With the recent rumors of a DOOM prequel being shown at the Xbox Showcase, do you think there will still be a sequel to DOOM Eternal? Let me know what you think!
The mysterious voice , the 4 or 5 Seraphims that always were present in the dlc and were referred as the Ancient Gods they may be connected to the voice , Samur and the Hell Crucible , i don't think we even know the origin of the crucible and for sure Samur will become that dark priest .
it would be cool if doom 'the dark ages' shows simply the story of the night sentinels and how doom guy is the last of them. like all the night sentinels had a 'medieval' look and it fits with the name
How in the world will they top Doom Eternal! One thing is for sure Doom the Dark Ages will have destruction because Hugo Martin did say in the next Doom will make you feel like a Tank
@@matthewkingsmill7372Well the Doom Slayer did end up introducing guns to the Knight Sentinels, and I believe the Super Shotgun the Slayer has in Doom Eternal is one created by the Sentinels for the Slayer. I think it's fair to say there will be some guns with more Melee options than we had in Eternal.
Maybe I'm being heretical, but the still unexplored Ancient Gods and the entombment of Doomguy indicate the possibility of a spinoff with another main character.
I mean, the Doom universe is already "deep" before lore because as i said: It's a blank canvas. As long as there's different redesigns or interpretations of ideas, that's already "expanding it". If anything, creating connections limits it. You can always make another Doom and even give it its own version of the lore, just as long as the gameplay is interesting enough to justify it and you give it cool designs or something. If Doom always had a universe since day 1, it'd be a lot different than what we got now. Earth in Eternal clearly isn't the classic Earth. You can already tell the UAC has a different logo and army (ARC, when at best we got "UAAF" from the questionable Doom Bible). Like really, id should hire actual classic Doom modders and fans who've played with the classic setting for years and some trivia stuff. An idea i did have was "what if the UAC tries to steal/copy Sentinel tech and attempt to make their own Slayer" which also goes with that sword in fire symbol you'd find in one of 2016's levels and SnapMap. Since "sword in fire" is the meaning of the Slayer symbol and somehow the UAC had one that was more literal of it.
For all the people whining about a potential multiverse reveal in DOOM because you believe it is "lazy" writing. A multiverse in DOOM has been CONFIRMED since the release of Doom Eternal. The Art of DOOM: Eternal which is a book containing the concept art, development, and lore of DOOM released 4 days after Doom Eternal's launch and it confirms a multiverse. Yes, the book is canon, and in Chapter 5: Demon Vs. Slayer it states "VEGA observes what may very well be the result of a *multiverse* imploding inward upon itself, where countless battles are fought between the Doom Slayer and demonkind." And Hugo Martin has made it very clear in the DOOMverse that there is a multiverse within the cosmology or as he likes to call it a "Metaverse". And not to mention, there is good proof and args that Wolfenstein, DOOM, Quake, Commander Keen all exist in the same verse, which lends credit to the multiverse existing.
also doom lore isn't supposed to be dune or lord of the rigns like, it's supposed to go hard. Also in wolfenstein youngblood there was confirmation that there's a multiverse in the iD shared game universe. Also the new quake expansions in the remastered (also by mahcine games) suggested that there was something similar going on.
Also also, the Lore isn't Doom's main focus anyway, the point is to literally be too angry to die and to rip and tear until it is done. It's gameplay focused.
Plus we still need the triple crossover between doom,Wolfe stein and quake, plus if they wanted to develop the slayer as a character as it seems they’re doing they could ask the people from machine games to help write him
@@jasonsmith530 to be fair, most From stuff is good. Plus, From soft games still have a distinct style. there's a reason people hated the Demon Souls remake.
I dont want it to be a cycle. The Doom Slayer's actions should be meaningful with finality, not wasteful and contributing to an endless cycle of misery. This is Doom, not Dark Souls. He will fight forever, but I want him to at least make progress in weakening evil and containing it so that it can no longer pose a threat to humanity, like how it seemed to be in the end of Doom 64.
But is Hugo Martin involved. He said the story of the Doom Guy was finished and i thought he was working on Quake. So if he's not involved thats worrying
Ahhh another multiverse narrative?. So will the Slayer be able to travel back to the horror events on Mars in Doom 3 to reclaim the artifact and the soul cube? lol..
If Prequels are the way to go. Here are my pitches A Game where you play as an ARC soldier during the Earth Invasion A Game where you play as a UAC Guard during the Mars incident sent by Hayden to awaken the Slayer. A Game where you play as Davoth during the early years of Hell. A Game where you play as Valen after the Fall of Argent D’Nur.
Davoth was running from the elder gods (Quake) The engines of creation hide Davoths universe from the Elders who are after him. The wraiths in the world spear are from the elders universe where davoth came from. The Wraiths were there to find davoth but got cut off because of the engines of creation keeping them from communicating with the elders.
I want a Hell civil war where half the demons are allied with the Slayer since he would take the place of the Dark Lord and half are serving who ever fills next bad guy slot... Probably Samuel and some Lovecraft stuff.
I think there should be a game in-between, ETERNAL feels like Part 3, only explaining things that happened before by finding stuff that provide you with small informations, which I believe to be a poor choice. Also, there should be a sequel of "Doom: Abomination" in the making (that awfull movie), what happend to that?
I thought doom 2016 was a reboot of doom 1 and Doom Eternal was a reboot Of doom 2 and by the way, the Wolfenstein game and the doom game are not related at all Two different games and they’re not in the same universe one is about World War II is about demons from hell because I don’t believe in a Multiverse in these games And one more thing, the doom guy is the same in all doom games except for doom 3 And his name is Corporal Flynn Taggart
When a kahn mayker dies, they turn into wraiths??? Possibly in the new doom game??? And when a kahn mayker reaches there full potential they will also turn into wraiths????
There’ll still be guns, the Codex entries state Doomguy has the Super Shotgun with him at Argent Dnur and the Sentinels have the Ballista in their arsenal. Maybe the Quake nailgun will appear to fit with the medieval aesthetic.
I don't know... they took my beloved franchise and turned it into a bit of a mess. Yea, it's fun to play... but they 100% nailed what Doom was in 2016. Remember how nuts we all went when he "threw the monitor out of the way"? Or heard the "Any employees interested in the Revenent program, speak to Jessica..." recording? 2016 was subtle, in contrast to Doom Eternal. DE was so over the top, battle mechs, and all this lore... it's like they had this perfect IP, knowing full well they need to milk it for cash, so what can we do? Let's throw the kitchen sink at it. I'll still buy whatever sequel they give... but I sure do hope it steers back on course. It worked in 1993-94, it'll work today. You don't need to over explain things. Just let me kill demons en masse.
I have 300 hours in doom eternal, and i dont know what the hell the story is about, all i know is that the icon of sin gets stronger the longer it stays on earth
The gameplays still doom, and the game doesn’t take it self seriously, only people who hate or dislike doom eternal because of how not serious it is are people who take video games to seriously. Doom is not a serious franchise. Yes 2016 was gritty, but it had video gamey tropes and style to it still like the originals. Doom was never about its story or taking itself to serious or story, it’s always been about its gameplay. You’re not forced to read lore or pay attention to the story, you can even skip cutscenes on repeat playthroughs.
Agree with you. Eternal is like the perfect example for me how a game can be better in gameplay and still leave me more unsatisfied because it lacks the soul of the predecessor.
With the recent rumors of a DOOM prequel being shown at the Xbox Showcase, do you think there will still be a sequel to DOOM Eternal? Let me know what you think!
