She will love you for that...This song made me cry there is so many things I want to achieve but I never had choices I did what my mom thought was best which was school school school. I wasnt good at socializing once I left into college I had mental break downs and almost killed myself if my boyfriend didnt come to me before and told me to just say screw it and do what you want to do. I still hate making choices it scares me but I am learning to do so though and I am learning to be selfish for myself now! Now my dream is to be a nurse but my main dream is to be able to go to a beach or a forest and make my own little house and just try to be happy! SO thank you for this amazing song cause I needed to hear this...

The first time I heard this ( the albums been on repeat for a week 😅 ) I immediately thought of my family, my dad specially, he has 3 girls and he worries I know he does but in worrying he smothered our passion for life, I'm 20 years old now I'm finally grasping my life on my 2 hands with help of my boyfriend, I'm finally screaming at the top of my lungs about what I want, that I don't need someone telling me who to be, I love my parents and I spent so long coasting through life to stick to their plan, to not worry them, my daughters will always have me watching over them protecting them as they grow, but they will know to up writing their own stories, falling in love and exploring the world, a world I have been so sheltered from previously, thank you for writing songs that help express words I thought I had lost long ago

Amo tanto esta canción porque la escuche por primera vez cuando estaba en un punto de mi vida en el que simplemente quería darme por vencida, rendirme y dejar todo lo que alguna vez soñé para convertirme en lo que otras personas querían que fuera, para ser simplemente un títere esperando cumplir las expectativas que los demás tenían en mi, pero pude darme cuenta de que no quería eso para mi vida, no quería vivir siendo infeliz por el resto de mis días, no quería perder mi propia identidad y dejar que mi esencia se fuera y mi luz propia se apagara. Love this song!!!This reminds me of the relationship between me and my dad.... i don't think he doesn't believe in me, it seems like the doesn't think I can be great, he doesn't understand that I have dreams of what I can accomplish.... I wish he was supportive... maybe I'm not as good as my siblings, maybe I am an anxious wreck around people, but I won't let that stop me because I believe I can do anything I set my mind to... even if he doesn't think I can.

Even if he could understand the lyrics, he will never admit it 😞 because my father is just like that : he's convinced that he's always right and that the most important decisions absolutely need his approbation 😓. He's not a bad person, but he's just not able to admit it when he's wrong and, in his head, "it's for your own good that I do all of that". Sometimes, we want so much the best for our child that we forget that they're not a only "part of us", but they're human too and it's to THEM to create their own life.

happy ending? i get the song is supposed to be about making creating ya own path in life and all but try to think about the lyrics as if its a real scenario for a second.. just humor me with this okay.. a man imprisoned his daughter in a room with no light for who knows how long by literally nailing the door shut.. and then years after she escaped and she has gotten somewhere in life he comes back and tells her that it was all part of his plans for her... that is the second worst kinda parent that exists.. cus it does indeed happen sometimes... but yeah it is a great song :)

I showed this beautiful song to a loved one that this song directly mirrors. Everyone, including me, has told her that she should resent the man she called father, but we never understood that there was always a piece of him in her heart. The music market is very competitive, and all the small musicians only make cliche songs, that's why they never take off. All this standard beat with poor generic lyrics. People be making music with nothing to show, go try to make money with something you really have a talent.
This isn’t mediocre and it’s pathetic if you think so. His music tells a story of his own experiences and messages he wants to share with the world. To you it may be generic, but this is a work of art that is has captivated the many of us that listen. It’s fine if you don’t like it but don’t discredit others work. I’d rather listen to music that truly moves me than what the music market has to offer.
