Not to be dramatic but I really love how much of your channel is dedicated to celebrating and appreciating your friends and family. I really can’t personally think of any other gaming channels that naturally highlight it the way you do and it’s just a great thing to see on the internet
You're not kidding. Those endless hallway dungeons filled with random encounters piss me off! Which is why I think I'm not enjoying Metaphor as much as I thought I would. The dungeons are giving me those Nocturne flashbacks, but without the random encounters.
@@catatonic165 No, I mean almost all of them are just winding hallways with the same few mobs scattered about with little variation. And that applies even more so to side dungeons. It's just the same looking endless hallways. It's old school Nocturne, only without the difficulty. They're nothing like SMT V or even Persona 5 in terms of variety, verticality, exploration, puzzles, or interesting concepts. Maybe it's closer to Persona 4's procedural floor looking designs

Some RPGs I'm playing right now...... -Chained Echoes (literally Final Fantasy VI with more the mecha element, and I already love it) -Skald: Against the Black Priory (amazing throwback to classic CRPGs like Ultima, and with the Commodore 64 aesthetic too) -Dragon Quest XI (My favorite Dragon Quest game, especially for the amazing storytelling and world-building) -Star Ocean: The Second Story R (amazing remake of an amazing action RPG on the PS1) -Front Mission 3 (one of my favorite strategy RPGs for the PS1, plus it's literally Armored Core the RPG) -Ring of Red (dieselpunk mecha with storytelling nowhere outta place in Gundam 0083, 'nuff said) -Xenogears Perfect Works Build (literally my true GOTY 2024, mostly because of how they've handled the re-translation and quality of life stuff, and they're still working on this game even now)
I love that she really dove into his hobby when they met, and then it really began a hobby of hers. In the end way me and my girl have shared out love of games and hobbies with each other

I am almost to the end of Metaphor, and I haven't been capitivated by a new series like this since probably I jumped into Yakuza. it's just been so much fun. I wouldn't have really jumped into it without Johnny hyping it up before it came out. So thanks for everything you and Kim do on the channel.
I’m playing “Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake” and it is highly recommended by myself and jrpg fans everywhere. After that, I have “Visions of Mana” still to play, not to mention all the Pixel Remasters that just released on Xbox. Sooo many rpgs to play it’s nuts right now lol
Kim's RPG journey is amazing So many awesome adventures Shin Megami Tensei X Pokemon, that would be a sick crossover. Some of the lore goes to some dark places already Games I have been playing: Still working on FFVII Remake: side quests in one of the chapters. Those take quite a bit of time. I have to be honest, I have never found all of the music for the jukebox before. I think I might give it a go. I still have yet to play Yuffie's dlc. But hopefully will get to that soon too VII Rebirth. I will play you someday soon

I am very belatedly playing Octopath Traveler 1 and 2.. bought the collection when they came ou together for PS5.. right now just at the beginning of the first one and have 3 characters so far. Good on you man for finding a lady to be your partner that loves gaming too!!
I went into Dragon Quest Builders 2 because of this channel. It became one of my favorite games. Fantastic game play and what a surprisingly good story.
Octopath Traveler has nice feel to it. The atmosphere they created with the music, visuals, dialogue, voice acting etc. is really nice. Great mixture of everything. Something that many games fail to do. Many times it's great on one or two of those categories, but doesn't resonate with some of the others.
Everytime I watch this channel I see all these rpgs . I keep trying Mario rpg , dragons quest vi . Thinking I will get into them but always just get to a part where I die and can’t get passed . Always fell like I’m missing out on good games .
For me recommendations for RPGS are Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario up to Super paper mario, Mario and Luigi games, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, Wild Arms, Legend of Legaia, Undertale and Deltarune, Live A Live, Secret of Mana (the original on SNES), Trials of Mana, the Tales of Series is pretty good. There are so many good JRPGS.
I’ve also been with my wife for 15+ years and she wasn’t much of a gamer. Some Lego games here and there, but then Red Dead Redemption, Assassin’s Creed, Oblivion, Horizon, Zelda…. I’m left in the dust.

I regret not buying the DS versions of DQ IV and V when they were relatively cheap. I do have VI. But there a so many DQ and FF games I haven't played yet as well as many other series like the Atelier series etc. But goddam the games tend to get expensive and rare at some point. I've been collecting them for Switch. It's pretty amazing that you can play all Final Fantasy games from I to XII on Switch and there's also that chibi version of FF XV and probably some others. I was thinking of getting the Grandia 1&2 collection for the Switch. I can't probably recommend that many games that a true JRPG master like Kim hasn't played, but Skies Of Arcadia is a must play. And I didn't see Chrono Trigger being mentioned!
I'll stick to my previous (live) recommendation : she has got to get into Suikoden (starting with the upcoming HD remasters), I've got the feeling she'd love those... 😊 BTW, I replayed Suikoden III last year, and man, would that game benefit from QoL improvements (fast travel, more specifically) : the walking-around back and forth hasn't aged well and got on me, after a while... A shame, because the story of that one is exceptional... Overall, S1, S2 and S5 are my favorite (in their current forms)...
We didn’t like Fractured But Whole at first but liked it a lot more as the game went on. It just doesn’t feel like there’s a strong through story, but we really grew to like the gameplay. I’d say people should give it more of a shot if they only dabbled in it. Not nearly as good as the first game but still a good time.
Kim has excellent taste in games👍 She should give the Legend of Heroes: Trails games a try. They’re great RPGs for people who like longer ones like Xenoblade
2 games I highly recommend that I don't think get enough love or praise are Legend of Legaia and Legaia 2 Duel Saga. Those two games are extremely fun & I hope they get remade just like they remaade Lunar. Other games I loved playing are Trails of Cold Steel 1-4. I LOVE those series & you feel like a part of Class7 when playing those games. Also in my opinion you can't play those games with a straight face because the dialogue is so funny you end up laughing or is so emotional you end up crying.

Recently finished DQ 11 and now after years of having it, I’m finally giving Octopath a chance.
Looking forward ti Suikoden remake.

I finished Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim this year. I'd like to finish more including JRPGs.

I’ve beaten Skies of Arcadia 10 times in my life which only equates to about 500 Hours.
