      @@BendheimBoards You beat me too it. I was just getting ready to post the same thing. Video wasn't too long, yet wasn't too short. Music was unobtrusive and pleasant. Just enough of each step to keep it interesting. And of course, the board turns out looking great. I've never built my own board. It'd be cool to surf something you made yourself. Great job all the way around! Dig factor 9!

    This is so inspiring! My grandfather was from Spain. He was what they call a Riviera Master (one of the last ones in the Dominican Republic). Riviera masters would chop trees down and build huge sailboats the old-fashioned way. He came from a long line of Riviera masters from Vigo, Spain. (His family have been boat builders since the times of Columbus and passed on the skills from father to son). It's in my blood. I love watching how things that float are made. This was so awesome. Can’t remember what gauge, but standard metal wire from the hardware store

    It looks like you've added the leash plug (as opposed to the fin boxes) after the last glassing layer and just applied a hot coat after that. Did I pick it up wrong or what's the reason to do it that way?
    Fantastic video!

    • @BendheimBoards
      @BendheimBoards  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correct, FCS 2 plugs I do before glassing and leash plug after hot coat

    • @Dominic94St
      @Dominic94St 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose it's because when it rips out, it doesn't break the glass layer?

    • @jonnyzuma6884
      @jonnyzuma6884 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Dominic94St yes, it prevents that from happening, but it’s an added bonus. The reason you don’t put the leash plug in under the glass is because it comes with a raised lip around it, which needs to be ground down after installing it. If you grind it down on exposed foam, you will cut away foam around it. If you grind it down to exposed fiberglass, you will burn through the fiberglass, into the foam. It has to be done on the harder, sandable hot coat.
