    😀 About VideoShowMeHow
    -----------------------------------------------
    ⏩ Where did this start?
    I really enjoy tinkering with different projects - they usually require a whole bunch of research and learning along the way. It's satisfying on doing a thing and standing back and going 'Yeah! Totally did that!'. I had a bunch of mates asking 'how did you know how to do that?' and 'I couldn't never do that myself so I thought; I need to start something where I can help others that might be thinking the same thing :)
    ⏩ What will you find here?
    The purpose is simply to make these videos as top quality and helpful as I can. They will always be free, there's ZERO agenda and the only motive is to try and upload what I would want to watch to help with that particular project. I'm also keen to keep building this little community and will try to answer all questions when asked - fire away :)
    ⏩ What's with the gloves?
    Not after any TH-cam fame here which is why I'm not in the vids - they're not about me they're about the how-to! I used the gloves for the first couple of projects I filmed which just happened to be messy ones and it kinda just became a thing. Plus adds a little more personality I guess :)
    New videos are being uploaded regularly so if there's something you'd like to see, have Questions and/or Comments drop me a line.
    Cheers guys.

    I have the Isuzu SX Spacecab tray. Had it a month and a half. Love it. The safety stuff can be a bit funny at times but you always have control so it is just getting used to the twitches. Agree with the head unit "OK" every time.

      Whereas my Dmax 'safety features' have come very close to causing two accidents. I moved over to pass a cyclist on a narrow road and the electric steering suddenly flicked left and nearly hit the rider (and yes I copped a mouthful). Something similar happened with a parked car on a narrow road. The driver opened his door just as I approached and the 'safety' lane keep flicked the wheel and I reckon I missed his door by cm. I can see a possible lawsuit arising one day. In legal parlance, 'This as a foreseeable consequence of the lane keep function.' Isuzu would have prove that it wasn't the case and they wouldn't be able to. The same goes for the diff lock actuator being smashed by being exposed to gravel and rocks.. on a purpose built 4WD.

    Took a fair bit to get used to the electronics but all in all great vehicle to drive. Seats could be easier to clean but my bad for not putting covers on yet 🤦‍♀️

    I bought a 23 xterrain, I use it to tow 2500-3000 kg loads. So it has a trailer on at least 50% of the 22,000 kms I’ve done so far. I’ve used a Rouge and Colorado for the same purpose over the past 6 years (I do A LOT ok k’s). Almost zero 4wd’ing. My experience with the Dmax so far is. I love it. Much more comfortable and nicer to drive and tow with than either the Rogue or Colorado. I think Isuzu must de-tune the 3.0 lyrics engine because it’s just ticks along. It’s sometimes difficult to notice if I have a light trailer on. Saying that, it requires a little more “motivation” to get a shuffle on than either the Toyota or Colorado, it’s a little lazy. My pet hates (I have 2) though is the piano black interior. Looks fantastic when clean, but takes about half an hour before it’s covered in dust. The other issue I have is the collision alert, can be turned off in hud before driving but such a pain. Especially if someone is turning left into a side street, the bloody thing has a heart attack! I just end up shouting at it and ignoring the warnings, which defeats the purpose of it. Other than those 2 things I’m a big fan.

    Interesting thought on the catch can. Totally agree with the pre filter but the jury is out on catch cans. Think while under warranty I will not be fitting one. As many people say yes say don't? I don't like the idea of unlubricated dry dust going back into the intake.

    Yep, when the IDAS cameras see a tree branch or road sign and it thinks your going to hit it, it warns you to brake by beeping and flashing red lights. On occasions it rapidly applies the brakes and tries to throw you through the windscreen. Scares the crap out of you and the car drivers following behind! No, this feature is not disabled in 4wd off road, unfortunately

  • @BenGovett
    @BenGovett ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Regarding the windscreen squirters, got a 2022 LS-M and it has regular squirters spraying out from under the bonnet, not from the wiper arms. Maybe talk to your dealer about getting the squirters put in from the base model. Or next time you are at the dealer, take a look at the lower models to see how they are plumbed. You can buy generic nozzles for 5 or 6 bucks per pair, maybe worth cobbling something together? And yeah... the OK button really sucks, and is actually dumb. Let's make the driver take their eyes off the road to press the "ok" button just so they can turn the volume down on the blaring stereo that kicked in after they started driving cause carplay took a while to sync up. It's dangerous, man. Most of the other tech makes sense, and when you are really tired the lane keeping stuff is really helpful. Glad you can turn it off though, cause it can get real confused on Sydney roads with questionable lane markings. Thanks for the honest opinions. Would love to hear feedback on the DP-Chip now you've had it for a while.

      @VideoShowMeHow  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Only impacts the bit you modify, not the whole car. Eg if you change your suspension and there's an issue, you'd pursue warranty via the suspension provider not Isuzu. Isuzu won't warrant components you've changed or modified.

    Another great video, thanks Adam. I have been communicating with ScanGauge since I got my new model DMax late October 2020 with not much luck or even interest from them. I sometimes tow a small caravan ( around 2 tonnes) and want to monitor my gerabox temp and EGT, do you know of any product to do this yet? Mine is an LSU and I agree with all your comments in this video. It is interesting you point out that Isuzu have solved the turning many things off with the press of a button for towing. I service mine every 5000km but take it to an Isuzu dealer for the book services and have just done the 30,000 service with the same people. I will check with them tomorrow to see if I have had the software update to turn off the main features for towing the caravan. I've just returned from towing the van to Cooktown and back for an average fuel consumption over the 4,900 km trip of 12.36L/100km. I regularly drive to Bundamba down the Ipswich motorway and often get below 8L/100km, it also agrees when I enter each fuel load into a spreadsheet for calculation.

    • @VideoShowMeHow

      You can get egt via the torque Pro app and obd Bluetooth adaptor. I run through that in more detail in the towing test video. Dealer can retro update for the tow button, just need to ask them for the update (not the lowering lane keep sensitive one)

    Had my XT Over 2 yrs now, 21k, the adaptive cruise control is a shocker, car pulls in front you almost run over it before it brakes and open the gap. When it brakes down a big hill brakes are like steady eddy applying it, will over run as much as 10kph, drop into the bottom of the hill drops 6kph lower before it picks up again, whole processor is so slow. Same with cameras just a shocker, very slow or over sensitive.
    Indicate 2 flashes and change lanes sometimes alarms go off and rips you back in your lane.
    I also have issues with short trip sub 1 min turn off and back on sets off fault with steering lock system failure , back to the dealer 3 times, they can't find anything, useless... apart from electronics car is great.

    Good video! I’ve had a few problems with my Xterrain.
    Changing from park to reverse or drive sometimes catches and makes a crunch noise.
    Since day one sometimes I have burning rubber smell from the rear wheels (Not from burnouts just driving)
    Sometimes going over bumps or pot holes the front right wheel makes a pop noise. Dealership had a look and couldn’t find anything.
    The front bumper has soooo many chips and marks from rocks, Must be a cheap paint or something else because it looks horrible.
    The black plastic interior gets scratches so easily and looks very cheap.

    With the rear bar is there enough room behind to put some lights either side as rock flood lights?
    Was a long range tank in works as you can get a sub tank which fits behind the spare wheel and onside give additional 45L?
    I’m currently waiting for mine to arrive. I do love the DMax due to interior room and the engine.
