    Hi Richard and Miss Teresa, Love this channel!! I really like hearing Miss Teresa speak with her Texas drawl, but I want to hear Richard and the info he brings to the channel, so, the cordless is nice, but if Richard likes the air better well he is gonna have to get a head set with a mic!! Thanks for Y'alls knowledge!!

Where do we find them? I know we have to be careful not to gouge the surface.

    • @jraydelatorre
      @jraydelatorre ปีที่แล้ว

      @@51-FS it would take a month just to upload the video that takes five or six hours to record and it would have to be done in at least half hour to one hour segments. And I always hate that the expression of people giving away tips, tricks, secrets of the trad when it’s just a method of making it better that’s my opinion. I went through hell with companies like TCI when they refused to give me the information needed to correct a transsmission they screwed up with their creed secrets.

    Sound is better - the impact didn't blast as loudly compared to your voice as the last video, so you're on the right track, sounds like. Great vid as usual!
    These older GMT-800 series trucks always go BIG miles before the transmission fails. My '07 GMT-900 4L60E burnt up 3rd & 4th at 103k miles. Fluid was still cherry red, too! Clutch was all in the pan, black. Failed like a light switch - one minute everything was fine, the next I had a small 2nd gear flare, then several stops later, no 3rd gear at all. Undoubtedly something GM cheaped out on inside - par for the course!
    Got a question for ya, Richard ... I replaced that trans I just mentioned with a built one. They got rid of the PWM converter lockup, just like you guys do. Has a stock FTI replacement converter. When I'm driving a bit over 40 MPH, the converter locks up, and I'm running about 1,200 RPM or so. If I put my foot in it just enough to where it doesn't unlock, or, if I do this towing a trailer, the engine RPM starts hunting - varying about 200 RPM give or take every 3 seconds or so. The heavier the load the more pronounced this is. Is this the converter clutch slipping? Has to be some kind of slippage going on. It's really strange. Fluid is still nice and red. It has done this since I first installed the transmission - now it's got 22,000 miles and change on it. The factory converter would unlock VERY easily, so this never happened until the new one was put in. This one locks up nice - you can actually feel it unlike from the factory. It's been driving me nuts trying to figure out what is happening here. I do lots of long towing trips hauling cars and trucks, so I want to make sure this isn't a potential problem. Thanks!

    • @richardteresacricheducatio3542
      @richardteresacricheducatio3542  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like the transmission still has the PWM capability depending on how they block the valve or they put a different valve and spring in there they do have a valve kit that has a spring and a valve that still keeps the PWM in there The only true way to block it is the way I do it

However, they will ask that question at the part store they want to know what wheel drive you have your model engine size transmission type but there shouldn’t be any problem as long as you are using the correct filter depth most likely on the 03 it’s gonna be a deep pan filter the shallow pan filters for the most part went away 1999 early 2000 as they transitioned over to the LS engine shallow pans for the most part was used with the old model GEN one and 2. 5.7 L engine.
