Eh, I use both. There’s things I don’t like in Premiere but things I like in Resolve and vice versa. I usually edit in Premiere and finish in Reaolve.
The $20 a month for Premiere is a tax write off, it allows me to use a portfolio site, use Adobe PDF to create and sign contracts, etc. And knowing how to use it has landed me jobs at a lot of agencies to provide a roof over my head.
For individual uses and for someone’s own projects, Resolve makes sense for sure. I did a Verizon commercial at an agency using it since they switched from Avid. But for a career as strictly an editor (my day job) the first thing I get asked is if I know Avid or Premiere. Resolve is a “nice to know” but not too many people in the commerical/trailer/tv industry use it
Nope. A few gimmicks won't erase the bitter taste of Ppro's inevitable crashes. Plus Resolve Music Remix AI is great and the grading is second to none.
That music remix literally blew my mind 🤯
Prem pro hasn't crashed in years
@@AM-wi6gw 🤣🤣🤣
Great video man! Learned a lot. Proud of my DaVinci license
Gimmick features added in both apps that will only get used once in a while. Stability, smoothness and polish are what will stand the test of time and as of now, Premiere has a lot of catching up to do if it wants to be in Resolves neighborhood.
Thank you for everything you do. I would like to ask you. I downloaded the paid version of Davenci the past, but this week I had to format my laptop, but when I downloaded again it was in the unpaid version. So do I have to pay again to get the studio version
also can you make a video about how you colored showering clips becouse it only had a low lighting and you controled every thing with colors perfectly
( if you have time 😅 )
Sounds like you accidentally downloaded the free version (I’ve done that before). Head to the support site and download the studio version then just type your activation key.
If you look at a couple videos back “the ultimate cinematic duo” is a whole video on how I got those shower scenes 😬
Better? No. Plus, why would I switch to a subscription based model that costs me every year what I spend only once to get a permanent license for Resolve. Plus, if you want to do visual effects, that's another chunk of money for After Effects added on to the annual subscription costs. DaVinci Resolve for the win!!
Do you know any way around Resolve compound clip bug where it creates audio artifacts? Only thing I can figure is bounce to new track or decompose before export.
Wow thanks dude, i just know premiere have that extend music feature, i used to edit the music manually for a years. And didn't know that davinci make a premiere look like a loss. Good content 🔥
I always felt like premiere’s white balance felt like I was adding a Blue or Yellow solid and changed its blending mode and opacity. I switched in 2018, and not sure I could ever go back…
My understanding is color slice uses subtractive saturation, unlike most of the other base color tools in Resolve, and the advantage to using it is it mimics how saturation works in film, and can give one richer colors without drifting towards comic book like saturation. I would recommend doing a side by side grade using color slice and comparing it's results to the way one is used to grading before dismissing it.
In regards to colorslice, you could actually easily change what it qualified. Thats what the Center slider is for. The good, or the bad depending on how you see it, is that it has a limit though the good thing about it is that when you change the center of 1 color, other colors would automatically adjust. The thing about the colorslice is that it mimics how a film behaves in regards to color, so if you want to mimic a film, you use it together with film look creator.
i want to give premiere pro a chance because i can edit vertical video since i like to create vertical content. honestly if davinci gave us a vertical video editor i wouldnt even think about premiere pro
They have a one click vertical timeline button on timeline settings also have a vertical view for the cut page. I make plenty of vertical content in resolve.
The only thing I've ever lust after in Premiere is its ability to not pretzel yourself about audio track length.
That’s what is preventing me from doing a full switch and also cutting there seems way faster even though I use micro-key on both.
Resolve feels like it's multiple apps in one because it actually is. It was a color correction tool. Fusion and Fairlight were standalone softwares they acquired and integrated into Resolve. That's why there are some different shortcuts for some things in the color page and fusion.
In any case, whatever Adobe does, it won't matter. As long as they're subscription only I'll never even consider their software. Even if they went back to their old business model it's way too expensive compared to Resolve and FCP with their $300 lifetime license.
no
it's so funny seeing the new ai tools in premiere are all gimmicks where the ai tools in resolve are genuine tools for professional workflows.
I’m generally in agreement. The premiere tools are cool but I’ve always felt resolve does a great job at implementing truly pro features
Hahah 90% of video editing is not for professional use, professional sales don’t make companies money its a small market
@@mmc5261 yeah that's why most kids nowadays edit on their phone on capcut but resolve doesn't need cater towards those people and alienized their main prouser base and by definition, if you are making living editing videos, that makes you a professional and by that definition, there are more pro ediors in the current days that there has been ever in the history.
When I meant the gimmicky AI tools in premiere, I was talking about the bad looking generative fill or the openai sora plugin for premiere pro etc, compared to Resolves' AI tools like voice isolation, AI based tracker, remixer, etc that solves problems a 'pro editor' would need on a daily basis.
About to watch the video but I thought I’d comment before hand and say NEVER IN MILLION YEARS.
No, just no
😂
there is a remix tool, whre you can drag the music to the right length
Never heading back to Adobe just cuz of repeated crashes. Not good for client work. No matter how many new features.
adobe is a software only company so the hardware benefits of Davinci (speed editor, color wheel panel etc) will always be better & more efficient
DaVinci vs PP+AE
Who would have thought the beta version would be glitchy? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Crazy right! I thought betas were supposed to be more stable 🙃
2:40 the snappiness from the new version of pp comes from them hiring an old pp developer who optimized pp by updating the timeline play head while scrubbing instead of refreshing the whole ui lmao.
man the ui of premiere is so bad, it's not ergonomic or modern, it feels like they put buttons and sliders randomly in places.
Hell no!...........I'm already in Davinci and I ain't going back! Adobe abused it with their prices! They did it to themselves by being greedy!😂
Your video at 2160p looks like amateur’s youtuber video at 480p. How do you call yourself a filmmaker if you can’t see this.
No
A tool is a tool. No worse or better. I just can't stand the bloat Adobe creates.
NOOO...BIG NOOO
I own my copy of Davinci resolve studio for my iPad and my PC.enough said👌🏾 No monthly nonsense
IS THIS GUY DRUNK?
Artlist is worse than premiere pro
1. they're based in Israel.
2. their music is mid
First 🎉
Ayeee 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Nope, next dumb question
Ill save u time ..... Just ditch all adobe products they suck ass so bad davinci is the future and faster than stupid premire i switched and never looked back so happy to have all functions in 1 program not having to use 5 diffrent programs to do 1 thing its stupid not to mention davinci is free and u gatta pay subscription to adobe for aome crap ass software u will never own haha
Adobe Photoshop alternative please
I can’t even watch your video because of the title. I don’t know if it’s a Clickbait title or if you’re even considering the possibility. Is your Ford focus better than my Tesla. If you think premiere Pro is better than resolve then you are absolutely clueless in every possible way!
Do you ever comment on any creators video something nice? Lol
@@initialfocus Some people won't comment if they can't comment negatively. :)
Adobe and all it’s softwares over shadow DaVinci, a better comparison would be a country vs a empire
