For those that want to read along:
    Railroad Love Game
Allow me, if you would please,
to sit back and tell you a tale,
Of a deal gone horribly wrong,
and a freight train from Hell,
    My story begins with Love,
    (As most good stories do),
When an average man named Luke,
    met a woman named Sue,
    Luke worked on a railroad,
    back in eighteen fifty-eight,
That ran from Council Bluffs, Iowa,
    to San Francisco Bay,
    “The Overland Route” they called it;
it was almost two thousand miles,
    With parallel rods always below,
    and above were ominous clouds,
    On this said route,
is where the fated two met,
Luke had never gambled a day in his life,
    but Sue…
    Ah Sue,
    Yes, Suzy liked to bet.
There was something in the way Sue talked,
    that drove Luke insane,
He knew that Sue had control of his soul, before he ever knew her name,
So it’s safe to say that Luke fell in love,
and damn, if he didn’t fall hard,
He was head over heels in love with Sue,
but Sue was in love with cards,
On that cursed metal carriage of luck,
    Luke finally tossed the dice,
He asked for her name- her price was a game,
    (Lady Luck has snake-like eyes),
Sue then explained the rules of the game,
and it seemed simple to Luke,
    She’d shuffle her cards,
then spread them apart; Luke just had to choose,
One single card from out of her deck,
then see if it’s black or red,
If it was black, Sue guaranteed that,
by morning they would be wed,
“And if the card’s red, I’ll still tell you my name,”
    Suzy’s sweet voice claimed,
“I’ll even have you made the conductor,
    of my dear father’s train.”
Luke wasn’t afraid as he agreed to the game,
then watched Sue shuffle the cards,
He held his breath, reached out his hand,
    and then…
    Yes, then,
Luke drew the Queen of Hearts.
Now let me explain, some crucial things,
that I think you need to know,
Sue loved games, but she loved one thing more,
and that happened to be souls,
So the poor foolish man, who thought more of his plans,
to wed than be taken below,
Cut a deal with Lucille, the daughter of Grim,
and ended up losing his soul,
Now, Sue didn’t lie, when she promised him a place,
as the conductor of her dad’s train,
Luke was taken by surprise, when he looked into the eyes,
of the father of death and pain,
Lady Luck laughed in Luke’s face that night,
as his soul was chained with flames,
“How does the story end?” Do you ask?
    Well, the truth…
    Is that Luke,
    Is really my first name…
…And I’m still conductor of this damn train.

Damn! That's awesome! Kinda reminds me of hadestown in a way. A really cool concept, though. The end line is actually pretty funny. Tragic, of course, but funny as well- Nicely done.

Thank you so much! Yes the last line is supposed to make you smile😁 at least that's my type of humor lolol.
I'm not familiar with hadestown. What is that?

@@beauxlen Same! And "Hadestown" is a story about two lovers but the other gets trapped in the underworld working on a build of the Devil never to be seen again because they got tricked by the Devil promising warmth in the winter. I would say more of what happened but maybe you take interest in it so I won't spoil anything more.

    Wow 😍 I really liked.
For some reason it reminds me of lana del rey's summer wine song.
