The MSR platform has so many high quality options that it is difficult to say one is the best. This is a respectable list but there are just soooo many awesome choices to cover a broad range of applications.
Does H&K have anything that could make this list, I have their VP9 and would like to stay in the hk fam. I should also add for left handed shooters.
I finished 1 month ago a new upper for the old 17 Remington .
If someone wants a AR 15 for home defense and has concerns of a bullet hitting someone a house over with a 223 then the 17 Rem is just what you want because the 17 cal 15.5 - 20 - 25 grain bullets won't go through many walls but is deadly and even grewsome wounding and killing affect from small bullets traveling at 4040 FPS .

You need to include slot for home built rifles. Yes home built, if a person knows what they're doing and uses all top quality parts from all the rifle makers you listed plus others they can build rifles that are every bit as high quality and I think even better. Starting with a matched set of 7071-T6 upper and lower, barrel from FN, Ballistic Advantage, Faxon, Wilson, Danial Defense and others. BCM, Geissele or PSA premium bolt carrier. Maybe a trigger from CMC, Timney, Geissele plus several more. Handguards from Midwest Industries or Geissele. Well you get my drift, if the builder is competent and has all the tools needed they can build a world class rifle right at home.
Armalite makes some of the best AR rifles on the market. No question about it.
Bipod, vertical foregrip, and it is key mod... I see lots of mall cops with that setup, but only if they are wearing the ninja shoes.

My springfield saint victor 7.5" in 5.56 is all the rifle i need👌🏾. Nice video thow👍🏾
7.5" barrel is a bit short. 11-12" barrel in 556 is minimum.
Mine gets the job done very well out to 300 yards. Thats all i need. I dont hunt. Its just for self defense.

Why doesn't anyone mention the Anderson AM-15? I have two in both rifle and pistol. RF-85 treated so they NEVER need oil. Just water and soap to clean. Best shtf weapons in my opinion.
It's not an assault weapon. It's a semi-automatic rifle. Assault weapons fire in full automatic

Competition guns are not the best choice for self defense guns.
for beginners maybe, but at this point, any gun can be a good gun considering the severe shortage of firearms and ammunition depending where you live and which state. Under Biden presidency there's a planned ban on all sales of firearms/ammunition/parts/kits for online sales.
