@@Walamonga1313 it's difficult to compare because the Trails games are much more heavily interconnected than the Xenoblade one. However these two are my favorite jrpg series. 😁

Torna is my favorite as well. Everything is streamlined in the best way possible. Great characters, a more mature serious story, the best battle system of the series, and there really isn’t much filler. It’s like watching a long running shonen anime without all of the filler.
@@andreschaves523 I didn’t say there’s no filler just a whole lot less. Even with completing those side quests it’s still a 20-25 game that’s extremely streamlined compared to its peers. It takes 40-50 hours for the full Xenoblade 2 battle system to really shine. You could finish Torna twice during that time.
Yea torna was good up until that final stretch. It’s one thing to encourage side quests but to make me have to find and do all of them really felt like a cheap way to do it. That game is at the bottom of my list.
All I will say is this game legit made me cry and no movie or game has ever done this. To me this game is an absolute masterpiece and is a definite 10/10 but absolutely respect Kim's score and definitely see where she's coming from
Same. The scene when they are in prison brought me to tears. And I usually don’t feel emotional from any video game. Made this one of my favorite games. Still have to play 1 and 2
I also finished xb2, torna, and 3 this year. Torna wouldn't be as good if 2 didn't connect it tho. The gameplay better than 2 base game. I loved 3 it is my favorite in the series with torna following behind. Best set of characters! And like how 1-3 connect. The map is way better too. I put like 120 hrs or so into it. Can't wait for expansion
It’s so tough to put my thought into text form… As of now, XB2 is my fave, as a package, because it includes torna. Do think the story of XB1 is better, but the combat of two for me was superior, the emotional scenes hit harder for me (played it in Japanese) and overall, I had a better time with it Xenoblade 3… I need to play it again, tbh. I really enjoyed the main party and their development, the heart punching scenes were amazing, but because it was promoted as an aftermath of the first two stories, there are a few key beats I was Hoping to see that just were not there at all, so while I really enjoyed the game, I felt something was missing for me I won’t be able to give a final score until the story DLC comes out next year, but at this point: #1 - Xenoblade 2 (+torna) #2 - Xenoblade 1 #3 - Xenoblade 3
1 has an awesome story, great characters and the combat is ok, 2 is just satisfying combat when you finally get it all down and the story is somewhere between good and WTF? Torna is 2, but even better and jazzy, also Jin and Lora are great characters! 3 is sooo well rounded, great characters, battles are fun and the story is stellar, very emotional. I'm only missing a bit more of a conclusion after finishing 3 and I wish that the DLC will give us a bit more connections between the games. Btw. I also finished XC3 in like 2-3 weeks after 110h and went on 100% up to 140h, IT WAS SO ADDICTIVE!!
I really loved XC3. I honestly can’t wai to go back in for a second playthrouggh and do alotttt of the side quests. they really did great with these side quests making them mostly flesh out the world and what’s happening to the people in the world. Also I found that viewing this game as a romance story firstly as opposed to a sci-fi epic story, makes the entire game more bittersweet every step of the way.
I really took my time with this game. I kind of set a timer to play about 2 to 3 hours a day with games and I spent most of August playing just Xenoblade 3. I really loved the story until the last 2 or so chapters when it feels like the kind of dropped the ball a bit, it is a pretty small portion of a really good story tough. It's amazing before that point though, and made me genuinely cry many times which I honestly haven't really done with this series since Xenosaga. The combat is a little weird for me though. I think the abundance of characters on the field makes it feel like I'm doing less and it kind of makes the game feel way more repetitive than the previous games. Granted I think 1 is more repetitive if you decided to use the same character the whole time, it's usually Shulk or Melia for me. X will still be my favorite game in terms of combat due to all the customizability and mechs, but 2 and especially Torna are pretty close with how well the mechanics build up to chain attacks and full burst. I definitely agree that Torna is the best game and the short length makes it easily the most repayable, community system road blocks aside. X is almost on par with it, but the main story kind of sucks, the worldbuilding and side quest makes up for it though. 1 and 3 are about on par with each other after that. I prefer 1's story more, but 3's combat and side content are better. 2 is definitely the weakest all around, the mobile game mechanics and meh story really bring it down for me. I do think the characters are very fun, and as I mentioned the combat when it can shine later on in the game is very good. If I were to include Xenogears and Xenosaga the stories and ambition of both definitely outclass anything Xenoblade has done, even though both are incomplete experiences, but yeah the gameplay is pretty dated and there isn't really much in terms of side content for both. Xenosaga 3 is still one of my favorite games in the series and I personally put it on par with Xenoblade 1 and 3. Xenosaga 2 definitely the worst game in the series and was a huge disappointment. Thankfully it's pretty much a nothing game with mostly filler content that doesn't add much to the story so it doesn't really drag 1 and 3's stories down too much. The cutscene soundtrack for it though is one of the best soundtracks in the series, the in game soundtrack is definitely the worst though.
I’m glad she has her own opinion and isn’t swayed by others. That is great. But does she really connect with the characters of 1 more than 2? Because that is definitely not something that I agree with. But again, glad that she has formed her own opinion
Gonna have to agree with ya. As much as I prefer 1's overall plot, Shulk and Melia were the only main characters that clicked with me. Though I did like that the others mostly played a lighthearted supporting role, they (mostly Sharla, Reyn, Riki, and Dunban) don't get much screen time or development.
I am still working on completing Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I am taking huge breaks like I did for 2 because I am waiting for all of the DLC to drop. I love Xenoblade 2, Torna, 1, and 3 in that order. I still need to finish X on the WiiU.
This was such a fun watch! I'm glad you both enjoyed the game. I would definitely agree with the 8/10 rating for XB3. I pretty much agree on everything! I beat XB2 before Torna came out and I just never went back to play it. I'm inspired to play it now after hearing your thoughts!
I played Torna literally last month after beating XC3. It's incredible!! I played and finished XC2 2 years ago after beating XC1 definitive edition. Anyways, you won't regret playing Torna.
While I feel that XC1 and especially XC2s final chapters were easily the best parts of those titles, and threw in twists that no one would have expected coming - I feel that after chapter 5 XC3 did the exact opposite and the overall sense of urgency and mystique just went downhill. **possible spoilers below** Ultimately there were too many questions that XC2 brought up in its final two chapters (with a certain AI processing mechanism and an artifact found in Lake Turkana that links to the other titles in the Xeno universe…among other unworldly things) that were left unanswered. Heck people still don’t know what exactly the black fog is! There are still unanswered questions about Lucky 7! I hope the new story with DLC will add a proper close to the Klaus trilogy.
@@eliasacevedo9542 **spoilers** The Zohar / Zohar Modifier / Conduit. Those who have experienced Xenogears and Xenosaga are fully familiar with what it is and its functions. Hell, XC2 practically set up and implied the Conduits connection to G'd / Wave Existence (A gift from some "Divine Entity" as Klaus calls it). When telling Rex and co about its functions Klaus also mentions it connecting to a "Far Flung Dimension" to power up the Trinity Processor and thus Aegis's. Those who know of Xenosaga will know of the "Domains", which Klaus's exclamation echoes.
Same here still finding stuff after beating XC3 last week as well rn I'm leveling up my class ranks still finding sidequests this is definitely my GOTY I'm about 230+ hours in absolutely love XC3 and the crazy thing is there is DLC later on
@CJ P. Dude don't even mention those, cuz Elden Ring is already there and will crush them no matter how good they are. But I personnally agree, XC3 is my GOTY...
Xenoblade 3 felt like MY Xenoblade. I played the first two plus Torna over the 18 months leading up to release. And when I saw the announcement for 3 during my Torna playthrough, and the main character’s name was Noah, I was shocked. MY name is Noah! So I felt a deep personal connection to this game and I’ll never forget it. Looking forward to the massive story expansion next year!
Xb2 is the best story than first and 3rd with very beautiful worlds (titans) and specially the music was very nice i still listen to them even after i finished the game and the battle system with blades was sooo fun even the villains were soo badass unlike the 3rd game which the villain you dont get to know him until you beat him 😅
I think 3 may be my favourite, it's so close between 2 and 3 though for me. Can't wait for the dlc story scenario. I think all three are 9/10's and above at least. Not much of a fan of Xenoblade X though.
@@The_Ostrich Just wanna know why you like it so much, to me the characters are generally boring (why is there a self insert), the story is in the side quests and even then it's not that great. The pacing is horrible, i was shocked when i had to grind to do story missions. The combat is a better xeno 1 but still far from 2 and 3's battle system. The best thing about the game is the game world which still lacks super memorable places you find in numbered games.
@@Hoppo_ Xenoblade X is my least favorite in the series, but it has merits the other games hasn't reached. The movement is a big one. Having a sprint button and a super high jump and no fall damage gives you a sense of freedom that none of the other Xenoblade games can give. The combat, while not as good as Xenoblade 2 or 3 imo, is the most in customizable and is the most broken in how overpowered you can make yourself, so certain types of players would like this game the most simply because of that. And the world is the most sci-fi feeling. The numbered Xenoblade games are definitely a fantasy setting that is secretly a sci-fi world in the end, but Xenoblade X is sci-fi from the beginning with a fantastical element layered on top. It gives it a different vibe, more like you're on an alien planet.
I started XBC 3 right when it came out and binged to chapter 5. It was alot in the beggining but have enjoyed it. However..I got a new job around that time and just haven't had the time to finish it like before. I want to get back into it. I think watching your review has pumped me up to continue and finish. I agree though, the first one is the best and my favorite!! ( I need to get XBC2 and Torna. I haven't played them.)
Don't worry, ch5 is the climax. I'm the same. Owned the game since day 1, got 2 new jobs recently, haven't had time. Just finished the other day. Ch6 and 7 suck and it ends with ch7. Total letdown.
This was an awesome summary of and personal thoughts of the games. Here’s to hoping Johnny will dust off the Wii U and persuade Kim to go through Chronicles X. Would love to hear how she likes that one.
Just know that the "serious" tone of 1 *is not in 2*. It's in Torna and 3, but not 2. So expect a light hearted "traditional JRPG" from 2 with a "Xenoblade" world.
@@sabata2 what on earth??? 2 has No serious tone ughhh, no it has a serious tone just like the others. It has arguably the same amount of humor in it as 3
I spend like 120 hours inside Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and I just love the inmesity and density of it, but for me the story was just ok, not as great as other people praise it to be. For me it’s an 8/10 as well as Kim said. This was my first Xenoblade Game by the way, but I want to try the other ones also ☺️
Agreed, I expected more from the story tbh. I thought 2 was a great continuation and expansion of 1 but this one’s story wasn’t as grand or hard hitting
Xenoblade Chronicles: 10/10 Xenoblade Chronicles X: 9.75/10 Xenoblade Chronicles 2: 9/10 Xenoblade Chonicles 2/Torna: 9/10 Xenoblade Chronicles 3: 9.5/10 These are all masterpieces but the first is still the best. The story and mystery throughout hasn’t been topped by any game. X should be talked about more as it has the best world and exploration. 3 was the most emotional and hit me at certain moments(chapter 5/6) like never before in a game.
Yeah, it's my favourite combat wise. And I really liked the open world with all the recovery stuff. 1st had best story. 2nd was too goofy, dub was horrible and the loot box machanics broke me. I put 400h in the game trying to unlock Cosmos but never got it.
I think Xenoblade 3 is the first xenoblade that if you read classic literature or philosophy about ontology, you could appreciate it more. Some of it aspect seems simple but it's actually more important than complicated series like Nier.
@@simonrockstream He's not saying it's super deep or anything. Just that knowing basic philosphical concepts can help with your enjoyment of the story.
Almost 140 hours in on hard, and easily my GotY. Must agree with Kim on Torna though, the combat system there was the best in the series. So much fun. I have high hopes for the story dlc for XC3 next year, I hope they'll release it physically as well.
I’m still only 45 hours in, which is a miracle as I’ve put a combined 500 hours into the other games. I’m just in no hurry to beat it, and I’m loving every moment.
XC2+Torna is my favorite overall. I loved the characters and I felt like there was a ton of character development. I also enjoyed the combat more than 1 but less than 3. I feel like story wise I like 2 then 1 then 3 and technically 3 is the best in my opinion but I wasn’t very connected to the characters and was less interested in the story. I also love the humor in 2
I love that Kim appreciates fantasy life. Not enough people know about that game and should, I wish they'd make a GOOD new verison of it. not a mobile game... it was so underrated. probably the most underrated 3ds game ever.
I played 3 on release and took me awhile to beat due to working long hours. I loved it. The premise, the characters, the emotive storytelling. Truly a great game 9.5/10. It made me go back to try 1 on switch. Honestly 10/10 story and VA and 5/10 everything else. The side quest are an utter chore and the combat seemed unrefined after playing three. The story kept me going to completion and i can safely recommend it based on rhat alone. Im sure that had I played it on Wii back then id be more fond of the combat and side quest.
I'm still working on 3 and I have like 120 hours LOL I understand what Johnny is saying by if you miss a game it can be hard to get back to it. I still haven't gotten to Ys IX because mine arrived a week late and by then I had already started the Trails in the Sky games. Since it's Ys though I'm definitely going to get back to it, especially with Ys X having been announced. Also I agree that Torna is amazing.
I'm really Torna between XC3 and Triangle Strategy for my game of the year. I've done pretty much everything except get the best gems. Biggest issue, it's pretty hard to inflict debuffs, which hurts a few of the classes. 9.5/10
Yeah its a tough choice. I played TriStrat 5 times back to back. Outstanding game. XBC3 I still have recency bias seeing as i just beat it 2 days ago. XBC3 has the added benefit of climaxing a trilogy and closing out a phenomenal narrative spanning over a decade. Maybe I'll have an opinion in a month or so lol
I am a huge XC fan, but i cant express enough my disappointment with XC3. For me, it had none of the elements that made the previous games so special. I remember the excitement of getting my first “full burst” in XC2, but XC3 gave me none of those moments. The combat was boring , the graphics were second rate and the gameplay loop was tedious. When i finished XC3 i was glad it was over (unlike XC2 where i was memorised at the ending). Still, I am really glad Kim enjoyed 😊
Just watched this during a food break from gaming. I currently have 185ish hours on XC3 and I put about 55hrs in since the DLC dropped. Trying to rank up all the classes and gems. It has halted every other game since the DLC dropped which sucks because I need to clear Valkyrie Elysium before SO6 drops later this week. I really like XC3 but XC2 is still my favorite out the lot. I like that XC3s combat is closer to XC2 because XC1s style is a little too slow for my tastes.
Kinda just repeating what I said elsewhere but I'm really enjoying the game so far. Questing like crazy and I'm almost level 50 and not even done with the 3rd Chapter yet. The map is endless. The characters are great & the story is really interesting. Loving the huge "life and death" narratives going on here. The voice acting is amazing too. I'm kinda obsessed with the Hero Class system. There's a lot here that can be overwhelming to players but I really think if it gets you in , you'll figure it out very quickly. And I still agree the UI is very cluttered. I avoided XC2 due to all the mixed reception but I always hear great stuff about Torna, may check that out one day. Anyways people should check XC3 out. Great vid!
I think it's pretty interesting that Kim liked the combat in the first Xenoblade the most. In my opinion I think it got better with each release. I love the mid to late game combat in Xeno 2, it's so damn addicting but it took way too long to learn. Torna definitely refined it and I expected an evolution of that system for Xeno 3, but oh man did they go above and beyond with play styles and options for the player. I absolutely love it, my favorite combat system in a long time.
The set up, mechanics, NPC’s, side quests were all awesome. My problem with the game was the conclusion. (No spoilers) Without spoiling anything, the lore and state of the world they set up felt like it was gonna lead to something epic, at least interesting much in the same way the first two games pulled off towards the final act. But the game completely forgets about all of it, and just… ends. The villains turned out so weak and cliched, like they’re doing bad things for the sake of being bad. Nothing felt tied together in the end and really felt like writing department just kinda gave up along the way. Literally, the key plot points stablished from the beginning were completely dropped and brushed aside, and explained away in the most vague, BS way possible. I think this is one of those cases where the journey was better than the destination. But it’s still quite disappointing to find out that the journey doesn’t end up leading to anything.
3 was definitely my least favourite of the series. Just find myself not really caring about the characters for most of the game and felt like there was too much going on in terms of combat. 1 and 2 are roughly equal for me, with each of them having certain things I prefer over the other.
It's crazy that even after 300 hours on 3 I'm still finding areas I missed. Some of them are probably the prettiest of the whole game. It really gives me PS1 and PS2 jrpg era vibes.
Same here after beating XC3 still finding sidequests and leveling up my class ranks and colony ranks I'm about 230+ hours in and still finding stuff and the crazy part is there more stuff coming later on DLC this is definitely my GOTY absolutely loved XC3

Congrats! I'm one of those that got overwhelmed at the start, but I do plan to go back. I was waiting for this to drop to make sure it would be worth it. Glad it's a solid game from Kim's opinion! Take care guys!
I did the same thing, I finished 2 twice, Torna and then 3 this year. About 400 hours worth and I didn’t even 100% 2. Now I’m playing SMT V and I kind of want to play through the whole Xenoblade series again. To me X is still the best.
I liked XB3, but it didn’t come together quite in the way I hoped it would by the end of the game. I appreciated some better quests vs 1 and 2, but I wish they would’ve spent a little more time developing the main 6 instead of 19 heroes that you ultimately spend little time with. Noah and Mia were a little Milquetoast for me, and the only character that I thought had legitimately good development was Lanz. At the end of the day, 2 is still my favorite, and that’s absolutely because it really got close to the lore and twists of the original Xenogears (and Saga to a lesser extent). Once you got into the later chapters I could not put 2 down. 2017 was an absolutely wild year for Nintendo.
i am not the type of gamer who like story in my game but hollyshit some games, are just a master piece in that aspect alone the story is 10/10, they really make something special here when it comes to story, and like i say before i alway play coz of the gameplay not the story but this one really got me hook up, one of my fav game for sure.
Just finished this game today at 95 hours. I got all the heroes except the post game ones like the queens. boy this game had me crying at the end I beat xeno 2 in august and started 3 right after. Never played the first or torna got to play those next
rly liked 3 alot, i feel you was almost punished for doing the quests during the main game though. even without ever feeding bonus exp at all when i stoped progressing around ch 4ish and spent days doing sidequests i ran into the wall of vastly out leveling the content to the point that raising each classes rank became nearly impossible untill the final chapter. it ended up making me skip litterally every fight in the later chapters full on rushing them cuz i didnt want any more exp or lv's witch also ment i stopped exploring and taking in the overall world.
I believe objectively XC3 is the best of the three, with the pacing of the story, the game play and the polish. But the first xeno game is always going to be anybody's favorite.
Holy cow I can’t imagine playing all those in the same year. I played the first one last winter and I’m still not ready to start another! Working on Radiant Historia on the DS right now.
For me XC3 is easily the best in the series and undoubtedly one of the best JRPG’s of the past decade. Up there with DQXI in my opinion. I still have a soft spot for the first game, but 3 was a better game overall. The story, characters and world were all exceptionally well done. Even the side quests all felt meaningful. An emotional roller coaster of a journey that every fan of the genre must play imo. Highly recommend!
I have 236 hours in this game atm i just love the battle system so much, i normally never put the effort in to beat the superbosses in games and this got me to finally get around to it and figure it out. The story was great and the interactions with characters was a real highlight ( i just cant stand sena though 😂)
I slow burned 3 from launch to last week, and I clocked in 168 hours to get to credits, with another 30 this week for the post game quests and stuff. What. A. Game. It's everything I wanted from a follow-up to one of my favorite series, and I think you're doing yourself a major disservice not playing the entire trilogy Johnny, especially since you have that history with Xenosaga. There are some great "WOAH" moments if you've got those games under your belt.
Nice job! I'm still playing xb3 and still on chapter 5... I was waiting for this video and wanted to hear what Kim had to say. The game is LONG definitely a bit representative but still Good fun and so much to do. Enjoying the collab videos of you both! I paid full price for this game so at least you get your money's worth!
I just finished tonight…. I am XB out. That was a real push. Can’t believe you got it thru that in a speedy run. It was great but dragged in spots and was repetitive to the extreme by the end. Insane game ❤ 8 is a solid rating for this game.
Nintendo killing it this gen. As an RPG fan the switch has not only given great RPGs it has almost had to many great RPGs. I haven't even been able to open my copy of XBC3 yet. I'm hoping to start it in December. I'm looking forward to Bayonetta 3 just so I can have a little break from RPGs
Good to Hear Kim say this as Torna blew me away , easily my favourite for the characters and story, and because it’s not such a time sink as the other 3 entries. Easily in my top 10 games of all time - Jin for the win !
I finished XC3 this weekend too. It took me 110 hours. It's my first of the series and I loved it. There are a few things that were annoying with the game. The map was hard to follow. I wish there was some sort of tracker for items you wanted to find, similar to BOTW when you'd get close. The story was amazing. I loved the music. Dialogue in the fights was repetitive ("I'm the girl with the gall."). I'm going to go backwards, and play XC2 then Torna. Hopefully after that I'm still excited and I"ll go back to XC1 after that.
So I was 70 hours into Xenoblade 3 about a month ago, then my Steam Deck arrived and I got hooked on playing Yakuza 6 on it. But I am going to return to XC3 this week and finish the rest of it

I won’t be able to give a final score until the story DLC comes out next year, but at this point:
#1 - Xenoblade 2 (+torna)
#2 - Xenoblade 1
#3 - Xenoblade 3
3 is good, but I really like 2 and torna. I miss having the blades by my side. I will definitely play xenoblade chronicles 2 a second time with DLC.
2 did not have a “meh” story -it was much better than 3 all around.
I’m glad she has her own opinion and isn’t swayed by others. That is great. But does she really connect with the characters of 1 more than 2? Because that is definitely not something that I agree with. But again, glad that she has formed her own opinion
yeah, i agree with you, 1's characters sucked
@@characterchampion830 I wouldn't say that
Gonna have to agree with ya. As much as I prefer 1's overall plot, Shulk and Melia were the only main characters that clicked with me. Though I did like that the others mostly played a lighthearted supporting role, they (mostly Sharla, Reyn, Riki, and Dunban) don't get much screen time or development.
for me i'm with Kim I like the characters more of 1 than 2. I use to no like XC2 at all but now I enjoy it and like the characters
You two are the absolute best! Maybes it’s because I was born in the early 80s and relate to your videos. Keep it up!
**possible spoilers below**
Ultimately there were too many questions that XC2 brought up in its final two chapters (with a certain AI processing mechanism and an artifact found in Lake Turkana that links to the other titles in the Xeno universe…among other unworldly things) that were left unanswered.
Heck people still don’t know what exactly the black fog is! There are still unanswered questions about Lucky 7!
I hope the new story with DLC will add a proper close to the Klaus trilogy.
I fully agree!! 3’s story is NOT that good.
THE ENDLESS NOW 🤢
An Artifaft found in Lake Turkana? Mind telling me about that Artifact?
@@roka102 Don't get me wrong, I still think XC3 is a solid entry. Just missing out on a majority of the stuff that makes the Xeno series what it is.
@@eliasacevedo9542 **spoilers**
The Zohar / Zohar Modifier / Conduit.
Very glad to see all the Torna love on this thread.
I always said it's like the "Rogue One" of Xenoblade Chronicles.
Outstanding game!!
Finished the game last weekend, took my time with it and did as much as I could. Absolutely loved the game. Probably my GOTY so far.
Kim: "When I met you I was but the learner. Now *I* am the master."
I like the positivity of this channel. There's no fake outrage garbage for views like so many, just pure joy of games and honesty.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a 10/10 video game
Xb2 is the best story than first and 3rd with very beautiful worlds (titans) and specially the music was very nice i still listen to them even after i finished the game and the battle system with blades was sooo fun even the villains were soo badass unlike the 3rd game which the villain you dont get to know him until you beat him 😅
I love the whole trilogy but Xenoblade 2 / Torna is my favourite by far.
I think 3 may be my favourite, it's so close between 2 and 3 though for me. Can't wait for the dlc story scenario. I think all three are 9/10's and above at least. Not much of a fan of Xenoblade X though.
Xenoblade X is the best by far
If you want them physically buy them asap I just did $140+ for both only gonna go up....
This was an awesome summary of and personal thoughts of the games. Here’s to hoping Johnny will dust off the Wii U and persuade Kim to go through Chronicles X. Would love to hear how she likes that one.
Thanks for the review, I’m almost finished with the first Xenoblade Chronicles. Love it so far, can’t wait for 2 and 3!
Just know that the "serious" tone of 1 *is not in 2*. It's in Torna and 3, but not 2. So expect a light hearted "traditional JRPG" from 2 with a "Xenoblade" world.
You're in for a treat, my dude.
Xenoblade Chronicles: 10/10
Xenoblade Chronicles X: 9.75/10
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: 9/10
Xenoblade Chonicles 2/Torna: 9/10
Xenoblade Chronicles 3: 9.5/10
These are all masterpieces but the first is still the best. The story and mystery throughout hasn’t been topped by any game.
X should be talked about more as it has the best world and exploration.
3 was the most emotional and hit me at certain moments(chapter 5/6) like never before in a game.
Be sure to give Xenoblade Chronicles X a shot! It's a really fantastic game.
Yeah, it's my favourite combat wise. And I really liked the open world with all the recovery stuff. 1st had best story. 2nd was too goofy, dub was horrible and the loot box machanics broke me. I put 400h in the game trying to unlock Cosmos but never got it.
Showing some love for X. It doesn't get talked about enough. It should get a Switch port.
Listening to a couple sit and talk about video games is super cool. Also, I'm still working on XBC3. I am enjoying it.
I think Xenoblade 3 is the first xenoblade that if you read classic literature or philosophy about ontology, you could appreciate it more. Some of it aspect seems simple but it's actually more important than complicated series like Nier.
bro.
Same here. Xenoblade 3 have a lot more Xenogears/Xenosaga vibe than Xenoblade 1&2.
@@simonrockstream come on mate, make a decent argument if you disagree.
@@simonrockstream He's not saying it's super deep or anything. Just that knowing basic philosphical concepts can help with your enjoyment of the story.
Great vid the part that hit home was the “give me a minute I have to process this” after completing the game cos WOW I can relate … I think we all can
Game of the year 2022, IMO.
I agree!
100000000000000% Agree!!!!
XB3?
@@sheskimusic XC3, yes.
Almost 140 hours in on hard, and easily my GotY. Must agree with Kim on Torna though, the combat system there was the best in the series. So much fun. I have high hopes for the story dlc for XC3 next year, I hope they'll release it physically as well.
I thought she said Xenoblade 1 had the best combat
@@TheMalioman Meant I'm with her on the overall feeling on Torna being the more polished and streamlined game.
For me
#1 Torna
#2 XBC2
#3 XBC3
#4 XBCX
I havent gotten around to XBC Definitive yet.
I just started my xenoblade journey this month buy all 3 series and im loving xenoblade 1 so many twist
I guess I'm the minority but I really love Torna and XCX the most out of them all. I think I enjoy the more mature cast and storylines
I just beat it and am watching the credits! It’s a masterpiece!!!
I’m powering through XC2 right now. Loving it more and more. Hoping to finish the series this year! Have you played the Future Redeemed DLC yet?
I'm here trying to finish XB 1. Not enough time yooooo
XB 1 is a rlly good game. Good soundtrack, good game play. Started playing it at work in hopes to finish the game faster.
Estelle is the true best girl
25 hours into the game, and I'm in Chapter 4. Been doing my share of side questing.
Loving it so far! Chapter 5 -75 hrs in.
I think we need a spoiler cast for the series, interested what you guys think about how they tried to connect all of the games together
I’m surprised Johnny didn’t do a reaction video to the Resident Evil/Silent Hill showcase.
I've been on chapter 7 for over a month now, so no judgements here 😄
That's how I feel of trials of cold steel series it's a beautiful experience my favorite ever but I'm gonna embark on these next
Incredibly emotional, amazing story, and the music is beautiful!!
What else do I need from an RPG?
I am a huge XC fan, but i cant express enough my disappointment with XC3. For me, it had none of the elements that made the previous games so special. I remember the excitement of getting my first “full burst” in XC2, but XC3 gave me none of those moments. The combat was boring , the graphics were second rate and the gameplay loop was tedious. When i finished XC3 i was glad it was over (unlike XC2 where i was memorised at the ending). Still, I am really glad Kim enjoyed 😊
Finished 3 and the DLC. Game is a masterpiece
Great vid!
finished this game one hour ago. Awesome jrpg!
So Torna is the only Xenoblade Chronicles game that I haven't played - it's sealed on my shelf, sounds like I should be giving it a go!
I love when Kim comes on the show!
You should have a million subs man. You, Kim and Robman kill it.
(No spoilers)
Without spoiling anything, the lore and state of the world they set up felt like it was gonna lead to something epic, at least interesting much in the same way the first two games pulled off towards the final act.
I'm at 168 hours on XBC3 lol I imagine the reason Kim only had 98 was the burnout. The game feels endless lmao. Congrats to Kim!!
I did everything on all games. In XB3 I spend 165 hours.
Here are my ratings:
XB1 9.5
XB2 9.0
XBT 9.0
XB3 8.0
Amazing series!
How is that even possible? I explored all the maps 100% in less than 100 hours. Also completed all the sidesquest and did pretty much everything. 300 hours is insane.
@@darkraven6661985 yep 300 hours is insane but when u absolutely love a game that is amazing in every way and don't want it to end I have to say I took my time beating XC3 because the hero quest and ascension quest u should complete them before beating the game because it adds more to the story imo that said I'm still finding stuff in post game and still having a ton of fun with XC3 after beating it

I'm alittle different my fav is Xenoblade chronicles 2
Same.
Congrats! I'm one of those that got overwhelmed at the start, but I do plan to go back. I was waiting for this to drop to make sure it would be worth it. Glad it's a solid game from Kim's opinion! Take care guys!
Quite curious if Kim plays Tales of Arise? and how would you two score it, comparing to the trilogy of Xenoblades? Thanks.
I did the same thing, I finished 2 twice, Torna and then 3 this year. About 400 hours worth and I didn’t even 100% 2. Now I’m playing SMT V and I kind of want to play through the whole Xenoblade series again. To me X is still the best.
I can’t wait to hear Kim’s thoughts on Future Redeemed! I loved it!
It's funny that they mention chapter 4, because that is where I am at right now too.
i am not the type of gamer who like story in my game but hollyshit some games, are just a master piece in that aspect alone the story is 10/10, they really make something special here when it comes to story, and like i say before i alway play coz of the gameplay not the story but this one really got me hook up, one of my fav game for sure.
Definitely my favourite game on Switch and GotY
Congrats Kim! I hope you guys talk about XCX!
outstanding game. love all the Xenoblade games. right at 170 hours in XC3. Never even mentioned XCX.
X is the best one
XC3 is the best one for me.
I agree about the characters in XC2.
X is good too. Hopefully it gets a rerelease at some point.
I enjoyed driving the boat for hours, nice music, interesting islands, waiting for those dlc:s, adorable nopons.
I believe objectively XC3 is the best of the three, with the pacing of the story, the game play and the polish. But the first xeno game is always going to be anybody's favorite.
Congrats, Kim, and thanks for bringing me smiles on a Sunday afternoon today. Have a great week, you two ❤
Holy cow I can’t imagine playing all those in the same year. I played the first one last winter and I’m still not ready to start another! Working on Radiant Historia on the DS right now.
I loved radiant historia!
The story was great and the interactions with characters was a real highlight ( i just cant stand sena though 😂)
..but she's the girl with the gall!
