I feel like this song has a lot of metaphors. "Beauty is pain" "The most beautiful person on the outside can be the most ugly person on the inside" "Don't trust just anyone" I could go on and on. I feel like many people can relate to this. The "daisy" is a metaphor for a person who seemed like gold on the outside, but in reality he was just rusted gold on the inside. And the "rose" was the person who believed the daisies lies, who gave and gave, while the daisy only took and took but never gave. And eventually, the daisy was so far high while he took the Rose's heart and the rose kept getting more frail the more she was used. And when she had enough, when she was tormented for far too long, she used rage as a form to protect herself and(probably) pushed others away from her, even if they were good, cause she desperately did not want to meet another person like the daisy. This is a metaphor, and poem, of being used and manipulated and(possibly) abused, either sexually or emotionally or physically. This is what I think the song means to me, anyway lol Probably one of my favorites ❤️
