      The "designers" don't make it too complicated. In 90% of cases they use the base. I doubt that a thick wooden plate is necessary to support 4 rods and 2 bearings🤣

      but if you could make some of this machines floating between 2 magnets in a container with no air but only Vacum then I belive infinite or really long motion could be achieved

      "Perpetual Motion Machines" do not generate energy. They are just very efficient at transferring very little force into a lot of motion. Any attempt to havest that energy or even rubbing your hand against it, will reveal that there is very little energy powering these devices to begin with, in fact, slightly less energy than it took to start it.

    • @martinsrozenbergs9692
      @martinsrozenbergs9692 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't understand what do you mean by putting quote marks?

    • @icspps
      @icspps 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Mārtiņš Rozenbergs True Perpetual Motion Machines do not exist. Even the most well made ones will eventually slow down and stop due to friction and other factors if they do not have additional outside energy put in to sustain it.
      Think of a pocket watch, taking a few seconds to wind it and it will run a very complicated and precise machine running all day. However, the next day it needs to be wound again, or it'll eventually slow down and die. Same idea.
      A true perpetual motion machine would be wound once and would be able to sustain itself without being touched or having a batter or even taking in solar energy or being moved to self wind.

    My grandfather built a basic PMM when I was a kid. It was just a basic unbalanced wheel design. He knew perpetual motion could never happen, but he thought the machines were neat. Well, he spun it, and it just kept going. We eventually went upstairs and had some dinner, and later on went to bed. The next morning, we went down into the basement, and the thing was still spinning. We all knew it was impossible, but there it was. Three days later, still going. So on the fourth day, we went downstairs, and it had finally stopped. It turned out that the unicorn we kept in the basement got loose and bumped into it, causing it to slow, and finally stop. Makes you wonder how much longer it could have kept going. True story.

    Cool video.
    Though I'm a bit ignorant on the subject, isn't perpetual motion supposed to be impossible? Sure, most of these machines can run for awhile, but will eventually halt due to external conditions, right? Give most of these (including your Part 1 video) a couple hours and they may stop functioning.
    Bah, impressive and interesting no less.

    • @explorerschannel4103
      @explorerschannel4103 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +SlamifiedBuddafied i cant say all, but most of them are being runt by an egine of some sort,
      for example on part 1, the blue water one, it says that the weight of the water pushes it down, but water pressure varies only on height, so it must have some kind of pump, probably in that black brace that secures the pipe to the table

    • @VeteranVandal
      @VeteranVandal 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Explore&ShootTV If you look closely, similar observations to the one you wrote are valid for almost all braces you see in the vid. The shots are meticulously taken so that the source of energy is hidden, in most cases (if not in all).
      There is even a screw that starts and stops moving at some point, which is probably associated with a torque given by a motor. But those are nice toys to fool people.

      +Gabe adorno no it does no. it defies the first (and possibly the second) law/s of thermodynamics meaning that these people are trying to fool you by hiding a rotor somewhere which powers the device, or just being a really efficient device that is given energy at the start to create an illusion of a gain in energy

    • @itsxerxes6754
      @itsxerxes6754 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      joebog1 laws get broken and if it's efficiency is good enough it could go for a very very long time. But it's useless because as soon as you try to hook a turbine up to it to generate energy, it would slow it down

      +ThePapino134 A prepetual machine would only accelerate if it had no forces to stop it! On earth you will have gravity and air recistance, but everywhere in the universe you have friction to overcome....
      Than again making a machine that does neither accelerate and decellerate would be impossible. for example a "newton's cradle" seems to have figured out that stuff, but if you wait long enough they also stop...

    I don't know why there's so many people saying these things are fake. They are completely possible. You may say that, by the laws of thermodynamic, you can't get energy out of nothing, but these machines don't work all by themselves. You give them a bit of energy when you set up the contraption in place. By lifting it, you transform your physical energy into potential energy, and then, thanks to gravity, that potential energy is transformed into kinetic energy, making the contraption move. This movement also transforms kinetic energy into potential energy again on the other side of the contraption, and the cycle starts again. Basicly, you give it some initial energy, and then it is transformed constantly. At least that's how I think they work. Theorically, they are not perpetual, as friction produces heat, which makes the system lose energy over time. Eventually it will stop working, but it could take years. Why isn't this used as full electrical generators? Well I think the amount of energy produced by a wheel of that size and rotating at that speed is absurdly low. Making a bigger version of this would be costly, and it wouldn't produce much energy either. Also, as it depends on gravity, it can't be rotated or moved, so it doesn't work as a mobile energy generator. The relation between cost and energy production is too low. Why would people invest in a giant gravity generator when they can produce the same amount of energy with a cheaper wind or water turbine? "Perpetual" motion machines are interesting to have there in your room, but they aren't a reliable source of energy.

      +Mod MINI The arm it was suspended by. The concept of the contraption is that as it unwinds its momentum throws it towards the next leg to wrap around, however such a device would probably never manage a full revolution. in this case, you can clearly see the arm is throwing the weight towards the legs as its moving far faster then the weight is. If it was working on its own, the weight would swing out ahead of the arm. Just like how the first device was clearly using a rotor to spin (The weights moving and jostling about give you a hint that energy is being added to the system by an outside force) since the orbital weights had no impact on its speed.

      Понятие "вечность" это есть вечность. В данном случае мы имеем просто механизмы, которые питаются не от батареек, а от гравитации земли. Земля как и её гравитация не вечны. Если уж на то пошло, то Вселенная (теоретически) расширяется бесконечно. Соответственно механизм должен работать в открытом космосе и брать энергию от самого себя. Но так же он и должен отдавать взамен. Как получить в данном случае КПД 100% от механизма который питает сам себя? В простонароде это называется "манна небесная"

    Wow, very smart thinking. The big arc piece does 3 things. 1) It takes the weight off of the spinning assembly at the top of the down hill trek, 2) it rotates the weight on that same smaller wheel so that it cocks it back to create a kenetic downhill golf swing potential, then 3) releases the weight into the golf swing to maximize the downhill swing thrust, while the weights on the other two wheels have their weights hanging free and closer to the center, allowing them to rise due to the fact that the big wheel has less weight to lift on that side. In turn, PM, and a very nice version of an alternating weight wheel PMM.

      jody024 not just probably, 100% fake. Cool ideas but the perpetual motion machines are all fakes. This is one of the oldest concepts of physics. You can never generate more energy than you the one you have used to generate it in the first place.

    • @dylarmage
      @dylarmage 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Who is cheating anyone? Don't go adding in accusations if you aren't going to follow through. "Paradigm" is not a fixed principal that is without exception or without possibility of disproof. As soon as you start making absolutist statements like "X proves Y" then you have ceased science and moved into entirely new fields of rhetoric. There's a reason that every article that says "Study proves X" is categorically false. That's not how the scientific method works and its definitely not the way that science on a basic philosophical level works.
      Cases like this show up very commonly around discussions about things people like to think they understand through even the most basic of pop science concepts. Newtonian physics is 1) Not an absolute set of rules 2) Is not as simplistic as the standard you're attempting to establish here.
      Honestly, I'm not even concerned about the content of your post. Well, beyond your absolutism. That's the problem. You think science is about protecting what already is and not about discovery beyond what is known. I can tell because you jump to "these are fakes" (a nonsense statement to make about a physical object that is clearly real) instead of making a correct statement like "friction and or entropy will probably cause it to come to rest at some point in the future, even if it preserves momentum for a long time."
      If you're going to throw words around, know what they mean first.

      когда верёвка с грузиком разматывается, в момент перехода с одного шеста на другой происходит смена направления движения грузика (просто внимательней приглядеться если). Хотя в силу сохранения импульса движения, грузик должен был продолжить свою траекторию, т.е если с одного шеста он разматывался по часовой стрелке, то НАМОТАТЬСЯ на второй шест он должен также по часовой, но сняться с него уже против. Тем более что палочка с грузом находится внутри круга. На видео же, если меня зрение не подводит, груз наматывается и разматывается всегда одинаково на всех палочках (против часовой и по часовой соответственно), именно это и смутило.
      Хотя, если я не прав, не судите строго, а объясните. Спасибо за внимание.

      veproject1в том, что без воздействия на основной шест (к которому всё это крепится) вращение его должно прекратиться после первого разматывания. Сам импульс и его гашение (посредством смены направления движения груза во время разматывания), происходит практически в одно время. Т.е всё это движется за счёт окончательного отделения грузика от шеста(начало) и наматывания на другой (точка окончания действия импульса движения), НО в середине пути происходит смена направления движения (в виде буквы S), которая противоестественна свободному перемещению тела, которое находится в состоянии движения по инерции, и тем более закреплено в одной точке.
      И не нужно принимать всё так близко к сердцу. "логику", как вы выразились, я понял. Повторю ещё раз, если я не прав, то буду только рад прочитать, а ещё лучше наглядно увидеть объяснение этому. Спасибо.

    There's a book called "Physics for entertainment" by Y.E Perelman. In this book Perelman extensively talks about perpetual motion machines. He gives mathematical and scientific proof to debunk these machines that you've just shown.

    For those that keep saying that it's all fake and he put batteries on them, please stop and think. Perpetual Motion may be impossible but that certainly doesn't mean that creating a machine that can utilize the vast majority of energy put into to a greater efficiency is also impossible, news flash it's not. Gas engines and other engines that we use to power our world are extremely inefficient and therefore require a constant influx of energy to run but these machines do not and will continue to run for an extended period of time, it's not "Perpetual Motion" it's simply showing off efficiency in a mechanical system. Please stop being idiots.

      John Kens A gasoline engine is about 20% energy efficient some are a little more but that means that 80% of the energy they take in is lost, usually by heat. An engine such as these is maybe 80-90% energy efficient, for something to have perpetual motion it must be 100% energy efficient which due to entropy is impossible. That's called efficiency you should do research before calling me the idiot sir, maybe you should go back to high school and learn about it too idk i'm just an idiot.

    • @hunterdolenc6735
      @hunterdolenc6735 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John Kens that does not make gasoline more efficient at all, it makes it more practical in today's society. simply producing more energy than something else does not mean it is more efficient. efficiency is the relation ship oh energy leaving the system ( a ) and the total energy produced by the system( e ), which is a/e *100= % efficiency. so in the case of a motor vehicle (e) would be the total energy the engine produces in kj, let's say 1000kj. while (a) would be the energy at the crank in kj, let's say 350kj. so (350/1000)*100=35%
      in this example the engine has a energy efficiency of ,35%. which means 65% of the energy is lost in heat, friction, things like that.

      Lacrima Gasoline produces huge amount of excess energy, so it can move a car. Even if it was true those devices would work, there would be energy just to propel it itself, not even propel anything else. Those devices would need to produce many hp more energy to be possible use it as propellant. But it would mean when running free it would keep to speed up to the high revolutions until it destroys itself. But nothing like this happens, so this can't be even thought about being better than gasoline...

    A perpetual motion machine continues to move as long as no energy is lost. A perpetual motion machine does not create energy, it just uses the initial energy input to continue moving.
    Every wheel is a perpetual motion machine or as close as we can get. All of these items have one thing in common and that is they act as flywheels using different methods to continue the initial motion at a relatively steady pace.
    Once we have frictionless bearings and put that wheel in a true vacuum then it will be a true perpetual motion machine.The closest we see to a true perpetual energy machine is a video of a spanner lost by astronauts into space.

      gravity is a force, but not a source of energy. Any energy gained by dropping something will be lost again when it is lifted, along with interest from friction. Even if you could make a perfectly frictionless wheel that ran forever, it would be useless as an energy source, since the minute you tried to extract any energy, it would stop.

    screw the definition of perpetual motion, why has no-one hooked a dynamo up to like 300 of these and emplyed a few people to walk around and poke them with a stick every now and again

    • @HidekiShinichi
      @HidekiShinichi 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      extremally unefficient. dynamo wpuld put put near all energy in secounds fron them and even if someone would poke it constantly... well it would be more efficient to just spin dynamo by yourself but as you probably know its waaaay less efficient that for example water turbine

      mine-cake , How about, get a bunch of people to push a gigantic dynamo and then poke whoever is slowing down, stumbling, or slacking off.

    Fact: Using the word “machine” with perpetual motion or energy, will give it a beginning and an end, making it finite. With this new and better understanding of perpetual devices, its meaning will need updating in defining it as finite. This way, these devices or machines will not violate the laws of thermodynamics, laws of nature, laws of physics, makes them patentable. ~Guadalupe Guerra

    Although these machines can't provide unlimited energy the unbalanced wheel and the three beams perpetual star can be dramatically improved and can be an electrical fan needing far less energy

    While obviously friction is bound to "tear apart" each of these systems sometime, these videos show remarkable classical designs that are grasped visually.

    ...nevermind, they're all obvious; I don't know who would fall for these.

    While there is no such thing as _perpetual_ anything, (including time itself) these machines are incredible examples of their inventor's ingenuity. I was certainly impressed. On another note, I really was digging the background music on this video in particular. It reminds me of something that could be used in a Kill Bill movie, which is perpetually cool.

    Imagine if these PM machines (Like the suspended gear mecha) could be applied to large-scale industrial applications, like power generation; Electric power for ETERNITY for ANY city and totally green on top of it! Alas, in a perfect world...

    All I see is visual stimulation that creates thoughtful dialogue in the comments. I think it's a win win. The fail is that we can't come up with a way to convert a slight amount of energy to a major amount of energy without combusting fuel to slam through life.

    Nice handcraft. All models are driven by a motor in the base. The constant motion of the center axle at all models debunks it.

    All of them have thick pillars and are powered there. We need to make the pillars transparent. The power can also be hidden under the floor, so it needs to be placed on a glass plate.
