Just a phenomenal feat - congrats! Like others saying that huge credit to the sponsors AND the Mrs too. To add to this, your effort on this & commitment to showing us, has been incredible - from the actual build, to all these recording, editing, updates, etc. Thank you for sharing!
When you said back in 2021... You have made soo much progress.... Makes me realise how little I have done myself in comparison, and how long I have been watching you progress, started back in your old place when I just wanted to improve my own lawn and I came here to get my inspiration from you. Would love to see something adjacent to what you talked about in the end, a budget project (obviously far in the future as this consumes most of your time and rightfully so) with a small putting green that anyone can do. Thanks for the videos and the knowledge and help you have provided me, and its good to see all your hard work pay off.
Well done for a thorough explanation on how this all happened. Also great that you have been able to get sponsors who have been so willing to assist. Well done guys!
This is amazing! Congratulations on building your dream, it looks incredible! I am considering doing something similar, going so far as to build a 150-yard par 3 hole. After watching this, the thing I’m most curious about is: what has to be done for ongoing maintenance and how much does that cost you per year? I won’t keep my green pristine, so hoping I can get by with just cutting the grass on the green weekly (on Friday, before I’d use it most on the weekends). I would hire someone to do all the mowing, so cost and time per visit to cut the grass would be helpful!
After living in Orange, I am amazed at how well you can keep that colour. Absolutely love the channel Ben. Obviously this cost so far does not include the mowers, spray equipment and spreaders, thank goodness for Hutcheon and Pierce.
Unreal mate. I've been watching since the small town block, getting everyone keen on having a mint lawn to dominate the block. I know i have been giving the lawn a good go since getting inspiration from watching the vids. To buying a hobby farm and turning it into a golf course. Keep it up, thanks to the sponsors for making it happen
Its been amazing following the whole process and I've loved watching so far. You are a natural at teaching mate. I would suggest you maybe think down the line to help keep paying for on-going maintenance, an association with the local TAFE and get apprentices to work with you under your tutelage on future and existing projects and you get fees through them plus some handy helpers that could then also feature in your vids for your channel..... otherwise I'm looking forward to seeing the fairways and bunkers coming in!!
Started watching your channel about 2 years ago as I had 280m2 of couch in WA and I wanted to learn everything I could. A science for sure and lawn looks great. So I’ve enjoyed the front lawn (98m2)Reno vids and watched every step of this build. It’s been brilliant. Thanks for doing this it was a pleasure to watch. Hoping to build my own putting green this summer but humming and hawing about the mower as I reckon it’s one of the most important parts of lawn. Watched a few of previous vids but any recommendations would be great.
Nice Kid, Cool channel-instant sub. Crazy to think what a whole course would cost. I’m still fascinated by a local CC that sold a few years ago for around 3.5mil. Gorgeous clubhouse and all. Lottery dreams, right…Can’t wait to see you drop your 1st birdie.🍻⛳️
Top guy. Love the back story, a testament to making the ambitions of youth a reality. Can’t wait to see the fairways develop and the blend of different grasses. Best of luck to you.
Absolutely amazing effort. We're all glad you've received the support you have cos I've definitely enjoyed watching it all come together immensely. Just don't forget to pay yourself a "salary"!
You definitely deserve that dream coming to fruition mate, you seem like a top bloke & have given us all so much knowledge! Can’t wait to see all your other plans turn into reality 🙌🏼
So good bro and what a lifestyle change its been for your whole family your kids get to grow up out in the country they will learn more then just living in a city once they are abit older they can be out there mowing the lawn and help move cattle when you get some in its a life change for them and they will learn a heap of the old boy👍👍
Looking forward to the budget green series brah!! Thanks for sharing the journey to date. I’ve learnt so much and had a great autumn changing my property to rye!! 🤙🏼
Excellent project. Hoping you can give some very simple advice regarding the actual soil that you plant the seed into: 1. What is a good sand to Topsoil ratio to get a nice mixture for an authentic feeling green? I will be planting Creeping Bentgrass. 2. What is the proper sand to use in that mixture? Course? Fine? Play sand? Mason Sand?
On "sponsorship", you have to remember, that you're not just 'given' that stuff... your hard work over the past number of years has been the real cost to earn that sponsorship. That's something people don't realise. I've been trying to build a TH-cam channel for a decade, and unfortunately, I haven't done a good enough job to build anything like this that deserves those levels of rewards, but I love it, and that's enough, but I am all too aware of just how much effort it takes to do this kind of thing, and I think it's admirable.
Hey man wouldnt mind a bit more of a deep dive on the drainage, perhaps some kind of a demonstration of it draining and how you might apply the same or similar system on a home backyard lawn? Every wet season I think how good it would be to have a mint drainage system in order to help combat the wet weather etc. Cheers dude been a pleasure following this series
Hey mate! Did you see my video on it? I might not have answered all of your questions there but I did cover a bit th-cam.com/video/6C4bedtow2I/w-d-xo.html Cheers as well mate, really appreciate it!
Huge effort and cost. Well done. I don't know what under the table deals you have going with those bigger sponsors!! They're probably owed a few feature videos each!
It's been awesome to watch, given me a lot of ideas on how to do the drainage on my own lot. I'm not surprised it's that expensive when you factor in equipment and everything plus drilling a well. You should still try to get some KBG growing there and reel mow it (maybe a section of your fairway perhaps :D?). Anyway, good luck on finishing the fairways m8.
Now that the green and surrounds are completed (short of the fairway and tee box projects) would be curious what maintenance costs look like over time. Topdressing, fert, etc. Great videos love following along!
...all that is left to do is open up a school on-site, one month intensive training and come out with a nationally recognised cert in sports turf management. Probably not on your radar, BUT sign me up if it happens, I'll take a month off for sure!
A bit off topic for this vid, however I have used some weed killer on some wintergrass in my Buffalo lawn. Do I need to pull it all out once it is dead, or will it break down natrally. Love the green series and all the great info 👍
I'm extremely happy for you mate and I look forward to all the years to come. You've worked hard to make this dream come true. Since we just had the first day of summer I guess you've had your first day of winter? It looks fairly warm there. I do r recall if your guys really get any snow at this new place so far so good
I put in 7 greens, 13 tee boxes, and all the equipment to maintain my course for less than $15,000. Please take a look. Thanks! youtube.com/@BrogansRidgeGolf-cj7bk?si=1NGG0V42cgBhJn7B
I’m doing a 100sqm home bent green with rye surrounds & 2 bunkers. Realistic cost with paying someone with an excavator to shape the green & bunkers, no irrigation or drainage & 100mm 80/20 mix, bunker sand, ferts, seed etc I’m at around $3000
Ben, I was only thinking last week on how much this would have costed you, so thank you for the clip but I'm curious, how many hours of effort have you sunk into the project as it's actually a cost. Love the channel!
Congrats. Roughly how much is for the monthly upkeep for the lawn, specifically putting on your treatments to keep the grass healthy, green, and disease free?
Question on picking the right sand. In my town where not able to access top soil. We do have a concrete mob that has a very fine sand (seed free). Would this be ok to use just for Reno time, mainly for levelling after coring? Love ya work grass god..
I have found the barrier for entry is the mower needed to cut a green. Gone are the days of the days of the $500 greens mower. A decent used one is going cost you at least $1500 to $2000.
Can you break down the cost in the description or a pinned comment? Material, labor, hardware, ongoing costs, etc. Also, what is the size of this green? It looks huge!
Something you haven’t really a addressed man… What are you plans for the dam? Are you putting a fountain in? Edges surrounded by plants? Any small trees? Dying the water blue? And fish? Sand surrounding the waters edge? Grass running to the waters edge? And rocks or pebbles? Solar Feature colored lights? Orr, just leaving it how it is?
Hey man, why not think about showing off a chipping green later on. Cheap as possible, show it off. Would be a challenge for you too to build a quality green for as cheap as possible.
Follow up questions to the cost of the build is what is the cost of the products you used from seed down until now. Fertilisers Weed, Pest and Disease Control
Credit to the sponsors and the Mrs allowing this project 👏😂
Haha yep
You should a sponsor logo display on the stone wall behind the green!
😂😂 definitely the missus frowns even when you need to mow twice in a week
Just a phenomenal feat - congrats! Like others saying that huge credit to the sponsors AND the Mrs too. To add to this, your effort on this & commitment to showing us, has been incredible - from the actual build, to all these recording, editing, updates, etc. Thank you for sharing!
I would love to see how to do this on a budget in a backyard sized area. That would be awesome.
Planning to do that in future for sure!!
Exactly, if you don't have the money do it on a budget this is why the world economy is not prosperous. AGAIN dumb people
Cool! @@LawnTips

Has been so great to see you go from the fescue residential yard to building a full on par 3 course on your new property. So inspiring mate.
Ben, I’ve absolutely loved this series. I’m glad you and the missus secured this property, I can’t wait to see what’s next to come
Have been watching you for some years Ben, so glad you're able to do this! Well deserved mate.
Well done for a thorough explanation on how this all happened.
Also great that you have been able to get sponsors who have been so willing to assist. Well done guys!
Looks a treat. Have been watching the progress as we go past each day. Looking forward to what comes next.
Super impressive dude. Love the comprehensive overview videos like this along with the detailed daily maintenance stuff.
On ya Ben! 👏🏼 been a long time follower since the start and I’m so happy for you. You’re a true inspiration mate
This is amazing! Congratulations on building your dream, it looks incredible!

Your a lucky man Ben. Hat's off to all your sponsors and friends involved in the build.
✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham.
The result is fabulous. You did it first class.
Legends all around ! Really nice round up of the price! And fair play to disclose the sponsorship. Really shows your integrity! Top man Ben
Congrats Ben! Phenomenal effort. Been watching from the start and been a real joy to watch the progress from start to now. We’ll done mate.

I just cant believe ppl live in such a beautiful nature sceneries like yours backyard.
I am so keen for the future of this channel ❤
Hats of to you mate, wouldn't have gotten a single sponsor if it wasn't for your hard work and persistence leading up to this 👍
Nice Kid, Cool channel-instant sub. Crazy to think what a whole course would cost. I’m still fascinated by a local CC that sold a few years ago for around 3.5mil. Gorgeous clubhouse and all. Lottery dreams, right…Can’t wait to see you drop your 1st birdie.🍻⛳️

I don't even own a lawn mower but love this channel.
We’ll done. Huge accomplishment. Happy for you❤
What a fantastic project and achievement, hats off to the sponsors.
So good bro and what a lifestyle change its been for your whole family your kids get to grow up out in the country they will learn more then just living in a city once they are abit older they can be out there mowing the lawn and help move cattle when you get some in its a life change for them and they will learn a heap of the old boy👍👍
Love that you’re also going to do a budget build to show the contrast between the two ends.
Looking forward to the budget green series brah!!

It's been very enjoyable Ben. Congratulations on the build.
Huge effort and cost. Well done. I don't know what under the table deals you have going with those bigger sponsors!! They're probably owed a few feature videos each!
Really interesting, Love to know the value of the fert so far too.
You should hold a sponsors golf day there and show them all on your channel
Good stuff mate. I will be seeking your advice when i build one in the tropics in darwin.
Congratulations...love watching this series 👌
Very cool! Congrats from Chicago.
Exciting to support ya on this. I dream of hitting a golf shot into this green one day. Keep up the great work
Great work Ben. Looking forward to the next series.
It's been awesome to watch, given me a lot of ideas on how to do the drainage on my own lot. I'm not surprised it's that expensive when you factor in equipment and everything plus drilling a well. Great job Ben, keep the videos coming!
Can you talk about the costs for the equipment to upkeep the green. For example, the reel mowers, the sprayers, the monthly fertilizer/fungicides etc.
Well done mate. Alot of hard work but so worth it 👌🏽👌🏽
El Nino is coming to Australia so droughts are a certainty I suspect so having that bore water was critical. Loved seeing the progress so far!
Now that the green and surrounds are completed (short of the fairway and tee box projects) would be curious what maintenance costs look like over time. Topdressing, fert, etc. Great videos love following along!
Can’t wait to see the budget green build!
Great job mate you should be proud of it.
Awesome effort mate
Nice job but you should tell us about what type of mower you need to maintain the bent grass height
Impressive stuff!
...all that is left to do is open up a school on-site, one month intensive training and come out with a nationally recognised cert in sports turf management. Probably not on your radar, BUT sign me up if it happens, I'll take a month off for sure!
It's been a good watch mate. Lookin pure
CEO of going above and beyond for us!

the $2000 golf green challenge.... sounds like a video series to me!
I put in 7 greens, 13 tee boxes, and all the equipment to maintain my course for less than $15,000. Please take a look. Thanks!

Beautiful!
well done i was thinking more expensive looking great with your end of year care plans do you do them for camberra grass at all
Great job 🎉👏👏👏👏👏
I’m doing a 100sqm home bent green with rye surrounds & 2 bunkers.
Realistic cost with paying someone with an excavator to shape the green & bunkers, no irrigation or drainage & 100mm 80/20 mix, bunker sand, ferts, seed etc I’m at around $3000
Wow. Very interesting.

Congrats. Roughly how much is for the monthly upkeep for the lawn, specifically putting on your treatments to keep the grass healthy, green, and disease free?
Look into variable depth greens
Bro that jacket is 🔥🔥🔥
Question on picking the right sand. In my town where not able to access top soil. We do have a concrete mob that has a very fine sand (seed free). Would this be ok to use just for Reno time, mainly for levelling after coring? Love ya work grass god..
I have 2 questions; 1) what is USGA sand like, incase I wanna order same 2) do you apply pre-emergent on your golf greens?
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing everything with us. We are doing a video series on our channel and your channel gives us hope!
Nice! I'll check it out!
How do you keep the surface smooth? Do you roll it?
Something you haven’t really a addressed man…

Any small trees? Dying the water blue? And fish? Sand surrounding the waters edge? Grass running to the waters edge? And rocks or pebbles? Solar Feature colored lights? Orr, just leaving it how it is?
Hey. Can yo please mention what the tackifier was you used for seeding? And if you thought it worked? I think it was a Canadian that recommended it.
Ben - be keen to see the budget alternative - l have one for chipping, sown with tiftuf @ 15mm - would be keen to switch it to bentgrass
Awesome vid. Have you taken into account your time and what that would have Cost? Just out of curiosity
Respect dude
Brilliant work , so whens the Lawn tips championship?
Got some plans in the works 😉
How do you prevent the bentgrass from creeping into the rye surround? Assuming it will migrate into that thick of rye.
I would just like to take credit for the cheeky Pepsi Max bottle I supplied at 3:30, definitely a crucial part of this build.
what bentgrass variety did you go with?
I would love you to reconsider your trap placement, between the fairway and the green, give it a high face.
That’s not where it’s going anymore actually. That’s an old plan. Trying to decide where to put it at the moment
Building your own green isn’t costly. Maintaining it is.
Would be awesome to see a sponsors tournament in the future
Don't forget about the mowers and other equipment needed to maintain the green.
Hey man, why not think about showing off a chipping green later on. Cheap as possible, show it off. Would be a challenge for you too to build a quality green for as cheap as possible.
What about the mowers? It’s been such a fantastic project to watch
Suggestion once you at done with the golf project...build a football pitch!!!!
Ridiculous numbers but it looks absolutely beautiful.
I love the green, but I miss the Kik. Need some variety.
Follow up questions to the cost of the build is what is the cost of the products you used from seed down until now. Fertilisers Weed, Pest and Disease Control
I need one
Do you think you will ever use a triple ride on to cut the green like a John Deere 2500?
How much for all the feed/fertiliser/weed killer that has been used ?
