Thanks for the vid. Next time I suggest as you are screwing down the bolts to go from one bolt, then to the opposite side, then go to the undone bolt on the opposite side, kinda like drawing a star, this way the torqued down bolts more evenly, maybe not so important for tyres but certainly good for manifolds and gasket flanges etc. ;) Keep up the good work on your vids! I've decided to go for a Dual 8X variant from China, hope it's similar to the Zero 8X.
Great tip indeed! Normally I would follow that process but these bolts are JUST long enough to get it to bite so with one side raised it was really difficult to follow that pattern. Honestly I was pretty frustrated at this point anyways. So there’s a good chance I didn’t try hard enough as well. 😂 I really meant it. This one was a bugger! The good news is that I got 800 miles on my last tires so it isn’t something I’ll have to do again relatively soon.
Thank you! I still have my 8x but I rarely ride it now….unfortunately. It’s such a fun time but I’ve moved to the next town over and there aren’t as many trails here. Thanks for watching!

@DocMicrowave nice work! It’s funny the irony in it all. The solid tires was the main selling point for me…..and after changing them, when it comes time to change them again I will be selling the scooter. 😂
Thanks Mr. 23 for a great video again. I did near 1000km with my 8x. Still don't need to change tires but will look again to your video when I need to do it, so thanks again.. BTW Which spray product do you use in 1:33?
Thanks so much for the comment. I really appreciate that! I used wd-40 to lubricate it. It might not have been the best solution to use but it worked for me. If you do change the tires give yourself a solid day to get it done. Might not take that long but then you won’t be pressed for time. After the first one it will make sense how it all goes and the second will be much easier but it is a pain!
Hy there.. i am interested in changing my solid tires to pneumatic ones.. do i need somekind of conversion kit from solid tire rim to pneumatic one ? Where does the inflating valve come out of the rim. Any advice is usefull.. tnx
Hello. There isn’t a spot for the valve stem to go so I’m not too sure if you could modify it in a way to make that work. If there is a way I’m not familiar with it. Sorry I couldn’t be more help. Let me know if you do find a way
Hello. I did another video on upgrading the hydraulic brakes. It wasn’t too bad of a process but I do show how I was able to do it all in the video. Hope that helps. Thanks!
I did see that too. I haven’t had an opportunity to look into them too much. It would make the ride a little more comfortable for sure. I would be curious to see how they are though. Thanks for the comment.
Nothing that is super noticeable. The suspension arms do have some play in them so it does move somewhat but nothing that feels abnormal. If you’ve removed the wheels I would check the washers to make sure they are locked in. Hopefully it’s something simple like that….
Nice...how many kilometers you do on your tires ? My 8X overall now 9889km ( 3000km on serial solid...4000km on dualtron compact solid tires and now 2889km on pneumatic tubeless tire motors ) No issues so far :)
Wow! That’s a lot of km! Good to know this thing will hold up over time. I only have just over 1200km total. Certain months it gets really hot here so riding it to work isn’t the most comfortable. But in the next few weeks I’m gonna start taking it to work again. Plus before I was only commuting 8km round trip until I moved. Now I’ll be doing 23km round trip. They will start adding up faster.
@@ADayintheLifeofMr23 This is not a stripped-down design in terms of electronics (2x20amps), so so far everything is fine. I thought that would be a good option as well so I did try that first but it was unsuccessful. It is doable but it took A LOT of force and I was using a hacksaw with a brand new blade. I got about halfway through and realized the time and effort I spent cutting it wasn’t better than forcing it off the way I ended up doing it. Unfortunately I just don’t think there is an easy way to do this. Thankfully it doesn’t have to happen often. I got about 700 miles on those other tires. Thanks for watching!
@@ADayintheLifeofMr23 Thanks for the reply. Just sold my 8x at about 7000 km. I didn't change the tires. They were good. Absolutely no issues with the scooter. Just a screw loosening from here and there. I'm waiting for a DT Compact right now. I hope it will be at least as good as my 8x was. Awesome scooter.
@@CanYouBio I love my 8x too! The stem clamp was my least favorite part but once I got the upgraded one there were no issues at all! Let me know how you like your new one when you get it!
That was the main reason I went with the 8 over the 10x. From looking at the tires it appears they are similar in size. But I would for sure reach out to them to see if they make a solid tire for that model or if these are compatable. I wouldn’t want to recommend anything and it didn’t work. I got about 700 miles out of the tires I had on there. So definitely get some use out of them but there are for sure some downsides. I know I said it in the video but changing them is really challenging. I’m not sure how the tires are on the mantis but these tires are terrible in wet conditions. Very slippery. But the upside is never getting stranded anywhere with a flat. Sorry that wasn’t too much of an answer but I appreciate you watching! 🙌🏼
