The shell capacity is 8+1, not 9+1.

The 590 series is a real workhorse and will eat any type of 12 guage, 2 /3 , 3 inch shells and the mini rounds. This pump is as fast as a semi shotgun.

Can the Choke be changed out in the barrel?

Only on the 500 Retrograde Field
The 500 Retrograde, 590 Retrograde (both 18.5 and 20”) and 590A1 is bored out to Cylinder.
That being said, there was a first production year run, where some 590 18.5” had screw in chokes.
You can also buy a retrograde shotgun and a separate barrel that accepts chokes. Just remember 500 and 590 barrels are NOT interchangeable.

I paid $629 for mine 8 months ago. 18 1/2” barrel. 6 in the tube. The Retrograde furniture is beautiful.
