I loved this video and I really need your help with floating large items in epoxy…My wife has passed and I I want to create a large glasslike epoxy piece with her personal and most favorite belongings inside of it to like some of her favorite things inside of it like her perfume bottles, some of her high end makeup, her quite large designer hand bag, her sunglasses and several pictures. I feel this would be the perfect way to preserve her items and honor my best friend and my wife and I know you are the only person in the whole world that can help me make this a reality…PLEASE HELP ME Honor Her In The BEST Way I Know She Would Love!!!
That is beautiful! I am currently working on a square memorial like that with roses from my dad’s funeral and a pyramid from my grandma’s. I have silica now but I didn’t when I dried those flowers. Did the traditional and hung them upside down until they were dry. They still maintained their color, mostly. I use the blue silica that changes to pink when they are spent. And I am also using Let’s Resin brand resin. It’s my favorite. I used it to dip the flowers in to seal them. They look like candied roses now. 😂 thanks for the tips in this video! ❤❤❤
Wow I’m here for the same reason (my dad’s flowers) just a month later. I’m sorry for your loss. 😔 Hope you are happy with your project. How did it turn out?
@@calivibes_84 thank you for your condolences. I’m so sorry for your loss as well. Losing a parent, especially one you’re close to, is difficult. He died right before thanksgiving and I’m still trying to process it. I haven’t completed them yet. They are multiple layer projects that take days to complete. I will post them in a video here when iam done
@@KirstenLeafromItaly Aw man the holidays must have been hard I’m sorry 🙁 Oh ok I’ll have to follow you to see how it turns out! I feel like the more I learn about this the more likely I am to just pay someone to do it. It’s a lot! 😬
I searched out videos for the same reason. We just had my mom’s funeral a week ago and i have so many beautiful flowers. I took the sprays apart and put them in vases but now I want to preserve as many as I can.
Hello. A few months ago, I won some Let's Resin resin in your giveaway. I've been using your silicone kit for making molds for a long time, but never tried your resin. I was amazed at how good it is. For bubble-free results, I usually use a 3:1 resin. But your 1:1 resin is incredibly bubble-free! I've tried many different brands, and had a few that I used more than others, but once I tried Let's Resin, I haven't been using anything else. The difference is CRAZY! Thanks again for hipping me to your resin. Oh - and your preserved flowers project is beautiful!
With roses I hold one in my hand, pour silica over the top and shake it to get the gel between the petals. If the centre is too tight you can remove the petals with tweezers
Love this! i wish I would have watched this before I dried my daughters flowers from her funeral. :/ They did not hold their color or shape well. This is beautiful!
Wonderful video, thank you! I plan to do this with my wedding flowers next year but we go on our honey moon for 3 weeks straight after the wedding. Will the flowers be ok in the silica gel for 3 weeks?
Your flowers will be fine in the silica gel. It takes several weeks for the flowers to dry in silica. I have been preserving for years. You will love the outcome.
Thank you for sharing this great tutorial. I have watched quite a few of your tutorials. In one of them you used something to mix the resin together. Where do you purchase the plastic ( looks like a beater) mixer that mixes the resin?
@@LETSRESIN Awesome. I'm new to working with resin actually just about to start for the first time so your videos are very helpful. How long did you wait before you poured another layer. I am starting a flower preservation business and need all the help I can get.
Beautiful work ! Would like to know where can I buy the silicon mold which the depth is more than 6cm ? I want to make one gift to my friend who has her dog died 2 weeks ago, to put a few of her dog’s things together.
You can reuse the silica gel. Once those little orange balls within the mix start changing to a much darker orange or even to a greenish color, it means it has too much moisture within the silica and needs to be refreshed. You then put your oven on low approx 100 degrees Celsius, then in a baking paper-lined metal tray, pour your silica gel evenly onto this, around 2-3cm at most in height, and bake until your balls turn the original light orange again. Let cool briefly then put straight back into an air-tight container. Then you can repeat that method over and over.
Yes the times you can reuse depend on the silica gel's quality. Using resin to fill in the gaps of the flowers first and pouring in layers can greatly decrease the bubbles. Also, a self-degassing resin is also important! 😊😉

Hiii...you have direct put flowers in the mould first....or first you pour resin layer?
Hi!! We put flowers first, but you can see we use wooden sticks to support and fix them in a good position. 😊

Do you pour 12ml/layer & wait for 12hrs between each pour?
Can you re-use the silica gel?
So beautiful it just takes so longggg
Yeah that's true. But we all love how it turns out, so it's definitely worth it🥰
Amazing
Do we need uv light ?? To dry it ??😊
what size is this form???
I need this size its perfect.
What’s the brand of silica gel you recommend to keep the color
I have a question. Can u re-use the silica gel? Or do we throw it out
You can reuse the silica beads
How long did you leave each layer of resin to dry? Also when you do layers do you see the lines between layers in the final product?
Can one reuse the silica gel?
Wonderful video, thank you!

Your flowers will be fine in the silica gel. It takes several weeks for the flowers to dry in silica. I have been preserving for years. You will love the outcome.
For how long do you cure it between each layer? Beautiful work!
Around 6-8 hours until the resin gets into gel phase.😊
Thank u! I’ve been hesitating 😅
Very beautiful. Should we. Have to add layers after allowing drying time to the previous layer? How much dring time for each layer?
Yes, correct. Sometimes need to wait for 8-10 hours for curing
Thank you for sharing this great tutorial. I have watched quite a few of your tutorials. In one of them you used something to mix the resin together. Where do you purchase the plastic ( looks like a beater) mixer that mixes the resin?
How much resin did you need in total to complete this product? Looking to to do but not sure how much I would need
We use around 106oz for this 8 inch square mold. 😊
Gorgeous! Where do you get that mold?
Thanks! The square mold is from our own brand but it is currently out of stock. We do have the 8-inch one without wooden slats now.😊

Thank you for that I always wanted to know own how to dry fresh flowers. For resin.
They remain fresh forever? In the resin.
Yay but It is normal for flowers to fade in resin over time. 🥲
Where can i find the stickers?
We got the stickers from the local offline store.😊
can we reuse the silica gel?
Yes the using time depends on the quality of silica gel you use.😊
Can you tell me what kind of name tag sticker you used?

This presentation answered so many questions regarding this craft. Wonder though . . . where did you get the wood slats to hold the mold? Thank you.
The wooden slats were included in this mold. 😉
Do you have a shop where I can buy premade flower coasters from you guys?
Thanks so much for your support but sorry to say we only offer resin supplies currently.🥰
How much quantity is required to made this
Love this! Did you have to sand any place and if so what did you use?
No, we didn't sand it. That is how it turns out from the mold dierectly.😊
Do you have to dry out the flowers with silica gel?
You can dry them in a slow oven
I saw that you didn’t use the heat gun, not one time, can you tell me if that rasin doesn’t bubble up a lot, that was very nice .
Hey, how to avoid resin layers visible on sides of the finished product. I poured in 6 hour interval and still they're visible
Hii did your problem solved? If yes thn how
You have to sand it down then polish
