You made this youtube car scene so familiar and easy to reach for everyone that is really difficult to hate your content. Doug I love your straightforwardness and honesty. Like when you say you put up your best videos in December because that way they make the most money. This just makes you a lot more trustworthy person - there is nothing wrong with following the market and making money - but a lot of people would still try to disguise it as motivated by something else. The thing with most automotive youtubers is that they try too hard to appeal to hardcore car enthusiasts; almost in a way that would gatekeep the general public.
Doug has managed to appeal both the car geeks and the general public with his down to earth, honest personality and the simple yet comprehensive review format. You can relate to him on many levels most of the time which makes me love him

Doug is one of those guys I will always want to do well. He is honest, smart and overall a good guy. TH-camrs tend to be really crappy humans, but you are amazing. Wishing you the best, just like when I started watching your videos, 8 years ago.

I don't personally know a single you tuber in real life, so am limited to "judging" them based on their you tube persona, and still, I can't think of any who come across as uniquely "crappy humans", but maybe I'm just watching the wrong videos to make that assessment.
While I agree with you that Doug seems like a stand-up guy, who brings a great deal of enthusiasm to his channel and genuine appreciation for his viewers, I'm not sure how you conclude a tendency towards crappy human behavior by others. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just curious how you reached that rather scathing conclusion. Please, if you can, edify me. Thanks!

People like that Salman guy is the reason I rare if ever look at the comment section at anything basically. It's just rage, drama, bad vibes etc. It's a waste of life.. after I basically quit Facebook I've had way less negative shit to worry about mainly because the comment sections aren't hidden when scrolling through the feed. Cut the negativity just plain out ignore it and don't let it get to you. It's not easy at first but as you learn it it's just nature and you'll just pull your shoulders and think "Ofc, next".

Not a truck person, or really into electric vehicles, but I really enjoyed the Rivian truck videos. Watching it go up that hill while decked-out Land Cruisers watch on was something really significant to see.

Doug...you are one of maybe a handful of channels I actually have the notifications set on. I like to catch new episodes sooner rather than later. I'm a total car guy who's career is in driving and testing cars, hobbies are in and around and under cars, I practically live in my garage. If I'm not there or at work, I'm at a meet or car show or an auction or the track. I live and breathe cars.
You're channel provides me even more cars, in the form of some much needed entertainment when I've put my feet up at the end of the day. I'm grateful for you and this channel. I frequent Carwow, Throttle House, Straight Pipes, TFL, Redline and of course, Jay Leno's Garage...but your channel is the best imo. Thank you for everything you do. Keep it up. Personally I put a deposit down because I know that Jeff Bezos won’t let this company fail - otherwise he’d have to go and ask Elon Musk to see if Tesla can supply Amazon’s electric vans, which would drive him absolutely nuts as they both hate each other. Jeff Bezos wants his “own” electric car company and that’s why Rivian is going to succeed at least from an economic/infrastructure standpoint

I've seen a few of your videos in the past but really only 'discovered' the passion and quirky nature of your reviews. Being sick with covid is something I would never wish on anyone, but finding a gem of channel that everyone seems to know, but me, was, in some small part, a silver lining. Just don't look at my watch history, I may have binged and can now profess a kind of "Doug connoisseur" thanks to my own passion for all cars. I don't think any super cars would make it into my list of favorite Doug videos. I'm hoping there are more like me, who find it one way or another, and your channel continues to grow. I think Hummer and other manufacturers should encourage you to off-road their vehicles in the future. Off roading the rivian took that video to another level!

Hands down my favourite TH-cam channel. Having been watching all of Doug’s videos with my breakfast when they come out. It not just the in depth reviews, but watching someone like Doug evolve and gain the success he deserves has been really satisfying.

I totally dont like Ricciardo. I think he puts on a show nonstop. Kimi Räikkönen is one nobody can hate.
The GR Yaris is basically a Yaris that has been hand-built to be a road racer: insane amounts of extra body stiffening, top shelf components, ridiculous hours of suspension and steering tuning...Toyota gave their best people the time and budget to get this one right. I drove one in Sydney for a weekend: if Porsche wanted to create a 2 seat ultra-hot sub-compact, this would be what they come up with. It's that good.

I'm not a car guy, I don't own a car and couldn't afford one if I wanted one, I drive an IVECO minibus for work, that's it... But a few years ago I saw a guy who looked and dressed like Quentin Tarantino playing Jimmie in "Pulp Fiction", he was reviewing the "Quirks and features" of a car... It was his knowledge and enthusiasm that led me to go back and watch every single video posted on his channel and then become a regular viewer of his content thereafter... Doug did that, not the cars, not the content, Doug... I'll be watching as long as he's making. :D
A few years ago I did the same, I stumbled on Doug and then had to watch everything he had done before, and now he is the only TH-camr that I do not miss a single video.
@@joaoguerra2376 It actually happened to me twice with car channels... Well, sort of... Like I said it happened with Doug's channel but there is also a British (Like me) channel called Failrace, who race cars on different video games like GTA V and Forza (Hence the "Sort of"), I haven't completed their back catalogue cos there's about 4.5k videos on there and their very early ones are truly awful... Alex Day is the host and in 90% of their videos, the only voice you'll hear... He has a great team of racers with him who never take themselves too seriously, personally I'm a big fan of Gliscor who drives like a beast but Alex is a stunning driver too and he does it all while commentating... They also do "Survive The Hunt" on GTA V, you'd have to watch one to get it but it's what got me hooked, they're just amazing fun and one of the best things I've seen on TH-cam... They do STH once a month but they post a video of something or other once a day... Highly recommend them if it's your kind of thing. :D

Doug, I’ve learned so much about cars from you. You’ve completely changed my perspective about cars. I realize supercars I wanted as a kid were probably uncomfortable, unreliable, and extremely unsafe to drive. Also car makers make insane choices, which you spend half you’re time on and I can’t wait to see each new thing you find. And, you don’t need to modify your car. It was made that way for a reason and you should celebrate it. Ok some cars need a little help, but the nostalgia seeing and you reviewing some of these seemingly untouched cleaned up cars from the past has been amazing to experience with you. Thanks Doug!
