    I only came across your video that inspired me to consider redesigning the irrigation system for my two-acre yard. I purchased the house not long ago, and while the previous owner had maintained beautiful landscapes, I require an automated irrigation system. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to manage the daily upkeep as the previous owner did

    Loving this series. Always knew it took a bit of engineering and skilled landscaping to build a proper golf hole but I can appreciate the expertise that goes into it especially when you're doing a lot of it single handedly.

    You have water in the air finally!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations. It’s been a long process to get the water through the sprinkler from the well to the feed line, tanks pumps electrical. Crazy. So good to see.

    articulated risers (swing arms) are also great for allowing the sprinkler to move up and down when being driven over, this can prevent the base of the sprinkler or the pipe thread from breaking/warping Also after several top dressings, it allows for the sprinklers to be adjusted up

  • @brabhamg
    @brabhamg ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Great work, Ben (and the helpers!!). Just a thought: the elevation change from the tanks down to the sprinklers could add a little to the static pressure, hard to tell on camera how large the drop is but it could be adding 0.5 to 1 bar of pressure. Have you considered a pressure gauge in the ring at the green level just to check? Probably not an issue, but just curious if it would make much difference

    • @davefarley1960
      @davefarley1960 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Every meter of elevation will increase the pressure of 9.807 kPa 👍

      Did u get it tapped into ur main line?
      Im able to run 8 mp rotators off my garden tap watering about 120m2. Im only in a rental so no below ground system. But id like to install a below ground system and run it off the tap using dc valves n controllers. Just for fun and something to do and give it it a go, id easily be able to get it fitted between inspections theyd never know lol. How did u dig ur trenches?

  • @davefarley1960
    @davefarley1960 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice work mate! I can't recommend the swing arms/articulated risers enough. When I did my system, I did it with PVC and elbow risers. If there was any error in the vertical angle, it could be noticed in the sprinkler head, so now I've dug them up and installed the articulated risers, the same way you have.

    What type of grass will you use for greens ? In our area of the US we used bent grass greens forever until about 5 to 10 years ago and gradually most courses are going to the hybrid Bermuda . They actually have a hard time keeping these greens from getting too fast .

    So cool watching these vids, great work mate.
    QQ: Is there a reason you choose to use (it looks like 25mm) pipe as your source, i.e. from the tank to the pump, and then switch over to 63mm? I'm no plumber, but it seems like that might become the bottleneck for water flow and pressure later when you want to run more valves at the same time.

    Would you put an air release valve anywhere?

    • @LawnTips
      @LawnTips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely could but not too big of an issue on this size setup. If I was running a few greens and fairways then I would for sure.
      You still need to ramp up a system like this anyway even if you have a few air release valves

    Hey dude my wife and i have just bought 8000m2 of land thats being built on and ive actually bought a 2nd hand 2500B John Deere. im also a plumber and i love the idea of larger sprinkers over the smaller ones for our yard. do you have the reece code for the sprinkler heads so i can look it up on my account?

    • @LawnTips
      @LawnTips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate!
      Congrats on the new property!
      You’ll have to get a design done and request the greens sprinklers. Because they are more commercial,reece buys them in when in need. You won’t find it on their maX phone app.
