Easily the greatest repair video I’ve ever watched. Very thorough, but not excessive. Describes proper maintenance specifications to ensure safety and correct repairs. Speaks clearly and avoids jargon that would be hard for inexperienced people (like me) to understand.
Hands down this is one of the best car repair videos I’ve seen. Absolutely a great job!

I used this video to help me replace the oil pressure sensor on a Jeep Wrangler. I’m an experienced diy mechanic and this video is very well done. The step by step narration is clear and the gloved hand gestures are a nice touch. This sensor would be impossible to find if not for a good guide like this. Well done!

I do need to get off my rear and do that video. I have everything in place to make it happen except for the time. I will certainly try some time soon to do this repair. Look for it to be multiple parts and also I plan on doing a "by the book" version and then the "shortcut" version so people can choose which they prefer. Thank again for asking.
Thank you very much for the video. Replaced the sensor due to a P0520 code and did the spark plugs and ignition coil boots while I was at it.
The shorter engine oil socket is the way to go. Very tight space when using the long one.
The bracket that mounts the throttle body to the block was by far the worst part!
Your an excellent mechanic. I just watched a video where the guy replaced his oil pressure sensor on a ram 3.6 by removing wipers and plastic flang and bracing brackets and did not take the manifold off
Excellent video, great instructions to detail. Tried the backyard idea spent 6 hours laying in top of engine trying to remove sensor from behind and under valve cover, a big waste of time. Wouldn't work put everything back together will do it your way Thanks

I have been meticulously watching this and part two for the past week. This is my very first time removing major components from my engine, so it's definitely scary. My good friend who is very knowledgeable with cars found this video for me. He told me that I was fully capable of doing this. I've gone out to different tool stores and auto stores for all the parts, and I'm finally ready. Will post my success story, haha. Thanks for all of the instructions. Excellent video! The only thing that I did differently was to use a 27mm box end wrench to remove and replace the sensor. Thanks for your great video!

100% POSSIBLE TO REPLACE THIS SENSOR WITHOUT REMOVING THE INTAKE! GO THROUGH THE BACK!! REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPERS & COWL !!!
Hey you do know this video is about removing and replacing the entire oil filter/oil cooling unit which you can get in the original stock plastic with the sensors included ? That pentastar engine is in all Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep and I have pullen them from Audis . I worked as an engine disassemble rat Pull-A- Part (25 engines a day). The flaw and why these fail is the Plastic unit is sitting on the hot engine block and in time either the gasket for the oil or water will fail contaminating the fluids and when someone pulls their stick the first thing they think of is blown head gasket and if the engine oil gets too much water in it the steam will carry oil pass the rings and it will settle on top of the pistons and start altering the performance of the rings scarring the liners and if left to sit for two days will have corrosion in the cylinders. So you can upgrade it to the Aluminum replacement. Stay away from Autozone, Advanced and O’Rieley’s they say $317 , but I found it in various level of assembly and fully assembled with everything einstallend chiller, filter housing, oil filter, oil pressure sensor, oil temperature sensor upper and lower intake manifold gaskets all lower seal gaskets and all new E8 BOLTS. Do not try to use a 1/4 in socket on these security bolts they will strip.
I got the entire assembly with all gaskets for $70 on Amazon. Now being All aluminum I can upgrade to the Elderbrock supercharger for the 3.6L pentastar they make one for each pentastar and Hemi Engine. Sadly these cost $7,000 but you can get one. And rebuild it yourself if you know how to tighten. Before I caught Covid I pulled 3 they all blow a piece out the bottom which ricochet and gets drawn between the rotor which locks the pulley and burns the belt and choke the engine out because the burnt belt smoke and oil spray if the shrapnel punctures the oil cooler beneath it.

This takes roughly 2 hours on a 2014 Grand Cherokee. I found it easier to loosen the intake brackets on the drivers side rather than the one on the passenger side. I also left the injector connectors and fuel lines attached to the lower intake and kept it out of the way with zipties attached to the wiper arm during sensor replacement. Manifold bolts are 8mm, manifold nuts are 10mm, bracket nuts and bolts are 13mm, and the sensor is 27mm.

Replaced my Oil psi sensor and Gaskets on 2012 chrysler 300 video is very detailed... followed every instructions and torque specifications. It will cost me $300+ to get it fixed on the shop. So i just bought my own tools spend about $150 for everything plus the parts. And follow step by step from these video takes me about 2+ hours. when i have visual of the old oil psi sensor, its just like i found a chest of gold under the ocean I've been looking for. After i replaced the sensor i did the gaskets and just so excited when i put everything back. But After my instalation and everything the engine light is still on.. drive them for 2 days hopless .. I made an appointment for the repair shop and today im about to bring it to the repair Shop.. then came to my mind to double check the things i put back and tightened all the hoses and TADa!! Engine light is gone.. i think my pcv hose is a lil loss when i put everything back. Or some other eles ... but anyways i feel so relieved. I just spent half of the spending for the repairs plus i got a tools of my own now.. thank you so much.. Video is soo helpful.. its just like cooking while reading a cook book. Well deatiled.. Great videos man but one thing I can suggest is get under hood light so we can see better
I replaced the oil pressure sensor with one from Amazon and got a different code. I replaced it with a Standard USA sensor the same code came back. I used a Mopar sensor that I got from the dodge dealer and all the codes went away. I suggest using a factory dealership sensor only.

A friend was working on my vehicle I just had open heart surgery so I cant work on things yet. In short when he was bolting the upper intake manifold onto the lower manifold he broke a bolt. It is difficult getting a bolt ordered. Is there and alternative bolt that can be used to bolt upper down to the lower. Thanks in advance.
I just got a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo 3.6l as well. The engine light came on one day after purchasing from a ford dealership(no warranty), and I got the code P06DD, Says its duel stage oil pump & oil pressure sensor. The oil dipstick looks clean and is in the safe area. On my dashboard it still shows me a number on my oil pressure. So not sure exactly what piece is throwing it off. Filter possibly?
FYI a 3.6 L Pentastar engine stock is 292 HP. Its block can handle 400+ HP there are upgrades available. And it is a Flex fuel engine.

Im sure they never intended for it to fail.....the oil temp sensor right next to it never goes bad. If its in an easy to get to place like on top the engine....for some reason it never goes bad.....crazy how that works lol. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Make sure to subscribe.

I had the same error code P0520 0r P0522, i replace the oil pressure that came with the two sensor and the code is still there. I tried to reset it still nothing. i went back to autozome for the check engine light. same popped up. need help.
Hey brother, looking for P113E and P113D code fix for my 15 300S 3.6 AWD. Just happened right after my Supercharger install w/new PCM and im thinking that it and the original O2 sensors arent communicating effectively.?

Good idea to replace both knock sensors while it's opened.
Took me an hour to change but.... sensor wasn't flushed to the engine.. so far no leaks no check engine light and oil pressure seems normal.. any advice?
I have this random rubber hose that has a plug that I can’t find anywhere in this video, it looks like it’s plugged into the transmission and the plug says BMC 4 anyone know where it goes ? It’s next to my oil cap???

There is a short cut. Remove the cowl and under plate and pull it from behind with a socket
Great video. Your video helped me to change the oil pressure sensor on our Caravan but the friggen code comes on every month or so. The boys at the dealer said they usually put an oil pump in when they run into that situation but it's one of those crazy things that you never know it's fixed. We have our own auto shop and I don't mind putting in a oil pump if it's going to solve the issue.

I have had to replace one oil pump as well after trying different things to get rid of that common code. Its not the easiest thing to have to replace but sometimes its needed. Thanks for watching Paul. Appreciate the feedback as well.
Thanks David. Man you'd think if it was an oil pump it would trigger that code more frequent than every two months. Once I clear it it's out for another month or two. Oil pump in the oil pan? Remove exhaust and pull the pan down? Thanks for you help buddy👍
Its a crazy yet cool design. Its variable. I have that one oil pump in my shop torn down and was at some point going do a brief video about the way it functions. You have to remove both portions of the oil pan....the stamped steel and the aluminum piece along with the hard to remove exhaust section. Its chanin driven but the front cover doesnt need to be removed. There is an electrical connector that goes out the right side of the block that can be fun as well.
Lol. Sounds like fun. If it becomes more frequent I'll have to dig into it. I'll let you know the outcome. If you can a video would be cool to.
Thats one of those videos that takes alot of time and the issue is waiting for one to come in for that. I will certainly put it on my list of videos to make.

I recently replaced the oil pressure sensor due to a P0520 code on a 2012 jeep wrangler that fixed the issue for about a week, but now i get a P06dd code, but no p0520. What would you suggest next? Oil pump assembly or could i have made a mistake during reassembly? Thanks again!
The sensor is cut and dry when replacing so I dont think you caused any damage. The code P06DD will most likely be the oil pump for sure. Its a common item that causes that code each time I check. I plan on making a video on that repair in the future....got the engine to do it on sitting on a stand....just havent gotten to filming it yet. Thanks for watching and for the question.

Ive had my 2013 300 throw that code for about a week now. Would it cause huge major trouble if i wait another week to change that sensor? I do need to drive during that week to go to work and all
I feel it will be okay. Its a common issue and electrical, not mechanical. Just make sure you dont hear any engine noise while your waiting to replace the sensor. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe
Is the back bracket supposed to come all the way off? I just changed my spark plugs yesterday and I couldn't remove the plastic part of the screw I was worried I'd break it but I'm going to do it again to change the oil pressure censor

You have two options....leave it on and if the issue is fixed.....eventually it will go off by itself. It might take a few days or a week unless that didnt fix the issue. The other option is to have the codes cleared......your local auto parts stored can take care of that for you. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe
I’ve got a P0522 error code on a ‘12 Wrangler. Plan on making this swap but I have found nothing on the web about 0522,only 0520. Thoughts?
Possible causes are wiring, sensor, or PCM. Make sure no issues with the oil filter and no missing bypass valve. If okay then I would move to replacing the oil pressure sensor. Thanks for asking and for watching, Make sure to subscribe and Merry Christmas Steve.
I replace the oil pressure sensor on my Dodge Charger RT yesterday and today I feel a slight vibration could the oil pressure sensor cause that or is it just a coincidence it has a vibration in low RPMs I did replace the drive shaft coupler last year so it's not.
The oil pressure sensor wouldnt have any affect on that issue. There is something else happening not related to it. It would take some checking and there is no one thing I can point you towards. Thanks for the question and for watching the video. Make sure to subscribe
MotorCity Mechanic sorry to bother you again bro ham but would unplugging the battery mess up the MDS system because it only vibrates when the four cylinders is on when I'm in autostick it's fine or maybe the motor mounts went it started vibrate out of nowhere one day it was fine did a new battery took off the belt and senser and now this
Would this be the same for a 2013 Chrysler 200 sport, it has a 3.6

One thing I had to do differently was I did not have the specialty socket for the sensor, so I removed the temp sensor above it, and this gave me enough room to use a 1 1/16 wrench to get the pressure sensor out, and the new one back in. slow going, but it worked!

Your videos are great. Thank you. I have a 2012 Chrysler 300 3.6L. At 75,000 miles Chrysler dealerships diagnosed P066D as Oil Sending Unit and replaced for $400. Now at 82,000 getting the same fault. At time of service I was informed that if code reappears Oil Pump will have to be replaced. No adverse performance to the vehicle that I can tell. What would you recommend?
Yeah it looks like the oil pump assembly will be needed. The times that I have gotten that code the pump was what fixed it. I plan to do that repair soon and film it on the 3.6 that I recently purchased just for filming. But I feel thats the path you need to go down next. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Thank you for the Video. I have questions, I changed pressure oil sensor today. the problem I have is after I start the engine sound very lowed. pleaser advise what could be the problem.
What was the reasoning for replacing the sensor....did you have a code?

Very educational and much appreciated. But can you tell me, in regards to that horrible oil filter housing cooling unit, were exactly do they fail? I've seen much on the internet that its poorly designed, frequently replaced, etc. But no-one says where these things fail.
I've replaced of already last month and now a month later the vehicle is leaking from the same pace AGAIN. I'll be returning the part to the dealer under warranty.
Some say its the o-ring seals on the bottom, I feel some of it is where the halves join. Its hard to say exactly because you can only narrow it down so far due to where it is and what can and cant be seen while bolted in place. Thanks for asking Ian and make sure to subscribe.

Will you tell me please if the torque specs you give for the dodge charger (cooling unit, upper & lower intakes) the same as for a '14 dodge grand caravan sxt 30th anniversary edition with a v6 3.6l vvt engine? I'd really appreciate it. I hate hunting down specific torque specs from non- specialists. Thank you.

Morning, on that vehicle your most likely going to need an oil pump assembly replaced. Each time I have seen that code....the pump was what fixed it. That will require dropping the aluminum oil pump to get to it. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.

Thank you very much friend, I will take it into account and as soon as possible to change the oil pump since the check engine sometimes turns on and sometimes it turns off and when it reaches 3000 revolutions it stops in the truck But I imagine it is so same Thank you very much.
What about for the 2012 Chrysler 300 v8 hemi is it the same location as the 3.6 ?
On that engine is next to the alternator on the front of the engine. Removing the alternator is recommended inorder to get to it. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.

@@shaddpastored2056 thanks so much I think I have tracked mine down to oil temp sensor have one ordered as soon as replaced I will tell u how it went I noticed would read > 104 dead cold then after temp reached 158 it would read could reset light and stay off the whole time until cooled back down

What should the psi oil pressure be for a 2013 dodge Charger v6 be ??
On that engine the oil pressure is all over the place and not a set number. It has variable valve timing and a pump that can change output/pressure so its always changing depending on the driving your doing and the mode its in. What issues are you having and any codes?
P06d code is what I have changed the oil pump. Pump seliniod the oil cooler oil pressure sensor moose oil filter and castrol 5w30 oil so I’m at a lose

Yeah above the oil filter in that "hole" by the alternator. Its fun to get to for sure. you almost have to do it blind.
MotorCity Mechanic omg dude. For real. My buddy is a Dodge tech and told me to remove the alternator and I’m not. I don’t want to do that lol. But since it’s right near the oil filter I might try to go from underneath without removing the alternator but we’ll see.
Yeah alternator unbolting does give you alot more room. If you know how to disconnect the connector for the sensor....you can get it out with some work without taking anything off. Its an effort but its possible
kool freaking video... i just changed mine out but the check engine light is still on. i tryed erasing the code with my scanner but it doesn't even come off
It could be the scanner your using or another issue. Remember to clear the codes with the engine not running. What was the exact code you have?

The is no specific ohm reading given in the test. A wiring issue could be possible. It would require ohming the wires from the PCM to the sensor connector to be sure.

FREE ADVICE I WORKED AS AN ENGINE DISASSEMBLER AT PULL-A-PART A QUOTA OF 25 ENGINES A DAY 6 DAYS A WEEK.
You do not have to disconnect the coil packs or move the wiring harness or cut those zip ties!!! SIMPLY DISCONNECT YOUR FUEL INJECTORS UNBOLT THE MANIFOLD AMOVE IT OUT OF THE WAY LEAVE THE BOLTS IN THEN UNBOLT THE LOWER MANIFOLD. 👍🏾. You do not need to disconnect the fuel line it swivels . So take up the lower intake manifold THEN SWING IT TOWARDS THE DRIVER’S SIDE FENDER OUT OF THE WAY.
😂IF YOU ARE TOO SCARED TO WORK ON ENGINES THEN PAY A MAN AND HOVER AND LEARN.

On the 300c (5.7 hemi) its located on the front of the engine next to the alternator. its kind of hidden, unbolting the alternator makes it easier to get to. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.

@@dexterwilliams4130 It should be the same design....it does have a secondary lock however that need to be slid to the side. The connector may be green in color and the secondary lock being white depending on the year.

Personally I can remove that intake faster then the wiper cowl. I’ve even done a video removing the upper intake blind folder to show its not hard. Plus it’s the perfect time to replace your plugs and coil boots if you around the 100k mark
Dont take off the intake. 😂 just replace the sensor
No need to do all of this. Take wiper arms off. Then remove large black plastic cover (cowel) that covers the wiper arm system. You will see a large cross support bar that the large plastic cowel sat on. Remove that bar.
Then look down behind the intake. You will see a round aluminum cylinder. Remove it and the bracket it's attached to. Disconnect the wiring connector from the sensor.
Use a 27mm socket to remove the old sensor, and put in the new one. Plug wiring connector back in to new sensor.
Reinstall bracket, cylinder, cross bar, cowel, wiper arms and you're done. About 2 hours tops.
This is a video for mechanics in a shop. They go off OEM labor computer systems telling them to do it this way. It is completely unnecessary and only makes the mechanic more money.
I showed my girlfriend, who has zero experience with cars, how to do this and she had no problem.
Not a hard thing to do. The only "hard" part is reaching down and getting the sensor out and in, but once you've threaded it in, the rest is smooth sailing.
No disrespect to the guy installing this, but not sure if he's aware of this.
I always try to save people time and money when it comes to cars. Gas cars are a waste of money. Buy an electric car. There's no engine or transmission. Less than 20 moving parts on an electric car. A gas car has over 2000+ moving parts.
Great for manufacturers and dealers, but terrible for owners and people trying to get by. Electric cars eliminate all of this. Veteran mechanic here. Changed my career because I saw the transition to electric coming.
If your kids wants to be a mechanic, tell them there's no future in it, because that's true.
Electric cars have no:
Engine
Transmission
Hydraulic brakes
Exhaust system
Fuel pump
Gas tank
Power steering rack
Brake fluid
Radiator
Alternator
Evap canisters
Transmission cooler
Water pump
Nothing.
An electric motor, a battery pack, one cooler for the electric motor and a heat pump for heat in the winter. That's it.
If you want a vehicle that won't leave you stranded, just get an electric. Chargers are everywhere and thousands more being installed as we speak.
Goodbye gas cars, goodbye air pollution. Even transport trucks are going electric, which is great because they're the worst polluters. No more diesel exhaust fluid either. Just ridiculous. Electric cars were on the road in the beginning of the century, but the oil and gas companies crushed that so they could have you by the b@lls.
No more. Go electric. No noise or pollution. And for those who say it's more toxic to have batteries, you need to understand that batteries are 100% recyclable, so there will come a point when no more mining is necessary as the entire fleet of vehicles b globally will have a supply of batteries from new batteries made from old. And oil and gas is being replaced by solar and wind stations as we speak, so that will be out of the equation.
