I am in a fly over state. Just not close enough. I hope he ventures east of the Mississippi some day.:) I had a Towns Vans dant. On the brain for a comparison. John is great.
As an artist that never tried to "make it", but still very much appreciate when people listen to me, I've always wondered how it would feel to have people on the other side of the earth listening to my stuff. Here I am. A Swede, far up in the northern forests, listening to this guy from Oklahoma doing his thing. I wonder how it feels to touch hearts that way. It must be a wonderful feeling.

John’s releasing a new album called ‘LP5’ on February 7th 2020! You can listen to a song from the album called ‘East October’, like this comment to share the good news with everyone!
John, I found you like 4 months ago. No One has ever touch my soul with music like you have. Even I cant relate to every word you speak when you sing Tulsa etc cause I'm from Finland. But I truly believe and feel what you sing. When you come to Finland, please, have a beer with me. You got soul and you are not afraid to bring it to our faces. Poetry in its most beautiful way; raw and honest.
I'm from the U.S. and it's new music for me. I'm in the Inland Northwest. Up in the Eastern part of Washington state. Tulsa is a long way from me also. Still, when I discovered this raw country. Some, like John Moreland, are more folk, and some are more gritty Country but they're all talking right to me now. A good movie to watch is 'Heartworn Highways.' That movie was a revelation to me. I discovered a bunch of musicians I'd never heard of before and it has changed my life. Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Steve Earl, Rodney Crowel, Willie Nelson, and on and on and on. There's so much great music out there! My wife is moving into an advanced stage of dementia, I'm 55 years old, and my life is full and difficult. I've had an adventurous life with many memories, sadnesses, and triumphs. The more gritty country speaks directly to my life, even though I haven't ridden a horse since I was a child and have never owned a pickup truck or been to Tulsa. It's in me now.
John has this room in his shirt pocket. The camera catches people crying or sitting enthralled. That shows that he just smashes it in a liver performance. What a great singer/writer.
