The Khan Maykr was originally his superior, and the boss fight with her ends with a fatal punch. So he goes from killing his superior with a punch to killing his superior with a punch.
I kinda wanted it to be that the Slayer was a separate person than DOOMGuy but its fine. It's kinda gonna be hard for ID now to think what DOOM 3 will be since they could of made it a remake of DOOM 64.

About the Divinity Machine and the motivation of the Seraphim: . After the Seraphim/Samur Maykr/Samuel Hayden disagreed with Khan Maykr, he stole the Father's consciousness and transfered the essence of the Father to the Doom Slayer, that explains why he is even more powerful that the maykrs. He probably chose the Slayer because he witnessed his power and will against the titan, greater than all of the Sentinels, and realized he was the Destroyer from the prophecy, who would bring the destruction of the Maykrs. He brought him to the Divinity Machine to confirm this, and that's why he transferred to the Slayer the godlike power. . For those that missed the codex entry: they Maykrs used the Divinity Machine to research alternate timelines, and they have seen one being that consistently appears in all of them. He would come to destroy the Maykrs, and he would come from the high ranks of the Night Sentinels. This is how they have come up with this prophecy. They told the Sentinels that there would be a schism that would appear in the blood of one of them that would ruin the Maykrs and the Sentinel's ascension after death. That purification of the Sentinels' blood was the Maykrs' excuse to individually research the Sentinels' possible timelines in the Divinity Machine to find and kill the prophesized Destroyer, which they called "the Dark One". This being is obviously the Slayer, that wasn't tested because he wasn't Sentinel blood and therefore unlikely to be the one from the prophecy.
Is the Seraphim really Samuel Hayden? I mean there was no proof of it or at least I didn't see any... But what got me puzzled was why did the voice on Urdak said to Slayer "Welcome Seraphim" or something along those lines

@@Pedroppl1 i think what they meant is that the robotic body was alien tech. that's fairly inconclusive. it doesn't mean much in the way of him being the seraphim. the body could have been of either makyr tech or sentinel tech yeah, i don't see how else he could know so much about urdak and hell, and well, many other planets or worlds their voices do not sound the same at all wasn't the fortress of sentinel prime makyr tech though? also, what about the fact he's portrayed as a human in DOOM 2016? other than that, good catches dude

And about the human Hayden it could be that they simply did not think about the entire lore when Doom 2016 released and now are retconning it, but I dont see how the human Hayden is a problem, Samur could've easily manipulated him by sharing his divine knowledge in exchange for something or even killed the human Hayden and then steal his identity (making up the story that Hayden transferred his mind into a robotic body, a technology that Earth did not possess since Hayden was the first cyborg) to hide from the other Maykrs. Not to mention the fact that the Maykr race cannot go into the Hell dimension with their own bodies, so Samur would have yet another logical reason aside from hiding to create a robotic body for hymself to bypass that barrier and go to Hell to find and release the Slayer.
For those who have replayed doom 2016 obsessively like me, we understand that Hayden was the "Seraphim". Not only does he say the same thing, in level 2 when you receive your first argent cell, but his voice sounds almost identical minus the more robotic voice of Hayden.
Remember what Samuel Hayden said in level 2 of DOOM 2016: take it it, it will give you strength, help you in your journey, the same words by Samul the Seraphim, my conclusion, Samuel is Samul, Vega is = the Father of Maykers.
My favorite part of doom eternal is when John Doom eternal looks at the icon of sin and says “your doom, is eternal.” And my all time favorite line is John Doom Eternal’s most famous line, “It’s slayin' time,”
Doomguy is a fantastic portrayal of how every soldier who has seen combat feel when they come home. They come from fire and death, to a Starbucks latte and wifi, and they feel like a Doomguy walking around trying to live a normal life. That's why this game is so popular among military members.
Could Samuel Hayden be the human reincarnation of Samur Makyr? It would explain his vast knowledge, his robot body infused with technology "alien" to the UAC, aswell as the role of supporting the slayer, which he now plays, he probably started finding out about his own past alongside the slayers. It would also explain why he wasn't very stoked about having Urdak be destroyed. I like to think that Daisy was Doomguy’s emotional support animal, and after the demons killed the one thing that was holding him together. I would’ve liked for Doomguy to be the betrayer, because it makes his eternal crusade against the demons both a blessing and curse, but it’s still cool that it’s just because of his pet

All three: Doomguy, Doom Marine and Doom Slayer are the same. First of all, from Doom 2016 we can understand that we are playing as Doom Marine also a very smal detail but on the mainscreen, you can see a tiny Doom Marine text. And we know he is Doomguy because in Doom Eternal we saw original helm of Doomguy and a portrait of him with Daisy, his pet bunny from Doom 1, which was slaughtered in the end and led Doomguy to take his revenge to Doom II. Also they are all Doom Slayer because when he finds or before he finds the crucible on Doom 2016, we see crucible in his flashbacks 4 times. We learned from the ancient relics' speech in hell that he wanted to take revenge and he used a sword. We also seen ancient drawings of him on stone relics holding "the sword" And the demonic voice when we return to hell to find crucible tells don't let him reach it. Which also means they know that Doomguy/Doom Marine once used crucible and was feared throughout the hell.
Hey! Video suggestion here. There's a theory going around that Hayden is the Hooded Seraphim that give the Slayer his divine powers during the attack on Nabad. Several times the game hints towards this, like when we first see Hayden, and the scientist said "his cortex is mainly alien" or when VEGA said that Hayden is familiar with the Urdak technology, and much more. Nice vid btw!
If you guys look back at the end of the Kadingir Sanctum mission, you see a projection of Hayden looking at the Slayer's sarcophagus. Hayden paced slowly and put his hand on the sarcophagus very delicately. I always wondered why he behaved like that, it's because Hayden already knew the Slayer, assuming that he is also Samur. Not only that Hayden knows many details that a Maykr would know

Super epic! I like how the lore tied everything together; I'd love to see the thought process at id when they weaved this intricate story! And I appreciate the subtitles naming the characters outright lol A couple of things (spoilers): VEGA = The Father Samur Makyr= Samuel Hayden The Wretch= Samur? We see that Slayer was given sentinel training armor after the blessing. I always assumed it was King Novick who knighted him and gave him his new armor. The Kahn Makyr's unmasked face looks a lot like the Spider Mastermind's.
Happy and joyous to know Doomguy found his newfound and very effective new life to be feared by the demons this time, a reversal of what he went through, transformed now to all his enemies shall feel when he was just a human mortal way back then.
They did a great job explaining Doom Guy past and his journey leading up to Doom 2016. All I can say is bravo. If only Hollywood could follow the same path a make a good Doom movie

I love this story of the Slayer, its so much more inspiring and interesting. All in all he is just a normal man that found himself in the right place in the right time and what is special and unique about him is what he chooses with the power he has, and his choices are of action as we see through out the game where bureaucracy and planing fails, he has the power and will to make things happen. Whats interesting in him is that he never quits even if hes beaten up and wasted, he always rises up and grows stronger. Even as a god he is only able to do all he does in the game because he doesn't quit and absorbs the energy of the fallen... There could be no greater paladin of humanity Regarding to what made him different from those at the divinity machine I think its that he was given the energy of the "Father" himself. The way I see it is that Heaven and Hell are two sides of the same coin, life and death, ironically Hell is the essence of life itself in its chaotic and predatory nature while Heaven is Death, organization knowledge and the end as while hell consumes worlds it creates more demons and life is created while heaven simply consumes energy and so it is the end and absolute destruction: so what does this have to do with the slayer? what he was given is a different gift that of Argent power winch is the essence of life, instead he was given the essence of Death and this is why he is able to absorb the energy of the fallen. And on a side note I believe the Makyrs to be descendant of a Demon king, the ruler of death of some sort winch in hell conquests would gather the knowledge of civilizations and he gathered enough to create his own realm as Urdok wich is not natural but fabricated and can only maintain itself at its quantum dimensional level through the magik and technology it has
I wish I had played the original doom games. I'm very new to gaming, and loving doom, but I feel like I missed out on so much. Now though I feel like it would be hard to get in to older versions now that I've played eternal. Maybe I will. I'd love to understand the story more thoroughly.

Did anyone notice Khan Makyr avoided killing the Slayer the first few times, and only after he killed all the hell priests, did she get pissed off? Also, the Slayer didn't mutilate/gory kill the Makyr after she died. I wonder why? 2. Why did the Night Sentinels let the Slayer pass through if they were protecting the final hell priest. Speaking of, weren't the Night Sentinels extinct? 3. Who was the person who screamed Nooooo! When the Khan Makyr died?
1. she was a hologram 1b. well, she was already dying and wasn't a demon, maybe he didn't feel like it? 2. Because he was their King by sentinel law, only after he broke the sacred laws against shedding their own people's blood could they act against him. 2b. there was a civil war, the "survivors" are those beholden to Deag Grav, and the Maykrs, who are allied with, but not servants of, Hell 3. Hard to say, maybe it was "the Hidden one" or whatever the head demon is called, because he was allied with the Kahn, and thus lost his source of new worlds. or, more likely, it is "Vega" who is actually "the Father" and thus creator of Urdak, watching all he had built be destroyed. oooorrr. it could be the "spirit" of the Khan, realizing she won't be re-born without the Father's essence, or even having her soul claimed by Hell.
I like how Doom 3 can still fit into the timeline, not connected to 1, 2 and 64, but to the universe/dimension of the new games. Also that the "eons" spent in Hell prior to 2016 are attributed to the endless WADs for the classic Doom games, simply amazing.
But what did the doom slayer do between DOOM 2016 and the beginning of doom eternal ? There is a five year gap between those games. I hope DLCs will provide some answers.
I think it's likely that somehow Samuel Hayden and the seraphim are one and the same. Maybe the seraphim was reborn as Samuel Hayden and he realized that the Makyrs were being reborn as humans? Either way his knowledge of Mayker tech and the Doom slayers past make it hard to believe he's not the seraphim even down to him having the same voice in the flashback. It could be a good lore video.
So this man was assigned to the UAC Mars base were he thwarted a demonic invasion, saved Earth afterward, ended up in hell, ended up in Argenta, became a super enhanced slayer, went to hell again, became trapped by the demons, only to be pulled from it to UAC research facility on Mars, by humans, where he staved off hell's forces? I know Doom is not about the story but, doesn't it sound like they made a reboot in 2016 and decided afterward to tie it up to the previous games, with some holes I might add, just because it seemed cooler that way? Not denying that it is but, i don't know, it would have been much more interesting for the slayer's story to stand on its own, different from the others.

7:09 - Is there any explanation as to why Sentinels have two different types of Armor? The More Green Barbaric Marauder armor (which Doomguys new Praetorian armor is based on) as seen by the instructor in the background as well as the 1st Sentinel King, and the White Knight Night Sentinel Armor. I think Midnight mentioned that the Marauder armor was newer after finding hell and the Knight Armor was their older Armor. And yet, the Knight armor looks somewhat newer in some respects with the Blue Lights, while the Green Barbaric Armor seems more ancient (The 1st King and perhaps Novak wore similar armor), and yet it's supposed to be newer / in response to Doom guy and the Demon invasion / Civil War? It doesn't make sense to me. There's such a stark contrast between them.
well hell was fought with ancient means, the technology failed them in their first battles with the dark realm. Its prob because of that and also dont forget the rebels were pure while the currupted were enhanced like the marauders
In the artbook, the green armour designs are for ELITE Night Sentinels. Given their rarity in comparison to the more Templar-knight-style armour design, I'm inclined to think this is the overall case. The white Night Sentinels are standard members of the army, while the green ones are the Elites who have risen in rank through combat prowess and granted more barbaric armour signifying their status.
Honestly, I wish that they had either more cutscenes or longer cutscenes to explain the story in DOOM Eternal. For people who want story, they can watch the cutscenes & those who don't care are gonna skip them anyways regardless of their length, so might as well make them longer so the story makes more sense!
I have a little theory that the Seraphim is actually Samuel Hayden. When we went to collect him we were told his machine body was alien in origin. And that it was Maykr tech. How could he have gotten his hands on this tech? Maybe from Mars. There are ruins there that could have helped him. But how does he know so much about the Maykrs, their people, and their homeland? My best guess is that he is a Maykr himself, who exiled himself after he helped ascend the Slayer. He found Humanity and wanted to protect them. But then He’ll came. So he did what he thought was needed to help them so they didn’t end up like his people.
Did you hear VEGA´s line where it goes: Am I the Father,Dr.Hayden?", when the demons invade the DG base, I think...that got me unprepared and my jaw was floored... all more speculations to the bag now.... hopefully the DLCs answer some of this.
That's what I was thinking. However, Hayden was in human form before his robotic body, so for that to hold up he would have had to transfer his memory to a human since the Seraphim was a maykr.

Furtalance_x my guess is that if he does turn out to be the seraphim, him being a maykr would make sense since he’s obsessed with argent energy, but thought he could harness it without hellifying Earth through use of the fracture unlike the other maykrs. Remember that dr pierce was the one that was corrupted, not Hayden, so if he in theory can’t be corrupted, then by his logic the slayer would be getting in his way. He also didn’t try to kill the slayer, just teleported him far away from his work. It’s definitely an interesting theory that we’ll probably have to wait another four years in the sequel to find out if it’s true or not.
@@RipNteargaming Don't put too much stock into Hayden being human prior, as we barely seen any cybernetics in the doom lore other than mechs and exoinfantry (military personnel using exo-armor), very little on true cybernetization from human to machine with free will.
another earth/timeline. the OG Doom time line is oneand the same as the OG Wolfenstien timeline (where the Nazis lost WW2) with doomguy being BJ's great great... son. as bad as it was Wolfenstien youngblood kinda confirmed the whole multiple timelines thing in its ending. 1) Doom 2016 established that time isn't exactly linear in Hell . 2) Wolf YB established that there are multiple timelines 3) OG Wolf and OG Doom share the same timeline that now we know leads to the Doom 2016 timeline

I think all badass fictional characters are just one big family. From the top of my head: Asura (Asura's Wrath), Kratos (God of War), Guts (Berserk), William J. Blazkovicz/Terror Billy (Wolfenstein), Doom Guy/Slayer (DOOM). I think it makes a lot of sense.
One thing I don't really understand and I'm probably missing something here but how did the doomguy fight the icon of sin In doom 2 before the betrayer had even betrayed the knight sentinels. Surely the icon of sin wouldn't have existed until after the slayer joined the knight sentinels and was then betrayed which leads to the creation of the icon of sin. I'm probably being dumb here so if someone could enlighten me I'd really appreciate it thanks.
The issue I have with this origin, is the Doom marine from the original games fought a demon invasion on earth... but in the new games that never happen, this would mean the Many world interpretation was true. Yet there are other universes like hell, which would mean the Multiverse interpretation was true.... these two are not compatible, they are opposing theories in physics.
they were multiverse...khan maykers has the technology to find new planets in multivarse to help demons to kill there and use argent energy out of soul.. that was the agreement between dark lord and khan maykers

About the Divinity Machine and the motivation of the Seraphim:

After the Seraphim/Samur Maykr/Samuel Hayden disagreed with Khan Maykr, he stole the Father's consciousness and transfered the essence of the Father to the Doom Slayer, that explains why he is even more powerful that the maykrs. He probably chose the Slayer because he witnessed his power and will against the titan, greater than all of the Sentinels, and realized he was
the Destroyer from the prophecy, who would bring the destruction of the Maykrs. He brought him to the Divinity Machine to confirm this, and that's why he transferred to the Slayer the godlike power.

For those that missed the codex entry: they Maykrs used the Divinity Machine to research alternate timelines, and they have seen one being that consistently appears in all of them. He would come to destroy the Maykrs, and he would come from the high ranks of the Night Sentinels. This is how they have come up with this prophecy. They told the Sentinels that there would be a schism that would appear in the blood of one of them that would ruin the Maykrs and the Sentinel's ascension after death. That purification of the Sentinels' blood was the Maykrs' excuse to individually research the Sentinels' possible timelines in the Divinity Machine to find and kill the prophesized Destroyer, which they called "the Dark One". This being is obviously the Slayer, that wasn't tested because he wasn't Sentinel blood and therefore unlikely to be the one from the prophecy.
Is the Seraphim really Samuel Hayden? I mean there was no proof of it or at least I didn't see any... But what got me puzzled was why did the voice on Urdak said to Slayer "Welcome Seraphim" or something along those lines
@@ivanplachy4441 It's not explicit, but there are plenty of references and hints that he is is the seraphim that gave godlike powers to the Slayer, and also the seraphim who disappeared with the Father's consciousness (which turns out to be Vega) from Urdak:
- The humans trying to extract his mind at ARC said it was alien tech
- His amount of knowledge about the Maykrs
- He wasn't surprised seeing Urdak and knew everything about it even if no human, sentinel or demon has ever been there
- Their voice sound the same
- The name Samuel Hayden/Maykr Samur
- He could perfectly operate the Doom Fortress (which was Maykr technology)
- He knew everything about the argent energy production in Hell
- Refers to the humans as "your people" to the Slayer
- The same words he used when giving the Slayer his powers are the words he use when giving the Slayer the argent energy cells in Doom 2016

And about the human Hayden it could be that they simply did not think about the entire lore when Doom 2016 released and now are retconning it, but I dont see how the human Hayden is a problem, Samur could've easily manipulated him by sharing his divine knowledge in exchange for something or even killed the human Hayden and then steal his identity (making up the story that Hayden transferred his mind into a robotic body, a technology that Earth did not possess since Hayden was the first cyborg) to hide from the other Maykrs. Not to mention the fact that the Maykr race cannot go into the Hell dimension with their own bodies, so Samur would have yet another logical reason aside from hiding to create a robotic body for hymself to bypass that barrier and go to Hell to find and release the Slayer.

For those who have replayed doom 2016 obsessively like me, we understand that Hayden was the "Seraphim". Not only does he say the same thing, in level 2 when you receive your first argent cell, but his voice sounds almost identical minus the more robotic voice of Hayden.

Doomguy is a fantastic portrayal of how every soldier who has seen combat feel when they come home. They come from fire and death, to a Starbucks latte and wifi, and they feel like a Doomguy walking around trying to live a normal life. That's why this game is so popular among military members.

All three: Doomguy, Doom Marine and Doom Slayer are the same. First of all, from Doom 2016 we can understand that we are playing as Doom Marine also a very smal detail but on the mainscreen, you can see a tiny Doom Marine text. And we know he is Doomguy because in Doom Eternal we saw original helm of Doomguy and a portrait of him with Daisy, his pet bunny from Doom 1, which was slaughtered in the end and led Doomguy to take his revenge to Doom II. Also they are all Doom Slayer because when he finds or before he finds the crucible on Doom 2016, we see crucible in his flashbacks 4 times. We learned from the ancient relics' speech in hell that he wanted to take revenge and he used a sword. We also seen ancient drawings of him on stone relics holding "the sword"
And the demonic voice when we return to hell to find crucible tells don't let him reach it. Which also means they know that Doomguy/Doom Marine once used crucible and was feared throughout the hell.

There's a theory going around that Hayden is the Hooded Seraphim that give the Slayer his divine powers during the attack on Nabad. Several times the game hints towards this, like when we first see Hayden, and the scientist said "his cortex is mainly alien" or when VEGA said that Hayden is familiar with the Urdak technology, and much more.

If you guys look back at the end of the Kadingir Sanctum mission, you see a projection of Hayden looking at the Slayer's sarcophagus. Hayden paced slowly and put his hand on the sarcophagus very delicately. I always wondered why he behaved like that, it's because Hayden already knew the Slayer, assuming that he is also Samur. Not only that Hayden knows many details that a Maykr would know

The Wretch= Samur? We see that Slayer was given sentinel training armor after the blessing. I always assumed it was King Novick who knighted him and gave him his new armor.
The Kahn Makyr's unmasked face looks a lot like the Spider Mastermind's.
Happy and joyous to know Doomguy found his newfound and very effective new life to be feared by the demons this time, a reversal of what he went through, transformed now to all his enemies shall feel when he was just a human mortal way back then.
This is so far fetched, complex, and goofy.

They did a great job explaining Doom Guy past and his journey leading up to Doom 2016. All I can say is bravo. If only Hollywood could follow the same path a make a good Doom movie

I love this story of the Slayer, its so much more inspiring and interesting. All in all he is just a normal man that found himself in the right place in the right time and what is special and unique about him is what he chooses with the power he has, and his choices are of action as we see through out the game where bureaucracy and planing fails, he has the power and will to make things happen.
Whats interesting in him is that he never quits even if hes beaten up and wasted, he always rises up and grows stronger. Even as a god he is only able to do all he does in the game because he doesn't quit and absorbs the energy of the fallen...

Regarding to what made him different from those at the divinity machine I think its that he was given the energy of the "Father" himself. The way I see it is that Heaven and Hell are two sides of the same coin, life and death, ironically Hell is the essence of life itself in its chaotic and predatory nature while Heaven is Death, organization knowledge and the end as while hell consumes worlds it creates more demons and life is created while heaven simply consumes energy and so it is the end and absolute destruction: so what does this have to do with the slayer? what he was given is a different gift that of Argent power winch is the essence of life, instead he was given the essence of Death and this is why he is able to absorb the energy of the fallen. And on a side note I believe the Makyrs to be descendant of a Demon king, the ruler of death of some sort winch in hell conquests would gather the knowledge of civilizations and he gathered enough to create his own realm as Urdok wich is not natural but fabricated and can only maintain itself at its quantum dimensional level through the magik and technology it has

I wish I had played the original doom games. I'm very new to gaming, and loving doom, but I feel like I missed out on so much. Now though I feel like it would be hard to get in to older versions now that I've played eternal. Maybe I will. I'd love to understand the story more thoroughly.
It was said in the urdak codex that Samur stole the essence of the father and that is problaby what he gave to the doom slayer.
Considering the BFG prototype BJ finds in New Collisus, I think it's safe to say there's no need to say any alternate continuities are happening beyond the Fergus/Wayat choice.

I have a few questions:
1. Did anyone notice Khan Makyr avoided killing the Slayer the first few times, and only after he killed all the hell priests, did she get pissed off? Also, the Slayer didn't mutilate/gory kill the Makyr after she died. I wonder why?
2. Why did the Night Sentinels let the Slayer pass through if they were protecting the final hell priest. Speaking of, weren't the Night Sentinels extinct?
3. Who was the person who screamed Nooooo! When the Khan Makyr died?
1. she was a hologram
1b. well, she was already dying and wasn't a demon, maybe he didn't feel like it?
2. Because he was their King by sentinel law, only after he broke the sacred laws against shedding their own people's blood could they act against him.
2b. there was a civil war, the "survivors" are those beholden to Deag Grav, and the Maykrs, who are allied with, but not servants of, Hell
3. Hard to say, maybe it was "the Hidden one" or whatever the head demon is called, because he was allied with the Kahn, and thus lost his source of new worlds. or, more likely, it is "Vega" who is actually "the Father" and thus creator of Urdak, watching all he had built be destroyed.

I like how Doom 3 can still fit into the timeline, not connected to 1, 2 and 64, but to the universe/dimension of the new games. Also that the "eons" spent in Hell prior to 2016 are attributed to the endless WADs for the classic Doom games, simply amazing.
But what did the doom slayer do between DOOM 2016 and the beginning of doom eternal ? There is a five year gap between those games. I hope DLCs will provide some answers.

I love the fact they're the same person, it really subverts expectations and the theory was super frickin cool.
I think it's likely that somehow Samuel Hayden and the seraphim are one and the same. Maybe the seraphim was reborn as Samuel Hayden and he realized that the Makyrs were being reborn as humans? Either way his knowledge of Mayker tech and the Doom slayers past make it hard to believe he's not the seraphim even down to him having the same voice in the flashback. It could be a good lore video.
So this man was assigned to the UAC Mars base were he thwarted a demonic invasion, saved Earth afterward, ended up in hell, ended up in Argenta, became a super enhanced slayer, went to hell again, became trapped by the demons, only to be pulled from it to UAC research facility on Mars, by humans, where he staved off hell's forces? I know Doom is not about the story but, doesn't it sound like they made a reboot in 2016 and decided afterward to tie it up to the previous games, with some holes I might add, just because it seemed cooler that way? Not denying that it is but, i don't know, it would have been much more interesting for the slayer's story to stand on its own, different from the others.

7:09 - Is there any explanation as to why Sentinels have two different types of Armor?
The More Green Barbaric Marauder armor (which Doomguys new Praetorian armor is based on) as seen by the instructor in the background as well as the 1st Sentinel King, and the White Knight Night Sentinel Armor.
I think Midnight mentioned that the Marauder armor was newer after finding hell and the Knight Armor was their older Armor. And yet, the Knight armor looks somewhat newer in some respects with the Blue Lights, while the Green Barbaric Armor seems more ancient (The 1st King and perhaps Novak wore similar armor), and yet it's supposed to be newer / in response to Doom guy and the Demon invasion / Civil War?
It doesn't make sense to me. There's such a stark contrast between them.
well hell was fought with ancient means, the technology failed them in their first battles with the dark realm. Its prob because of that and also dont forget the rebels were pure while the currupted were enhanced like the marauders
In the artbook, the green armour designs are for ELITE Night Sentinels. Given their rarity in comparison to the more Templar-knight-style armour design, I'm inclined to think this is the overall case. The white Night Sentinels are standard members of the army, while the green ones are the Elites who have risen in rank through combat prowess and granted more barbaric armour signifying their status.

Honestly, I wish that they had either more cutscenes or longer cutscenes to explain the story in DOOM Eternal. I have a little theory that the Seraphim is actually Samuel Hayden.
When we went to collect him we were told his machine body was alien in origin. And that it was Maykr tech.
How could he have gotten his hands on this tech? Maybe from Mars. There are ruins there that could have helped him. But how does he know so much about the Maykrs, their people, and their homeland? My best guess is that he is a Maykr himself, who exiled himself after he helped ascend the Slayer. He found Humanity and wanted to protect them.
But then He’ll came. So he did what he thought was needed to help them so they didn’t end up like his people.
Did you hear VEGA´s line where it goes: Am I the Father,Dr.Hayden?", when the demons invade the DG base, I think...that got me unprepared and my jaw was floored... all more speculations to the bag now.... hopefully the DLCs answer some of this.
That's what I was thinking. However, Hayden was in human form before his robotic body, so for that to hold up he would have had to transfer his memory to a human since the Seraphim was a maykr.

Furtalance_x my guess is that if he does turn out to be the seraphim, him being a maykr would make sense since he’s obsessed with argent energy, but thought he could harness it without hellifying Earth through use of the fracture unlike the other maykrs. Remember that dr pierce was the one that was corrupted, not Hayden, so if he in theory can’t be corrupted, then by his logic the slayer would be getting in his way. He also didn’t try to kill the slayer, just teleported him far away from his work. It’s definitely an interesting theory that we’ll probably have to wait another four years in the sequel to find out if it’s true or not.
@@RipNteargaming Don't put too much stock into Hayden being human prior, as we barely seen any cybernetics in the doom lore other than mechs and exoinfantry (military personnel using exo-armor), very little on true cybernetization from human to machine with free will.

another earth/timeline. the OG Doom time line is oneand the same as the OG Wolfenstien timeline (where the Nazis lost WW2) with doomguy being BJ's great great... son. as bad as it was Wolfenstien youngblood kinda confirmed the whole multiple timelines thing in its ending. 1) Doom 2016 established that time isn't exactly linear in Hell . 2) Wolf YB established that there are multiple timelines 3) OG Wolf and OG Doom share the same timeline that now we know leads to the Doom 2016 timeline

The thing that doesn't make sense to me is the year placements in the timeline. After the events of the original game does OG Doomguy step out of time? Does he step into the future or the past? When he is awoken on Mars in Doom 2016 how long has it been since the events of the OG Doom games?

I think all badass fictional characters are just one big family. From the top of my head: Asura (Asura's Wrath), Kratos (God of War), Guts (Berserk), William J. Blazkovicz/Terror Billy (Wolfenstein), Doom Guy/Slayer (DOOM). I think it makes a lot of sense.

One thing I don't really understand and I'm probably missing something here but how did the doomguy fight the icon of sin In doom 2 before the betrayer had even betrayed the knight sentinels. Surely the icon of sin wouldn't have existed until after the slayer joined the knight sentinels and was then betrayed which leads to the creation of the icon of sin. I'm probably being dumb here so if someone could enlighten me I'd really appreciate it thanks.

The issue I have with this origin, is the Doom marine from the original games fought a demon invasion on earth... but in the new games that never happen, this would mean the Many world interpretation was true. Yet there are other universes like hell, which would mean the Multiverse interpretation was true.... these two are not compatible, they are opposing theories in physics.
they were multiverse...khan maykers has the technology to find new planets in multivarse to help demons to kill there and use argent energy out of soul.. that was the agreement between dark lord and khan maykers
