@@SurfingWithNoz Oh it definitely does in many spots, mostly secluded with not many people as well. But i live in a more sheltered place where you need a decent North storm to bring in the swell, and it usually drops away after 1 or 2 days, so half the time i‘m out there chasing the Stormy stuff.

I was surfing in Maldives one time, I had like 2yrs of experience and bud I went with had like 24yrs of exp. There was plenty of people in the water and then it started raining and some people left, then HAIL started and everyone left, me and the guy stayed and thought it would go away soon. Bad idea, the waves went from 1m to 3m and you could see nothing. Currents got so strong that we barely came back and I saw the experienced guy was legit afraid. Crazy story, I was ready to ditch my board and swim as I used to compete, I don't know if I'd make it without that skill. Stay safe guys and if people are leaving that should give you an idea. Jailbreak and Sultans Maldives are also one of the best spots I have ever seen and people from all over the world come there, look for Eyotwave himmafushi for Perfect cheap accomodation. Stay safe!!!

Just by listening. Was like 5-10+ seconds from the lightning striking and the sound so that’s about 1.7km to 3.4km away. And that was at its closest… then the thunder stopped completely as the storm kept passing
