You can actually cry anywhere in Paris, no one will notice you. My favourite stays in a bistrot at night : just me, a glass of wine and that waiter trying hard to ignore me.

Advice for all the Americans-Australians-British tourist coming in France : You have to call the waiter when you are ready to order or to pay and leave or when you need something. In France it's disrespectful for a waiter to interrupt the clients every 5 minutes to ask if everything is okay. We let the consumer envoy his time. For us, it's a lack of respect and professionalism if the waiter brings you the bill without asking for it, it's like if he says ; I want you to pay right now and leave as fast as possible, so we can have other clients on your table.

JulienBch exactly!! 👌it annoys me when I hear about waiters always being awful in Paris. You just have to know the rules like in any other country. We sure do have bad waiters but I travel a lot and have seen those in many countries including America where service is supposed to be great. Just learn about the customs where you go 😊

That's the mentality in the US. The waiters want you to leave so they can fill up the tables for those who are waiting. It's definitely not relaxed in the states but this "rushed" feeling depends on what type of restaurant you go to.

I recently did a month long exchange to paris and I discovered this place just up the road from where I was going to school and they have insanely good crepes. It's on the rue Saint-Jaques in the 5ème arrondissement and it's just up the road from Lycée Louis Le Grand (where i was going) and La Sorbonne. Also in that area (thought i think it's in the 6ème) there was this amazing american diner called HD diner I think so those might be my favourite places hahaha

Les grands voisin is an awesom place it's in the 14e arrondissement between Denfert-Rochereau and Montparnasse there are café and restaurant which are reaaally cheap and you can just lay down on a sunbed with "un verre de rosé" It's a really great place

my place that i ugly cried was in a tiny apartment in mont martre, i had just arrived and i had gotten the call from home that my mother was sick (she is completely fine now) and i had so many mixed emotions and i was scared to be in the city alone and i pretty much had a nervous breakdown. on the kitchen floor. after like 40 min i wiped my tears and walked out into the streets, it was spring, an insanely cute guy asked me for a cigarette in french and i did the stupid "-eh, english?" response we use when we get put on the spot. i blushed and we smiled, i gave him the cigarette and we said bye. after that i went back to my apartment and started unpacking. that short trip to paris changed my life in a way.

Compared to other big cities, Paris is probably one of the most affordable! The metro is "cheap" and the AirBNB options are a lot cheaper than other major cities! WHY YOU THINK I #SHUTUPANDGO THERE SO OFTEN?
