Andy Reierson soo many wasted hours on that level. beat it last by one of cars crashing in my/presidents car and bumped in to safety just with the last hit before the car was toast. other bad was MGS last boss fight with bare fists, not as bad as this though.
Same here, GTA - amazing series, both of the ones you showed, BUT, Vice City was the helicopter mission where you have to plant the bombs to destroy that building and in SA is the plane mission in the desert, where you have to go thru the rings thingies (i broke a keyboard there - all the buttons fell all over the room and had to look on the internet what was the layout of them to put them back ...)!
I lived in the Middle East at the time and had the Russian version of the game, with no idea how/if you could change it to English...so the RC Mission in Vice City...on a laptop...in a language you don't understand. Yes! What really made me want to cry in frustration was those 6 lap races. It seems that I would do great in all the laps except for the very last lap. I would either hit a tree or traffic. Then I would have to restart the entire race and towards the last laps of the race, I would get all tensed up because of that.
Alien Isolation is definitely one of the most challenging games I've played (especially the extra missions where you are racing to do it as fast as possible) but that game was just astounding and I think a lot of what makes it frustrating is also how immersed and stressed you are. Those moments you are triumphant though feel like so few other games though!

Yep. San Andreas. The remote controlled airplanes made me rage quit. It was during the missions where you had to blow up the trucks or something. I actually quit for almost a year. I finally went back to try it again after a long time of not playing, and did eventually get past it and beat the game. But man, that was annoying.
Glad that wasn't just me. I just couldn't get past that and the kid would play in shifts trying to beat it. Fucking nightmare. That isn't fun, that is the opposite of fun. lol
~00:48: that twisting method is a classic attempted controller destroying technique. I was a frequent practitioner of said move. The best thing about it is that it is essentially impossible to break an NES controller applying lateral torque with no mechanical advantage but it also sufficed at providing a vent path for aggression. Love the vids, especially all the old ones I've never seen.
Max Payne 1 when your in the dream sequence walking on the skinny blood trails was EXTREMELY hard. Guy that I watched do it on youtube did it with save states which was super cheating.
Oh sweet jesus that was so annoying. I was just a kid playing that shit, the blood and darkness and the crying baby really fucked with me. Took my buddy and I ages to get across that shit...
Totally agree with that. The first time took me about six hours to beat Kahn, because Raiden is lame in Mk9. But when you get the hand to it it's quite a breeze to finish it
If I remember correctly the RC airplane mission in San Andreas (the one where you had to use the RC planes to take out the couriers) was confirmed to be bugged by Rockstar. You did not have enough fuel to complete the mission. They fixed this in the Greatest Hits edition of the game.
Pretty sure the RC missions in San Andreas PS2 version is glitched. The fuel keeps draining, even if the plane isn't flying. I'll have to find the source but I remember reading that somewhere.
its true they patched it in the pc version they are sooo much easier. Also if you got a version of VC & san andreas that was manufactured later on past that release date they were fixed versions
I had the game on Xbox and recall that mission being a right ol' cunt but not as much of a cunt as the helicopter bomb mission in GTA Vice city on Xbox. The timer was incredibly short for that one.
Ps2 version theres 2 or 3 ways to get it done if you fly far first you will never get them I played the game on ps2. Xbox. Xb360. There all different. Xbox you cant get the motor bikes for the casino mission on ps2 it's there which is weird play is the same but missions and stuff are missing
Those GTA flying missions!!! I was stuck for so long on one of them that I had to text a friend to come round and do it for me. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not get past it!
I had it for PC it was never the RC part it was the goddamn motorcycle stunt missions. I could never beat that one. I don't think you need it to complete the game though. The RC one in vice city sucks, but its way worse doing all the ones in SA. I did have to do the heli one like a dozen plus times, and I don't even remember how I managed all the RC ones in SA. For me though any fighting games single player is rage inducing. Only ever play those games with friends. Which can be rage inducing too if you play with someone who is basically pro.
My husbands just passed behind me watching this video and he was like "Yes, thank god im not the only one that hated the Helicopter missions, so many hours lost on them" so ur not alone on that :)
Oh god I remember that remote airplane mission so well in GTA vice city... took me many hours of failed attempts to finally beat it lol I did rage also and almost gave up completely many times. In fact I remember after I beat it my friends persuaded me to help them too as they were all stuck on the same mission and couldn't do it! those controls man. Also i'm not sure it counts but I played an online game called "Runescape" when I was younger. I lost a rare weapon that took me and my friend (who shared accounts) months of grinding to get because of a disconnect. Literally bought this rare weapon and lost it within the hour. I never got it back, can you imagine? that's the day I quit lol
I managed to get by the airplane mission in Vice City (a nice trick is to go in on foot and kill people first). What killed it for me was the LOOONG mission, where you have to rescue your friend in the junkyard before he dies - and there is no checkpoint. Badly placed checkpoints has been a returning thing for Rockstar, I think. GTA 5 is alright though.
Kelsey is my favourite guest on the show EDIT Because I think she's cool and she knows her shit when it comes to gaming. Wanted to clarify because there're some creepy dudes here
Alien Isolation is one of the most difficult games I've ever beaten. It was very well done and those androids were super creepy! (running causes accidents)
Idk I think they’re pretty spot on in the video. I’m like 75% of the way through (based on seeing YT longplays) and I have no desire to finish the game. Tedious and bad level design. Atmosphere is good but idk, it’s outstayed its welcome for me
The Gamecube version of Ikaruga has an incredibly helpful demo mode and slow mode. Using those modes are crucial to learning the game. It's perfect for a beginner and makes the game a lot more accessable and fun. It's a shame the other ports don't have it.
I totally agree with the conversation at the end of the video.. as your collection of games grow, you tend to have less apreciation for difficult games. I have revisited many games from my childhood, only to find them not to be as good as i remember mainly due to cheap deaths.. yea battle toads, im looking at you
Many of the Rare Games for the N64 were very challenging, not unfair but like super super hard and made me rage quit. The boss race in Diddy Kong Racing comes to mind and i still get nightmares from some Blastcorps missions. Goldeneye and Jet Force Gemini also weren't exactly walks in the park. I never finished any of these but i had lots of fun while failing them, because i had no one else to blame but my unwillingness to really sink the teeth into learning the game mechanics.
I would get so angry for some reason I'd bite the controller instead of throwing it against the wall. I think because I knew if I broke it, I wouldn't be able to get another. My controllers had a lot of bite marks. 😯
Topic Tantrum on my ps2 controllers the handles of mine are gnawed to all hell.. As an adult I cringe when I play my ps2 when my fingers go over the groves of frustration that was my childhood.
Yessssss yessssss,i played on ps2 though.Once u lose all your lifes, you start from the beginning of the game.Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.It was my first PS2 game, too.
My first game with Ps4, and still havent finished it ! I loved it but something kept me off, maybe too dark, too scary at times (i have small kids and play with headphones at night), I got lost pretty often etc.I plan to finish it, I dont know when !
Adam Berthiaume I loved Alien Isolation but I did have to take a couple of extended breaks from it after dying and losing an hour of progress because the save spots are so far apart. I know they were going for that old school survival horror style, like Resident Evil with the save rooms, but it was so rage-inducing. still a fantastic game though.
I am so glad to know that I am not the only person who quit Danganronpa at exactly the same point. The weird rhythm game transition was awkward and ... yea. Screw that noise.
Mostly competitive games. Fighting games and shooters. There's just something that makes you feel like shit knowing there's people better than you are and it seems like you're not improving at all. Maybe I just have some insecurities. Lmao.
Nah dude, I know exactly what you mean. I absolutely love Halo to pieces. By far my favorite video games. I love the multiplayer too but God damn does it piss me off. For those exact reasons I believe. Just like "wow, I've been playing these games for 15 years and this douche who picked it up three years ago keeps killing me".
right. I've quit playing HALO 5 with some friends of mine because it wasn't fun for me anymore. Hell as much shit SW:BATTLEFRONT gets that game to me is fun whether or not if I do well.
There's definitely something to be said about the older games that simply made you start over. Those games are hard, but they're meant to be. My frustration for how easy some new games are is what made me go back in time to what I came up with. Practice is to be rewarded with a job well done, nothing wrong with spending almost a year to finish zelda.
This game didn’t make me rage quit and I did beat this game but sometimes I’d be stuck on a level, get pissed, turn it off, but then later come back and do it again. And that game was Heart of Darkness for the PS1, it is a 2D platformer game where you play as a kid who’s dog gets kidnapped and you have to go to a distant planet to rescue him. The interesting thing about this game is the animation, the animation on the kid moving around, jumping, using his weapons etc etc were just soooooo stunning for its time, but the worst part was the animation, it’s so great that your character has tons of lag, when u use your weapon, u have to watch him for like 2 seconds to fire the weapon, but by the time u shoot it you’ve already died from the enemies, and it’s 1 hit kill!! It’s a big trial and error game and you feel like your controller is Brocken half the time
Omg dude, I have so many memories on that game! I used to play it with my sister back in the days.. I remember it was hard as hell as a kid. I came back to it only maaany years later and managed to beat it. As you said, it had a lot of trial and error. Remember the worms? They have a particular behaviour you can easly exploit once you know how to, but at first glance they're so annoying. Once you know the tricks, it's a cake and it's so much fun. Besides, the ending.. what a game! Now I bought a 2nd copy of the game (1st one stoped loading) and I regularly play it from times to times via emulation
I thought the challenge level was perfect. Stick with the sword for the entire game, it had some serious cheese moves. Now the sequels, omg the gauntlet of boss battles at the end was impossible. I spent a hour or more every day for weeks trying to get through the first and second boss just to learn there was a third, no rest no saves. Never found out if that was the end of it either.
Final Fantasy on the 1st PlayStation gave me hell as well. I forget which installment tho it was like 20yrs ago but I remember getting so far and the game kept glitching bad so I hummed the entire system game included down the staircase lol then went and brought another one about an 1hr afterwards
I was on the very last level of Rabbids Travel in Time for the 3ds and I couldn't for the life of me figure it out. I tried for like a solid hour before i just threw down my 3ds and moved on to a more worth-while game.
Trust me, I am a guy and I am attracted to women, But I also respect people enough not to be disgusting. What is with people these days :/. what a shame. sorry Kelsey!
Yeah i cant remember every to quit a GTA game because i couldnt figure out the controlles of the movement of any vihicle! Or it was to hard for me, i think that this games are pretty easy.
I did break a ps 2 controller in 2001 on a Need for Speed game, made me so furious that I broke it in two, no walls involved, repetative twisting in frustration. In Vice City, I loved that game and the RC planes are horrible. I can fly regular planes and helicopters in GTA V, but the rc stuf, count me out. Fun video MJR.
I ca't remember the games off the top of my head, but I remember slamming my controller for the NES many times and I also had teeth marks on it from biting that bitch and yet the controller still functioned
I have a long list of Rage quit games. Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the SNES and Soul Calibur 2 on the DC are at the top. The SF 2 cartridge was actually Frisbeed out of my window and SC2 resulted in 2 broken controllers. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
What game made you RAGE QUIT and almost break a controller?
MetalJesusRocks I got Slain after you recommend it, and it pissed me off about 50% in.
In GTA Vice City where you have to plant the Bombs with that Tiny Toy Helicopter.
MetalJesusRocks probably The Witcher 3 or Dishonored 2 ONLY because you make so much progress and then mess ONE thing up like a wrong decision or you forget to grab something earlier and so you have to reload a save from like an hour ago just to fix it.
Red Ninja. That game was brutal.
I feel you, Slain is some really hard stuff. But I remember being frustrated so hard as a kid because of Rayman 2 and. And Monkey Island, because without any possibility to get the solutions to some points i spent hours just walking around doing nothing but shit. oh no that's not even the worst one, every mission with that RC guy is a playthrough stopper.
the trick is to change the camera angle to the further away 3rd person view. for some reason on the normal camera angle, smoke is unable to shoot accurately. i think the enemys must be visible on screen to actually get hit
Man FUCK that train.
You should make a part 2 of this video asking the other guests what games they've rage quitted on. Would love to hear their responses!
Reggie: Some Japanese Cute-Em'-Up
Kinsey: Some Mario games
The Immortal One: An obscure, expensive Sega Master System beat em' up
John Riggs: A Famicon game he has 3 copies of
Crazy Joe: Some Panasonic disc drive/game hybrid from the 90's that is literally unplayable
Haha, that was way too accurate ^
When I was a kid I broke my genesis version of Earthworm Jim! Had to tape it back together. Still works now 😀
The final mission of Driver made me take the disc out of the PlayStation and crush it in my palms... It was epic. And so very satisfying.
Andy Reierson soo many wasted hours on that level. beat it last by one of cars crashing in my/presidents car and bumped in to safety just with the last hit before the car was toast. other bad was MGS last boss fight with bare fists, not as bad as this though.
Buddy Weizer yooooooooo i know how you feel i still have that game till this day
Yeah that frustrated me to no end. lol But I persevered and finally beat it after many hours of trying to figure out how to save the President.
Wait there are more levels ? I could never pass level 1 . I HATED THAT GAME!!
The final mission of Driver 2 was a killer too. I finally had to cheat on that one after I couldn't beat it after days of trying.
Lets troll MJR by sending him a Alien Isolation CD in a Sierra PC game box :D
KILL IT WITH FIRE!!! ;)

That was rough.
Aced it with ease lol. Thank you Multi Theft Auto mod!
Rage-quit? Nah, thats nothing compared to some of my rage-uninstalling.

Those GTA flying missions!!! I was stuck for so long on one of them that I had to text a friend to come round and do it for me. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not get past it!
I hated that helicopter mission in GTA IV.
It's like this comment section has never seen a woman in their lives before.
Athiestforlife777 lol
Athiestforlife777 hey u got my name lol
atheist 4life whoa! Lol
i dont see any comment's about her? nice comment for likes tho
BaDMrFr0zty you haven't searched very far then
Ever since i saw a comment about Kelsey and her soap box I CANT UNSEE IT lol
Love the shirt! Acclaim were the ones who brought Mortal Kombat to us all. Legends.
Jak 2 for me. Those damn hover board missions
KDhigherthanGPA The fucking drill platform rail shooter mission...
Same here, AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH. Just thinking about that has made me rage comment
KDhigherthanGPA I like her because of her baby face :)
Yeah awesome game but this shit made me scream
OMG yes i remember that now. And that final race at the end of the game
gta vice city helicopter mission makes me cry
bikee shakya me to
Somehow after countless attempts I passed that level (on the PS2).
yeah the in story one for the United Liberty newspaper company in GTA4/IV is also really bad.made me ragequit and sell the game.
bikee shakya Zeros mission is worse.
I don’t get mad at games often. But when I do my go to is the twist of the controller!
My husbands just passed behind me watching this video and he was like "Yes, thank god im not the only one that hated the Helicopter missions, so many hours lost on them" so ur not alone on that :)
lol that's great
Oh god I remember that remote airplane mission so well in GTA vice city... took me many hours of failed attempts to finally beat it lol I did rage also and almost gave up completely many times.
Kelsey is standing on the box again. :D
Blitz: The League, Glover, Just Cause 2, and Ninja Gaiden Black all made me so mad so often. Absolutely some of the most anger inducing games ever.
Kelsey is my favourite guest on the show
EDIT
Because I think she's cool and she knows her shit when it comes to gaming. Wanted to clarify because there're some creepy dudes here
Indeed.Me too.
Malcolm Boyd i like all of them
Reggie is the MAN!
She seems arrogant
You spelled THE IMMORTAL John Hancock wrong. What a sin...
alien isolation is not frustrating at all.....absolutely one of my favorite.
Atmosphere is good but idk, it’s outstayed its welcome for me
If you play Ikaruga long enough, you will unlock unlimited continues.
Most likable crew on TH-cam. I love you guys.
As a kid GTA San Andreas made me rage because I used too many cheat codes and couldnt save anymore
I have revisited many games from my childhood, only to find them not to be as good as i remember mainly due to cheap deaths.. yea battle toads, im looking at you
Ok, I clicked on this when I saw the thumbnail on my suggested videos. Kelsey looks awesome when she's serious!
That grand prix in Burnout 3: Takedown where you have to play as an actual race car which drives like it's on oil.
Also the time attack challenge with that F1 car, I never got the gold medal on that stage, frustrating as hell .
Super starwars on the snes. My girlfriend had to stop me throwing my SNES out of the window of our flat
It's that the one where you are climbing up and up. And when you fall down you have to climb up again?
I broke a ps1 controller on my brothers head playin tekken 3 :)
Fuckin brother always spamming Eddy
Is.. Is he ok?
Seriously? Dont play games like that ever again. Games supposed to be fun, not make you rage.
loser
@stephen schneider damn.... You'd lose to me every time with my Baek.
Is would have made tons of money off of you guys.
My SNES Controller has a lot of Bite marks ;....;
Topic Tantrum on my ps2 controllers the handles of mine are gnawed to all hell.. As an adult I cringe when I play my ps2 when my fingers go over the groves of frustration that was my childhood.
josh brown Haha, that reminds me on my snes controller I have the exact same feeling when I play that system. 😁
This also happened to my SNES controllers while playing smw when i was like 6. Glad I wasn't the only one lol
As a kid I did that to all of my NES controllers. I never understood why. I wouldn't slam or throw the things, I'd just bite the shit out of them.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES.
That game was pure fucking cancer before the term existed for games.
electric seaweed
I don´t continue the game because the cartridge crash near the end the game.
Yessssss yessssss,i played on ps2 though.Once u lose all your lifes, you start from the beginning of the game.Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.It was my first PS2 game, too.
*i hate that game so much too*
Alien Isolation was epic! Loved every minute, even getting killed by the alien. 😀
I was lucky with the glitches, maybe I was nerding so hard I didn't notice. I'd kill for a sequel.
AI broken? Are you kidding? That game has like one of the best and most unpredictable AI's I've ever seen. GTFO.
I second that, no other game has captured the tension of the original film.
Metal Jesus........come on man! Those RC missions with enough practice are easily beatable
Grand Theft Auto 3..... that one mission where you have to scoop up all those random cars all over Liberty City and deliver them in perfect condition.
Paul Yurkowski such time consuming. Not much a pain but God damn you mess up once START OVER
Games dont make me ragequit, they just make me try harder.
All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ!!!!
busta!
"Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Shao Kahn." lol
The thumbnail brought me here...
Ninja Gaiden NES stage 6-2, need I say anymore?
P.S did eventually beat it, but never again.
I got past 6-2 for the first time last week. Made it to the final boss, died in ten seconds, turned the game off when I saw it goes back to 6-1 lol
I beat the three games for NES. I don´t play never more
Yes, say more.
Oh yeah. FFS that wasn't even fair.
I'm surprised you didn't name a fighting game. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is a game that made me rage quit and I've notice gamers rage quit on me.
World of Warcraft - Smashed the keyboard. Call of Duty - unfriended people.
Animal Crossing is the one that got me to rage quit.
+Henry Petty I own a Wii u and would never buy that trash. lol
Animal Crossing is addictive, the haters dont know what they're missing lol
I am so glad to know that I am not the only person who quit Danganronpa at exactly the same point. The weird rhythm game transition was awkward and ... yea. Screw that noise.
YES! i did the controller twist in the past. been there. that's when you WANT to put it through the wall... but you know better XD
i want to love gran turismo 4 but damn the dedication you need sometimes
Mostly competitive games. Fighting games and shooters. There's just something that makes you feel like shit knowing there's people better than you are and it seems like you're not improving at all. Maybe I just have some insecurities. Lmao.
xgraffitix what's metal Jesus real name?
xgraffitix playing sports games online
ghost runner33454332 554345677 why're you asking him?
Nah dude, I know exactly what you mean. I absolutely love Halo to pieces. By far my favorite video games. I love the multiplayer too but God damn does it piss me off. For those exact reasons I believe. Just like "wow, I've been playing these games for 15 years and this douche who picked it up three years ago keeps killing me".
right. I've quit playing HALO 5 with some friends of mine because it wasn't fun for me anymore. Hell as much shit SW:BATTLEFRONT gets that game to me is fun whether or not if I do well.
FOLLOW THE TRAIN CJ 😤 GTA SAN ANDREAS
OMG YES! it took me YEARS to beat that mission LOL
new wave city Fuck yeah. had to jump the bike on top of the train.... lol.
new wave city i beat that on my first try i dont get what people found so hard about it.
yep.
it took me a few weeks to finally finish it, by that time i gave up playing it afterwards.
Cross traffic in Need for speed made me quit rage the whole series
the only thing that makes me brake a controler is the lenght of its cable ^^
Man she is still imo the cutest thing even if she has grumpy face on the thumbnail.
Gordon Ramsay's Hell Kitchen for Nintendo DS. He told me "Don't You Ever Come Back To My Kitchen!!!!"
I've completely rage quit at Mario Party. Put a new star right damn in front of cpu again! 😠😠😠
Bones Jackson what's metal Jesus real name?
Jason I believe.
His name is just "Jesus."
Ninja Gaiden on Xbox. Sooo dammm hard!
Peace of cake
Danny Ocean try it on the nes 😉
I thought the challenge level was perfect. Stick with the sword for the entire game, it had some serious cheese moves.
Now the sequels, omg the gauntlet of boss battles at the end was impossible. I spent a hour or more every day for weeks trying to get through the first and second boss just to learn there was a third, no rest no saves. Never found out if that was the end of it either.
I loved the 1st game!! It feels so good to beat!!! The Mother of Dark Souls!!
Kelsie looks like Agent Madani from the Punisher Netflix series
BLASTO! man I so wanted to love this game.
Metal Jesus...truly does rock! Love your vids.
Doom Eternal, Ace combat 7...damn too hard!
I just finished Ace Combat 7. Game took me 20 hours to complete on normal. I died a lot. You are right, it is hard.
Yup that came is just brutal, I been playing on ultra-violent but don't even attempt the gates.
Final Fantasy on the 1st PlayStation gave me hell as well. I forget which installment tho it was like 20yrs ago but I remember getting so far and the game kept glitching bad so I hummed the entire system game included down the staircase lol then went and brought another one about an 1hr afterwards
Maybe it was 8? Because 7 is kinda easy (except for a few optional bosses)
I was on the very last level of Rabbids Travel in Time for the 3ds and I couldn't for the life of me figure it out. I tried for like a solid hour before i just threw down my 3ds and moved on to a more worth-while game.
The turret mission in san andreas really got me! Trying to shoot all those little planes was so not easy with how slow you could look around
Trust me, I am a guy and I am attracted to women, But I also respect people enough not to be disgusting. What is with people these days :/. what a shame. sorry Kelsey!
yea, some of them need to grow up.
Ikaruga was designed for arcade so of course its hard as balls xD
those gta rc races were so easy as a kid. lol
Yeah i cant remember every to quit a GTA game because i couldnt figure out the controlles of the movement of any vihicle! Or it was to hard for me, i think that this games are pretty easy.
same the only gta mission to ever really stump me was the sanandreas dirt bike mission.
I crushed my ps3 controller in both my hands, I was dual shocked.
Dude, that Acclaim shirt is sick
Oh no.
I ca't remember the games off the top of my head, but I remember slamming my controller for the NES many times and I also had teeth marks on it from biting that bitch and yet the controller still functioned
Brooklynboi Productions Biting the controller!?
Made my day! xD
Brooklynboi Productions I did the same this as a kid... Lol
I have a long list of Rage quit games. Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the SNES and Soul Calibur 2 on the DC are at the top. The SF 2 cartridge was actually Frisbeed out of my window and SC2 resulted in 2 broken controllers. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
