Mentally, yes. And for the real pilots it’s also incredibly physically exhausting. Everyone loves to dunk on the Air Force, but the guys that are capable of withstanding high Gs all while playing 3 dimensional chess at Mach 1 are truly a breed above the others.
Just gonna point out the energy retention of the F15EX. Armed with 16 missiles, two external fuel tanks, CFTs, and an IRST pod in the belly and is still able to constantly pull defensive cranks and notches, while also being in parameters to launch missiles on multiple bandit groups coming at different directions, all while splashing them.... That beast can MOVE like no other
It's no wonder. If you've heard the audio for the video showing the F-15EX on its maiden flight, the absolute HOWL of those engines sounds like the screaming of the damned. The sheer amount of power in that jet is disgustingly overpowered, I love it so much.
Actually it’s a nee jet, it has the 229 engines which are from 1989, but it has a fbw system in it now which came out when the ex was produced, so yes the airframe is old but technically not really at the same time
Friend of mine is an engineer for Lockheed and worked on the Shuttle and the F-22. Got to enjoy watching them launch frozen turkeys into the motors lol
@@tomfoolery5680 Russian designers did a good job on the Mig-29 and Sukhoi Su-27 but we will never know who would have won in a real battle between American versus Russian pilots at that time.
I was a maintainer in an Air Control squadron. We had some exceptional contollers who used to let me take a spare seat. That was some fun listening. Thanks for the memories.
Ignoring for a moment that the F-15 is airforce and the AIM-174 is navy so they will probably never meet 😭 the AIM-174 is enormous so even the impressively sized F-15 could probably still only hold 4 of them, maybe 6 if the ground crew was really creative but probably no more than that and she'd be sacrificing at least 12 AMRAAMs to do so. The F-15EX has a lot of hard points, but there's no getting around the physical size of a missile, so even if the plane was capable of lifting more, there likely just wouldn't be space to put them. Would be super cool though, going to bat with 8 or 10 of those suckers strapped to the airframe 🤩
It’s not actually I doubt you’ll see a navy weapon on an air force jet for the foreseeable future if ever and also with how the 15 is set up hardpoint wise you’d maybe get 4 on her if that
A missile bus with a top speed of Mach 2.5 and a radar that's been upgraded to the point of X-Ray vision. The best part is that this isn't even our most lethal airframe because you can still see it coming.
???? RADARs do not work like X-Ray. Also top speed is mostly irrelevant because of drag limitations. It's really only achievable on a clean loadout. The most lethal airframe would be the F-35.
I actually love the more mission immersed style. In contrast to the normal narrated videos it shows that managing this many targets with an AWACS in a scenario like this requires almost all of your focus. Good job GS
Love this style of video! Having the calls and radio comms is a awesome touch to the usual talk through of the missions (which are still great). Only thing I'd like to see is a reference in the description for certain call outs and abbreviation so we can keep up with the comms. Fantastic video would love to see more of this!
This thing is a fucking monster. To even have the arms to take out 10 planes is wild. This thing will fly around with up to 22. That is bonkers. Put 20 of these things in the air, you can level a sizeable air fleet without landing once.

Ok, so hear me out. @GrowlingSidewinder in a single F-15EX. How many simultaneous 3rd generation fighters (like say, all F4s for example) could one take on? Is there a limit where you get overwhelmed? It’s like the old thought experiment how many house cats, or squirrels or whatever could you take on at once.

I especially enjoy when you collaborate with Longshot. That is more of the amusing content you put out. That said, Dude, today's video is your finest work. That was another great mission! Some observations: Oddly, didn't see very many of the SU-27 kills eject, even though the Mig-29's pilots both survived. SU-27 much bigger airframe, I would think they would have a higher survival rate the the 29's. Also, the AAMRAMS upon launch seem to pitch down and corkscrew frequently although as you are higher the seem to launch normally. Just my .02, YMMV

The F-15 is such a beast. It's the definition of brute force lol. Gonna need these birds plus the F-22s and F-35s when China comes swinging with those J-20's and J-35A's (which has an uncanny similarity to the F-35 in terms of shape). China also apparently has some sort of 6th gen, space-capable fighter called the "White Emperor" (I don't think this is verified though, just rumors and a photo atm), which sounds intimidating af lolol.
Wow! That was HOT! Great mission, great aircraft!! Maybe everybody can see the F-15EX coming, but all that tells ‘em is that they’re about to have a very bad day. 👍
This was a nice departure from the usual mode of GS talking to us. It was more immersive. It was also a little exhausting just to watch, which means performing must have been even more tiring. Nice video.

I do enjoy these 'roleplay' type videos, very fun. That darkstar pilot was just using you like a rifle, point you to the targets one after the other.
