Ingredients:
for the lemon pound cake :
400g pastry flour
200g plant-based milk
200ml lemon juice (you'll need about 3 or 600g lemons)
160g sweetener
100g oil
2 tsp baking powder
for the lemon peel :
300g lemon peel
100g sweetener
300ml water
for the lemon glaze :
300g powdered sugar
50 - 60ml lemon juice
Instructions:
1. put lemon peel, sweetener and water in a pot and gently keep simmering until water is almost gone. It usually takes about 20 - 30 minutes.
2. combine all the ingredients for the lemon pound cake together in a bowl and mix.
3. bake at 356F/180C for 45 minutes.
4. combine powdered sugar and lemon juice in a bowl and mix.
5. pour the lemon glaze over the cake. top with lemon peel. set it aside until the glaze dry.
6. Enjoy!
*If you don't like the bitter taste, remove the white part under the peel.

レモンジュース 200ml（レモン３つ分、大体600gくらい必要です）
甘味料 160g
オイル 100g
ベーキングパウダー 小さじ2
レモンピール：
レモンの皮 300g
甘味料 100g
水 300ml
レモングレイズ：
粉糖 300g
レモンジュース 50 - 60ml
「作り方」
１、レモンピールの材料を鍋で煮詰めます。20 〜 30分くらいかかると思います。
２、パウンドケーキの材料を全て混ぜて合わせます。
３、180℃で45分ほど焼きます。
４、粉糖とレモンジュースを混ぜ合わせます。
５、パウンドケーキに全体にかけ、レモンの皮などを飾り付けて乾くのを待ちます。
６、エンジョーイ！

my brain who has been learning french for 1 year: Cake au citron, more like "Le GâTeAu Au cItRoN"
but honestly, it looks like a simple elegant recipe, and that use of candied lemon peel, amazing!
It's a cake shape (not a round cake) so even in french we say "cake au citron" just because of the shape of it (hope it makes sense)

@@greisly8114 there's "tarte" which is a pie, "gâteau" which is the round thing, and "cake" is both this shape and a specific batter base (you can make a "cake" batter and have it in a round shape, it'll still be a "cake" to me)
I'm not a baking expert but that's what I've been taught, take my words for what they're worth! 🎂
French is pretty confusing but you'll figure it all out eventually!!

Video is so simple and easy to follow. Can we replace the lemons by oranges and make orange cake? I have actually made it. It turned very well. The fact that we can eat the orange peels in a cake instead of throwing them away is so amazing.

in terms of props was surprised to see a glass antique-like juicer. Thought he would use one of the modern stainless steel one. Also how I would love to eat the top of the cake that was sliced off! Hopefully it did not go to waste.
