- This review is the 4th video in a series detailing all the component parts of my car-camping setup. Designed for mounting atop an SUV roof rack, I'd recommend the Ironman 4x4 Awning for anyone living on the road.

Came for the awning review, stayed because im planning a Big Bend trip.
Heck yeah!! Big bend is the best. Definitely plan for camping at the off-road primitive sites if your vehicle is capable. Worth it!

Just curious what are you using to film out there? You can see into the shadows and the sky which I can never get with my gear. Great content, as always. :)

To be clear, the “out there” footage of big bend was in the iPhone. The opening shots of the awning were a friends camera… Sony something

Since this was posted a year ago, how is the awning holding up now? Do you leave it on your vehicle all the time? Any problems with the bag, zipper or awning fabric? Do you have to treat the fabric at all (waterproofing, etc.)?
All great questions. It's held up extremely well! I've got it mounted 24/7 and the only noticeable wear and tear is fading to the color of the fabric.

There is an L-bracket that comes with, but I happen to be using something made of trash and welded together. Long story...
On a scale from easy to annoying, what’s it like to set this up with two people as opposed to solo?
Kinda the same deal as setting up a tent. With the right person, objectively easier. With the wrong person, annoying. But arguably easy to do solo regardless.
