    love the ps2. that psx backwards compatibility is -HUGE-, we're never getting that kind of treatment again. great games in all genres plus tons of wacky titles. The Red Star was lesser known for a few reasons.
    The bankruptcy of Acclaim caused it to be delayed so long that it came out after the PS3 had already been released.
    Also it was never available in retail stores, only from the website, mail order from ads in the comic book it was based on, and at comic book conventions, etc.
    But it did actually sell well enough that it should not be considered rare.

    • @cbarger2327
      @cbarger2327 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was definitely available at retail stores. I bought it at a Best Buy in Tulsa (they had a bin full of copies) and I also saw it at more than one Game Stop. It looked to me like they made too many copies to sell, since last-gen games weren't exactly flying off the shelves. I believe it was priced as a budget game.

    • @mobilehounds
      @mobilehounds 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There also a version for the original Xbox. It was never officially released because the company went bankrupt, but you can find the iso for the complete game on the net.

Such a marvelous console, would be cool to see you guys covering some more obscure PS2 titles, considering it has well over 3, 874 games so I doubt you would run out of games to talk about for year to come.

    I actually got SEVERE motion sickness playing Way of the Samurai 3 on PS3! It was so bad I had to go to the hospital. It was a part of the game where the screen was filled with enemies all around you, and as I was playing my room started spinning and I felt very ill. Took about a week for my vision to get back to normal. So strange because I’ve played hundreds of different video games in my life and that’s the ONLY time that ever happened to me. Sucks cause it was a fun silly game but no way am I ever playing any of those again lol. It’s like when you get really sick after eating a certain food then never want to eat that again.

GrimGrimoire was my favorite PS2 game at the time it came out and Lillet Blan is my favorite character from that game (it was an RTS actually). I remember The Red Star on PS2 (this game was also going to be on Xbox as well, and was to be published by Acclaim). Next episode I wanna see Army Men RTS,

    PS2 hidden gem: Bombastic. A great puzzle game, where you have align dices by their digits to make them explode and then connect them into chains. You do it with use of Aqui, who rolls the dice by walking on top of it. The game has a high learning curve, especially the trial modes, but it can suck you in once you know how to roll dices.

      Also I think people are exaggerating somewhat. I got Splash down under 10 dollars. Ju on for the wii I found for 2 bucks in a pawn shop. So sometimes it's just a matter of where you look. Ps2 games are definitely not rare.
      Furthermore, I had someone give me a genesis and multiple 40+ dollar games for free. I've got a ps2 and a sega cd and a saturn all for free. The whole point of game collecting in my mind is the fun in finding the best deals. Not just sitting on amazon and ebay hoping to buy things for 5 dollars.

    Way of the Samurai was one of the first games I played on the PS2. Definitely one of my favourites for the system, it’s fairly short but it’s meant for multiple playthrough’s to unlock all the costumes and swords.
    If you can find it for a decent price don’t think about it just buy it!

    Never judge a game by it's cover. I purchased God Hand when I was younger but was afraid it would be some generic game because the cover was corny looking I guess u can say. Man was I wrong about that. God Hand another hidden gem

    Hey, one detail you guys missed is that Spy Fiction was directed by Swery65, the same dude who went on to make Deadly Premonition, D4 and is now working on a kickstarter project called The Good Life. He''s pretty cool!
    He's also got Extermination on the PS2, which is another hidden gem, IMO.

    Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is absolutely amazing. It's just such a shame that the sequel End of Darkness sucks so damn bad. Or does it suck so bad because Twilight of the Spirits was so good and made it look worse by default? Either way, Twilight of the Spirits is a great game.
    Always wanted to pick up Seven Samurai as it came out around the same time the amine Samurai Seven did. Nice to hear it's a good game, I might have to pick it up still.
    Another game that never seems to get any love is MS Saga: A New Dawn. It's a Gundam turn based RPG. I know it's not the best game I played but I love it anyway. I find myself going back to it and Twilight of the Spirits every so often.

      Yes, I absolutely loved Arc the Lad: TOTS, I literally DM'd Reggie almost two weeks ago and asked him about ATL and he sent a picture (along with a few other games for this video) with Twilight of the Spirits sitting near the top. It made me really happy lol. Reggie is a really awesome dude!

    Just last night I unwrapped my copy of Dai Senryaku VII Exceed that I had had for some time. It's a hex-grid, turn-based military strategy game that is very deep but easy to play, control-wise. There are hundreds of units to choose from, including ground forces like tanks and mobile artillery, to air and naval forces. It's all in English and is very fun if you're into tactical modern warfare games. Definitely a hidden gem, I doubt many people will have heard of the series itself let alone this particular entry =)

    I still dont know what wrong with you people. If it goes up its not metal jesus fault. Its stupid resellers and scalpers that are aware of the popularity of this channel and try to take advantange because they know people might look out for this games. I think reggie and metal jesus are just trying to share their love and passion for games, just like I do and thousands of gamers on the internet. Thanks. I respect other people opinions but i still think this channel should not be made guilty. If do lets blame pat the nes punk or avgn or any other popular youtuber.

      It's more annoying that they are so defensive and staunchly deny that they have any impact on price rises, than it is that the prices rise. It's easy to look up and find pretty clear correlation between prices rises of games immediately after being featured in one of their video's They aren't the cause of the price raise, but they are a contributing factor for sure.
