As my interest in cars has tapered over the years I’ve watched fewer Doug videos but I did watch the whole Carrera GT video. I will admit I got teary eyed watching it. So cool to see you buy a car you proclaimed many times previously you could never afford.

I've been following you since the Jalopnik days, and I can say that the CGT video was the first and only time I've ever actually gotten excited for a creator achieving their dream car. I remember the CTS-V wagon videos, the Ferrari 360 videos, all that stuff. Knowing what that car meant to you gave it so much significance.
Thanks Doug, there are still some of us who prefer TH-cam and longer format videos to TikTok or TH-cam shorts. Hopefully you will still be enjoying your channel, producing more excellent content for your audience and fans.
Your honesty and transparency is what kept us coming back. I can't stress this enough that I trust your reviews over many, many other car review channels or outlets. You deserve all the success your channel has brought you, have a happy 2024!
I really love the new Prius, saw one on the road for the first time and I was blown away, it genuinely looked cool, stood out from other traffic like a sore thumb. I’m excited to see how people mod these as well, great job by Toyota

I’m seriously considering getting the 2023 Prius prime XSE. What a design on that car, looks like a vehicle from 2050. The bump to 220 hp helps as well.
Saw one today for the first time. Not a fan of the front bumper/headlights but they otherwise look pretty cool for a Prius lol
I wouldn't say they're a great looking car but they have definitely come a long way from the original Prius they started out with I would no longer be ashamed to be seen in one but you know what you get on a Prius's battery goes dead a slow Corolla

It actually make a lot of sense given the problems JLR have been having with Keyless Entry.
Those PIN based immobilizers were pretty common in PSA cars of that era. Had one in a Peugeot 306 back in 1996.

I miss you doing videos outside. Seems like a lot are being done in the garage there. Please start doing them outside more..
He should build a replica set in that bunker there. A backdrop would cut down the echo.
To be honest, I prefer when you're reviewing the car outside near (some) nature. It creates a sense of openness and having some nature in the background can really change the aesthetics of a car.
Your Carrera-GT for example looks really different, and not in a good way, in a barren, cold garage than when you would review it outside.
And yes, the weather conditions aren't always optimal but there's something about reviewing a car in an enclosed space that doesn't do the car justice, imo. It also looks kind of sketchy, despite your cargo shorts and white socks, lol.

My favorite Doug videos for this year are:
1. C6 Z06 and Ferrari 360 Modena - desirable dream cars now at attainable prices
2. Corvette E-Ray and 296 GTB - two supercars taking performance to the next level in a modern/more interesting way (hybridization, that is)
3. 1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo - low-priced fun car that still looks attractive to this day
4. W210 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG - a car that pretty much encapsulates my automotive preferences (high performance, practical and seemingly understated looks-wise)
5. Doug’s Porsche Carrera GT and Lamborghini Countach - two videos that inspire me to keep going and reach my automotive dreams.

I remember you getting the S Cargo, crushing the pt cruiser with the hummer and driving it through the city. Teaching your friend to drive a stick in your viper. As a drayage trucker I pulled loads from every major container port and rail yard in and around LA. But whenever I had a load from Union Pacific LATC I always had to go an extra hour early because there was at least a 50% chance it would have been broken into and I'd have to file a report 😊
about 2-3 days before your carrera gt video dropped, my country and my hometown saw its most horrible days with 2 incredibly big earthquakes. thankfully i wasn’t there but all i thought about was my hometown and my apartment was destroyed. then i saw your carrera gt video and i dropped everything i was doing to watch that video, i don’t know why but i was smiling like a child. maybe you didn’t inspire me with your work, but you sure did delete my pain for about 2 hours. i always thought you were one of the top channels on this website to create content ever, and seeing that video made me feel like i bought that carrera gt instead of you. happy new year’s doug, now i am waiting your italdesign columbus review. keep being humble and the quirkiest guy i ever knew.

This filming location will only work for the dougies, the echo oddly fits but other than this, ghat echo will get old
I have a model 3 and i absolutely love mine i have done the suspension and made it tighter and lowering it to get rid of any wheel gap and obviously swapped the wheels out for a larger wheel and tinted the all the windows and i feel like its like driving a big gocart

The code to start the citroën xantia was actually a common feature on citroëns from this era. My friend's mom had a ZX and I found it so cool that you had to type your secret code in order to start the car. Kinda made it feel like a spy car.
