I recently put a new deck in where some existing lawn and irrigation was. Although I pulled all the poly out and worked around it, some of the heads were spraying all over my deck every few days during it's overnight watering. You inspired me to get out there this morning and fix it. Now she's working better then ever. Thanks for the inspo
A couple of years ago this was the most relaxing channel on TH-cam, mostly just a guy mowing his lawn, but now there's excavators and pipes and electronics (But Ben's narration is still calm and reassuring)
What a great job Ben. Your knowledge is awesome and also the application of all the controls and wires. It was so confusing to me being a former Nurse and not a Sparky Lol. Seeing the first sprinkler coming on made me smile, well done and cant wait for this season/year to progress.
Holy heck Ben! I started as a groundsman a few months ago here in Auckland and I found your Chanel on the work computer. I watched one video on break and was hooked. I went back right to the beginning and I’ve watched every video. The growth and journey has been insane. I’m glad I can be one of the people who can say I was round before you out irrigation and flowerbeds in the old place lol. It’s been crazy to see your little ones grow up too. Your mrs seems to have a cracking sense of humour, every time she’s popped up she’s made me laugh. I can’t wait to see how the new green goes, it sure is a far cry from by the bins out front of the old place lol. I can’t wait to see the toro laying some stripes on some cool season grass too. It’s awesome to see you doing your thing buddy and I’ll sure be around for all of it. Cheers mate! 🎉
awesome progress bro! - For the fans, the colour code for the 10core control cable is 1-10 , brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, voilet, grey white, black. (so using black as common and white as master valve is a mint idea, the rest of the zones can follow the colour code. Of course you don't have too, just makes it a bit universal if someone else ever wants to work on your system it might make their life easier.
Love the videos always so much to learn from you, here in WA the industry standard as far as I have learnt is Red as the MV/Pump, black as common and any other colour is the “active” or “station” wires. Interesting to see the difference!
Great video Ben loving the project and all the different details of building the green and course cannot wait to see that grass start growing and what machines you’ll use to cut it all the best Craig 😅
I am interested in the sand you used. Thought of making my own build a run through mound. At moment thought of just bunker sand, so I could play bunker shots and didn't have to worry about grass growth.
So good mate, irrigation goes over a lot of peoples heads so it’s great you trying to explain how it all works. Personally love doing irrigation, can’t wait to see some seed germinate
First of all, great series, love to watch it. But i have a question, form reliability point of view, would you pick up rain bird esp-lxme2 pro or hunter acc2?
Does the "black common wire" at each sprinkler head valve just tee into the cable. Or did you cut it and use a screw fitting to join them, resulting in 2 black wires and a common off the sprinkler head all in the joiner?
Brilliant job as always mate. Question on the quick connect valve. To get water flow to that you must need the mast valve open? How do you only open your master valve without opening one of the stations at the same time?
I’ll need to manually turn the master valve on. I could eventually add an electronic valve in front of the quick connect valve but I don’t mind walking up to the shed to manually turn on the master. It’s only about 90m away
Great Vid Series Ben! What are your temps supposed to be like at seeding time down under (Dyer Straights Love Them)? Peace and God's Love my Brother! Chad Upstate NY
@@LawnTips talking about learning things....I have taken over a couch lawn, I have the broad leaf weeds under control and the couch growing back in rapidly...however...there are many 'tuffs' of Buffalo Grass through out....I was hoping when I dethatched it would weaken down a bit...but the exact opposite has occurred...do you have any 'tips'? I don't believe there is any 'chemical' help available in NZ...that won't also damage the couch...
Yo mate what up welcome to another lawn tip vid, what happened to the 'yo mate what up welcome to another lawn tip vid'??? We had one week of it then back to nothing😥😥 love it bro cant wait for the seed to start rye will be up in no time no doubt and looking forward to a few more vids 🤙🤙
Hey mate, The guys at reece have designed it to run like this. The swing arms on the greens sprinkler heads are only 25mm. It does seem backwards, but even when I was on the golf course and we had 200mm mainline pipe and the outlet from the pumps were only around 30-40mm (can’t remember the exact size sorry)
I’m definitely a rain bird guy but not a RZXe guy. It doesn’t do programs. You set schedule for each zone and then if they conflict the stack the run times. I prefer actual programs for organising the schedules of all the zones. The TM2 is better and my preferred entry level Rainbird model.
Ah and when doing the manual run on the app you can’t set a time for each and have them all run in order. You have to run one then come back and run the other. Get the TM2 Ben, it’ll bug you eventually.
Perfect wake up and its like watching the adult versions of tosted TV !!! 🎉🎉
😂 the memories

All the way from South Africa 🇿🇦
Lawn specialists and sparky, jack of all trades. Looks amazing! 👏
Definitely don’t have sparky skills 😂
@@LawnTips that depends did you leave the insulation on the ground after stripping the wires back like a typical sparky would?
Just loving this content! There's nothing out there like it. Can't wait to see it come in!
Thanks mate! I’m having lots of fun with this project

Ooh - getting excited now - can see it all coming together 👏
I do love your green. If I wasn't on the other side of the country I would ask if I could come and play once it's finished
This is so good mate, Schnitty loves it too
Love the work Ben! Makes my weekend starts so much better watch a Lawntips vid before I start on my lawn etc!
A few videos a week sounds GREAT Benny! Love the work mate.
Saturday morning green thumb fix. Love it

Pumped! Can’t wait to see the final leg unfold. Then I’ll cheers to you putting on it.
The green reminds me of a reverse 16 at Augusta National. 16 comes in right to left with the pond in the front left. This is like that, flipped.

wonder how nice a ball rolls on the dirt? excited to see it coming along well!!!
Excellent, so looking forward to following this process.
Will you use something like an Ezi-flow to feed the area?
Iooking Good Ben. Sounds awesome with more vids in the week. I just want more!! 😁
Have you got a flow metre installed on the system? How much water is this taking a week?
Love it mate!!!
Great work. Make it look so easy!

Well done Ben.
You should install some flood lights as well nothing like night gold cooler weather
You planning to add an Ezflo type system to the green irrigation or best to spray?
What’s the latest you could seed bent in nsw?
Yay love that there is going to be more vids
Will you get one of the fertiliser tanks built into irrigation system? Can’t remember what it’s called. Ez flow maybe? Think u had it on ur old house
You going to be using the ezyflo to spoon feed the green?
Living the dream!

that screw thingy-ma-jig to connect wires is called a 'marrette'

Very cool 👍
Are you going to fumigate the collar or round up it?
Thanks mate
Hey mate, just wondering why you have sized the discharge line of the pump in what looks to be 1inch pipe when the rest of your system is in DN63?
Hey mate,

@@LawnTips yeah right, thanks for the reply. Loving the vids and the little daschy!
So do you have to run the irrigation 24/7 for that plan? Are you worried about drying up your water supply?
Definitely not 24/7
Only 1-2 times a day 👌🏽
So exciting
What's your rye seed preference?
Are you planning on installing irrigation to other areas of the yard?
Sure am.
When the time comes this controller will be switched across to my front lawn and I will use a different controller for the course
Anyone know what the song is called that starts at 13:36?
Here we go mate: th-cam.com/video/psRTVtON2U4/w-d-xo.html
@@LawnTips Thanks man! Such a chill song.
How long after seeding the green until you’re putting Ben?
I’d say around 6-8 weeks
Hey mate, you adding a small fairway?
2 fairways actually haha. Just so I can trial different grass types and have a chipping area for the kids on one side
not to be a pain but are you able to link to some of these products im doing landscaping and would love to try copy most of this thanks
Will be making a seeding schedule in the next week or two that will be similar
You allowed to wire that up in your state?
Sure am
It’s 12V so no ticket required
Awesome to know I’m looking at adding some stations
Love rainbird, but wish the app was better. Really designed to set it and forget it, not run it as you see fit.

whats a conjoot?
Not sure if you’re teasing my accent or you are genuinely asking
Conduit not needed for low voltage.
Ben I am worried that silico stuff sounds like the shit telsta use and everyone knows how that shit constantly fucks up
