    The amazing thing about Glock. The pistol never needed to be "Updgraded" to the level it is now. Simply revamping the grip and adding the pic rail was good enough. The dam thing is a pistol version of an AK.

    • @ms13626
      @ms13626 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@alm9951 He basically said that Glock don't need a new handgun model like other brands do so it still remains basically the same gun with minor upgrades in the looks and internals but they all look the "same" as the original model.
      Like SIG, Walther, Smith&Wesson etc they all have totally different handgun models for example.

      Note, as of 2023: Glock USA might close out all the gen 5 MOS format 17s. They will start to only make 47 MOS 9mm guns. A few other Glock models may be ended or sold only in a MOS or "optic plate" version. I myself like the 47 MOS 9mm.

      I myself highly suggest new Trijicon HDs in orange. I added them to my used Glock 22 gen 4 pistol. Some like HD/XR 3 dot sights but I'm not crazy about the thin front Glock post. I would NOT advise buying Tru Glo TFX pro Glock sights! I put them on my used Glock 41 .45acp gen 4. The front post gets loose, twists a lot! Not a good, stable design.

    It’s worth noting that some Gen 5 17’s have front and rear serrations, while others only have rear. Some also had the factory half moon cutout on the front strap. The cutout was one of the worst ideas Glock ever had. It was sharp, and it could tear up your pinkie while shooting. Newer Gen 5’s did away with that, thankfully.

      I've owned my gen 5 Glock 26 9x19mm for around 3+ years. I added a few upgrades, parts. True Precision TiN 9mm barrel, Tango Down slide stop/Vickers mag release, LWD 🐺 extractor, Glock Store stainless steel guide rod, 16lb; NP3 coated 3.5lb trigger connector. The 26 9mm is a solid, well made ccw pistol. The DLC black surface holds up well; kydex polymer holsters.

    2:28 look at that why the barrel is always bend.. ima glock fan as well no doubt.. but when you pull and lock the slide back of an colt 1911 or berreta and many more pretty much every pistol has the straight barrel and every glock i’ve seen in my life i’ve always noticed when its slide is locked back why is that why the barrel is not looking properly straight when slide is bacwards

    • @GunBoxTherapy
      @GunBoxTherapy  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Glock and a lot of more recently designed striker fired firearms (P365, P320, PPQ…etc) utilize what’s known as a locked-breech/tilting barrel type action as opposed to what the 1911 has.
      The 1911 barrel does tilt, however it tilts downwards in the rear via the tilting link on the bottom of the barrel later in the cycle of operations. It is much less noticeable. The barrel on the 1911 is also locked to the slide via the locking lugs until it reaches a certain distance rearwards and then becomes disconnected via this tilting link I mentioned above.
      The Glock utilizes a similar cycle of operations, however it gets it done with less parts and the slide/barrel become disconnected or unlocked earlier in the cycle. This leads to the more dramatic tilt that you see with Glocks and other similarly operating guns. The mechanism that unlocks the Glock barrel is a slight ramp on the top of the barrel.
      The M9 is similar to the 1911 in that it isn’t as dramatic of a tilt due to using what’s called a “falling locking block”.
      All of them, in principle, are the same. They all utilize a form of or a redesigned version of the Browning action.

    • @GunBoxTherapy
      @GunBoxTherapy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I also want to add that none of them are a flawed system or flawed cycle of operations. They just use a different mechanism or design to achieve the same outcome.
      Trigger pulled.
      Explosion.
      Rearward momentum.
      Bullet exits the barrel (while the slide/barrel are locked to allow pressure to build).
      Slide/barrel continue rearward.
      Slide/barrel unlock.
      Recoil spring applies forward force.
      Slide/barrel move forward.
      Round stripped from the magazine.
      Slide/barrel lock.
      Round chambered.

    You know, I have a feeling that here in a few more years, Glocks are going to be considered "old school". Seems to me like several manufacturers are giving Glock a run for its money. Not hating on Glock, but they had better look at the writing on the wall.

    • @GunBoxTherapy
      @GunBoxTherapy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Ohh I believe they are already turning into that category. They aren’t in the same category as the 1911 and I think it’ll be a while before they are there but you are right, many people are taking their design and making it much much better both in a functional way and aesthetic way.

      It’s a legal requirement for FFLs (federal firearms licensees) to include one when transferring handguns. So 99% of manufacturers just include them in the box.
      They are also required in some instances when flying with a handgun or traveling to different states.

    Would you recommend this for someone who is absolutely new to the gun world? I’ve been looking to get a pistol for home defense, but I don’t want to get something that goes bad after a year or two. Really nice review man

      Eren, I’m sure that most people would just plainly say yes to that question. Especially concerning the reputation for Glocks. However, for a first time owner, I wouldn’t typically recommend a Glock as your first.
      There is an inherent learning curve when I comes to shooting handguns and then again shooting them accurately. Glocks are great all around guns and have a reputation for being really reliable in any circumstance. The problem I have with them for a first time gun owner is the striker fire. I have found not just for myself but also when training newer people that hammer fired guns are just all around more enjoyable to shoot but require less of a learning curve to shoot accurately. (Shooting inaccurately can be the most frustrating thing to a new person). For that reason I would recommend the Sig P226, Beretta M9 or any Beretta 92 series of firearms.
      Both of those have very intuitive and reliable controls and have a proven track record for reliability. I know that they tend to be slightly higher in price compared to Glocks but at the end of the day, you are protecting your life or others? Right?
      Both of them have a double action/single action trigger. Manual safety. And de-cocker that rides the hammer forward safely without you firing. Also, both are full-size metal frame firearms leading to less felt recoil, more for you to grip on to and both of those will lead to better accuracy.
      I hope that’s able to help you in your choice and if you have any other questions, let me know.

      @@GunBoxTherapy hey man, I really appreciate your answer to my question. This is definitely something I will have to sit down and think about before blindly buying the most popular firearm. Thanks for your help, and best wishes for the growth of yourself and your channel ❤️

      @@erenjeager5290 You weren't doing it blindly..you were doing your research. My first firearm was a Glock 17 gen 5 and I have never looked back. A few months later I purchased a 43x and love that as well. There is nothing wrong with buying the most popular firearm, it usually is the most popular for a reason. With that being said I am very new to this world and I would certainly listen to someone with more experience then me like @gunBox Therapy

      @@GunBoxTherapyI slightly disagree with your opinion here. Striker fired pistols reduce the need to worry about decockers and safeties on a MUCH lighter trigger by virtue of their action. The mushy trigger of the Glock, the reliability, the ease of disassembly, the many many variations of essentially the same pistol etc. all help make Glock an amazing 1st time owners pistol. Accuracy takes time no matter what build you go with. Putting it simply, Glock is the Honda civic of the gun world. There’s bigger badder things out there, maybe even prettier, but this thing just works.

    • @madman61756
      @madman61756 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justinsane11 I agree. The lack of controls like a decocker, safety, hammer...I think lacking all that teaches a first time gun owner the fundamentals first. Dont aim this gun at something you arent willing to destroy, dont put your finger on the trigger until youre ready to shoot... the honda civic comment is true. This is a gun with just a trigger, learn how to pick it up, aim it, and hit what your aiming at...THEN learn how to use a safety, a decocker, a weapon light, unholstering, threaded barrel blah blah.

    In US, Glock is cheaper than most mobile phones and as easy as getting a mobile phone. In India it cost as expencive as small apartment. It is approx USD 25 K and still Glock is not selling in India. A company names CMT had some arrangement with Glock to make and sell glocks in India but thanks to corrupt Indian politicians, the project is still to be started
