    I bought this on Friday and opened it up to play today after a long, long work weekend and almost 5 hours disappeared in the blink of an eye. Things move at a nice clip without feeling rushed, and the game has a sort of graceful quality to it where each individual part is moving effortlessly in harmony with all the others. The combat, the open world, the item hunting, the quests, and dialogue all flow together in a seamless, almost musical way. It feels instantly cohesive, mysterious, dangerous, and inviting all at once, and I can't wait to play more.

      If I can offer one tip for the Torna DLC:
      Sidequests. Sidequests, sidequests and more sidequests. Do as many as you can as the story stops progressing eventually until you've done a certain amount.

      @they_them xb1 has avg characters and xb2 has…both awful and amazing dialogue in equal measures. Story in both earlier games is objectively above average for a JRPG and subjectively some of the best the genre has to offer.
      Absolutely agree that it’s not worth investing 140 hours to complete both earlier games before XB3: the biggest payoffs I’ve seen so far (halfway through ch4) have been the obvious identities of the Queens and some gee whiz ain’t that neat stuff with how they mashed up and post-apocolyptified areas from the earlier games

      @@Leathal This is reassuring to hear. I don't have hundreds of hours at my disposal to play both 1 & 2 and would really like to jump into the 3rd game as it is its own contained story with some tie ins to the previous games. The grass thing on the floor is because of your camera position, if the camera gets to close to the ground they don't render the grass around the camera to ensure that the player gets a good view all the time. Just adjust the camera height a little bit and you'll have all the grass render around your character.

    One thing I wonder is if the combat chatter got toned down, because in Xeno 2 it was incredibly annoying and I turned it off completely about six hours in and then it just felt strange for the rest of my 100+ hour playthrough that it was so quiet during combat, but it was that or go back to having my ears blown out by Tora screeching obnoxiously.

    • @Danb-fk5iw
      @Danb-fk5iw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doubt that. There's a possibility that they might include an option to alter the frequency, but that runs into a bit of a gameplay-feedback problem where you might not get voice cues for when characters use Arts. Maybe they could have an option to turn off just the auto-attack grunts and not the Art callouts, but I dunno.
