    Pretty dang nice, triple payout!!! You have a working ac, two nice copper bars for the stack, and you won at the slots. Awesome video and Happy Birthday brother!!!

      Thanks so much brother!! I actually loaned that working AC to my friend whom is renovating one of his apartments, after I swapped the knobs from the busted one of course 🤣. Overall a pretty decent teardown and melt. Thanks for watching and the birthday wishes bro! 😎🍻👊🏼

    Hey S2C! First, thx for the shout out again. I liked this video a lot because there was much of scrapping in it. at the end it was a mess but you got a large amount of copper out. the graphite in the molds seemed to help not to have too many holes in the bars. on top, a little profit on the slot machine. as always thank you for your work to bring me joy watching your videos! see you soon. PS: Belated Happy Birthday 👊🍻🎂 from Germany

      You’re very welcome my friend! I’m glad you liked it! I do try to keep the tear downs trimmed of all the useless stuff like fumbling with tools and this and that. The editing process does get tiring but after it is all set and done, I can definitely appreciate the work that went into it. Not a bad pile of copper for sure! I have an even bigger AC that I’ll be scrapping in the next few weeks! The graphite molds do seem to help a bit, but still not 100% perfect. I’ll get there one day! Thanks a bunch for watching my friend and see you on the next one! Have a great week! 😎🍻👊🏼👍🏼

    I agree, scrapping Ac units are a pain in the ass. Nice tear down though. two nice chunky bars to add to the stack. I do have to say your editing skills are on point. Wish I had the patience to do that

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh they are definitely a pain in the butt but well worth tearing apart. Thanks brother I really appreciate it. I think I spend on average of 4-6 hours of editing per video. Its very tiresome especially when I have a deadline but well worth it in the end. Pretty soon I’ll be putting all my vids on DVD’s for my own enjoyment 🙂. Thanks for watching brother! 😎🍻👊🏼

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks bro! I really do hate scrapping them because of how messy and the strain you get cutting the pipes out of the rads oh and getting the stator out of those compressors!!!! But in the end, well worth it for the copper! The slot has been on a roll lately!😎🍻👊🏼

    Happy Belated Birthday. Sorry I didn't catch that sooner. Nice shirt too.
    I was thinking, with those holes in those ingots, why not use a bore bit to drill a divit into them? I think it would give them unique character in your stack.

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks and no worries brother! My friends wife did a great job on the shirt and my sister made one too with a different slogan for me. I haven’t seen her recently so I’m real eager to see which option she went with. That is a pretty good idea actually! I really wish I could get the “perfect bar” consistently. There’s only a couple of those hidden in the stack 😎🍻👊🏼

    Great video bro iv thought about melting stuff I pickup but my yard won't take melted metals

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks bro! You should melt it down if you want to hang onto and stack it for a rainy day. That was my plan since day 1. I do cash in some stuff like larger aluminum that I’m too lazy to cut up, circuitboards, irony aluminum, low grade wire, batteries, etc. one thing you can do is sell ingots on ebay for way higher than scrap value. You can also contact a local foundry which more than likely pay top dollar. You do have options if you decide to melt down the metals 🙂🍻👊🏼

    I like the video and been scraping and making bars but no local scrap yards will buy them even with a video of me melting wire and they have a metal analyzer they said there buyer won’t take it and I can’t sell it on marketplace so I have just been keeping it in 5 gallon buckets for now

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can sell them on eBay for a higher profit if you want to go that route. If you have a large supply of them, you can look into working directly with a foundry and see if you can unload them that way. Personally I would only melt down #2 copper and sell your #1 copper as-is.

    How do you get the refrigerant out?

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  ปีที่แล้ว

      In this particular video, that AC didn’t have any refrigerant inside. Upon inspection there was corrosion around one of the copper loops and I think it leaked out from there. I always test AC’s as I find them. If they work, I sell them on Marketplace. The ones that don’t work get scrapped out on the channel. I always use caution when cutting the lines, I have been fooled before.

    • @Dubby522
      @Dubby522 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting! I’ve scrapped a window unit before and the previous owners said the Freon leaked out and when I cut the copper, Freon/R-22 spewed in my face and it smelled horrible!

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh geez! You’re lucky you didn’t go blind! I do have a method for the “just in case there is refrigerant still inside scenarios” I use the loppers that I showed in this video, I slightly put pressure on the line and if I hear a slight hiss from the line, I don’t continue to cut the line. I take a wet towel and cover the line where it is leaking out from. The wet towel will absorb the refrigerant and not keep pissing out into the atmosphere. A little overkill as the scrapyards around here release that refrigerant all the time and the garbage trucks compact the units when they collect the trash.

      I should rephrase, I hate scrapping AC compressors! They are so oily and dirty and cutting into the outer steel shell is a pain in the butt. However I still scrap them because like you said they are loaded 🙂
