Not sure if you check these comments anymore. How is it that your shifts before installation (blue knob) is so easy and smooth. What do you have installed already if I may ask
I love Import Image Racing! I didn't expect to see that sticker in this video. I've gotten all of my after market parts from them, the owner is cool as fuck!
Does he have the pitch stop’s brace? What about anything like white line positive shift bushing kit? My wrx came with the STI short throw shifter from factory. The boomba seems really low, is there a short throw shifter that is maybe a little less low? This is my next buy/install!
the boomba short throw doesnt work with the stock shifter though, theres too much threads and you'll either pop the top of the stock shift knob off or it'll be too loose and spin around everytime you shift a gear. i had to make a spacer to get the stock shift knob to work (i really like the stock shift knob)
@@bane9964 you need to go weighted when you do short throw. Itll be way too notchy to shift. Got a perrin adjustable weighted knob and love it. Let's me raise it a bit higher so hitting the ebrake isn't an issue and helps to shift into gear
...but to maximize any benefit of the sts, you need to mitigate/reduce the rev hang. Yes? What good is a sts if the engine is still revving down 2 seconds after you are in the next gear? I'm constantly finding that with this car, one modification warrants a 2nd or 3rd supporting mod. And I thought the GTI needed mods to be a better car; but it seems to me at least, the WRX is in need of more. It's like a modification snowball to "fix" issues Subaru left open on the showroom floor.
Can the short shifter be installed in 1.6lts Tdci engine 2013 ford focus model? Plz some one advise bcoz I am hearing that only RS and ST models can have this mod.
Very nice! By the way, do you know of a way to identify if you have a factory short throw? I got my 2019 used so no build sheet. It has the STI shift knob but I’m not sure it actually has the shifter installed.
If u have a premium/limited it comes wit the short shifter with the Sti shift knob. If u can get from 1-4 with a flick of the wrist u have it, but an aftermarket will be shorter by like 10%
Yes. I too have a Group-N mount awaiting install when the garage floor gets 30* warmer. IIRC, the warranty fix requires cracking open the transmission and replacing the shift fork. That's why I'm going the new mount route; not the insert, but the full mount.
Guys, I like y'all's content and watch all of the vids but...libby's attitude detracts from the higher value y'all are putting together. Humility is much more likeable characteristic. Don't mean to be an a-hole or rude or anything. Ijs.
4:09 this man really said we on a hill. I hope you know if you step on the break the car won’t slide down, so you could have tested the ebrake down 😂
super worth it. short shifters are always one of my first mods. love that shift knob!
Should I get the one when I order one or try to install one Later
Im running the same weighted raceseng shif knob with a spt short throw. Adding a shift stop and shift bushing really took the slop out, esp in first.

Nothing installed just the driver lol
when it wouldnt go into first ‘my brain’ “thats your first gear syncros going out buddy” 😭😭😭😭
The perrin shift stop is sick
I just got a billetworkz short shifter kit and its awsome
Nice comparison video! 👌
👀 is that Kevin himself??
Good content. I'm currently thinking bout this 1 for my WRX.

Nice vid man, I run a kartboy short throw shifter in my forester!
I had to dremel out my knob a bit to make the revese lockout work on mine, just a heads up for people

Got a b&m short shifter on my c5 with custom gated shifter
Why didn’t it wanna go into gear ? If I may ask I have that issue with my sti short shifter
its alright, my 3rd gear does it too

A Cobb tune is one way to reduce rev hang. In our experience, protunes can reduce it even further
Isn’t that the fun part

That's a great question! I think the only way is to check side by side with a stock WRX.

I think that might be only for 2019 plus!
@@WRXGarage u right, it is
the stock short=throw or the stock regular?
Both of these are the stock non-short throw
Did you have a shifter bushing ?
The blue shifter yes
Just bought a 2019 wrx base, anyone have issues with 4th gear vibration during acceleration
Yup, there's a recall for it i think but I put in the subaru group n trans mount and it went away completely. (Didnt have a recall when i installed
@@jaybosher6144 I'll probably go the warranty route with this one, my old wrx I would've upgraded for sure
@@jasondemis544 id still recommend the trans mount regardless. Makes the car n shifting feel a little tighter with almost no added noise.
@@jaybosher6144 I'll give it a look, thanks!

Will you be thinking of getting a short throw??
Definitely! Kyle really likes the feel. Kevin actually prefers the longer throw.
