    -----------------------------------------------------------
Trouble maintaining your balance is a very common problem with individuals with multiple sclerosis.
This video from Coach Trevor and the MS GYM will teach you how to work on your balance in all four planes - front to back and side to side from either a standing or seated position.
Whether you just received a multiple sclerosis diagnosis or have been previously diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, on a multiple sclerosis drug treatment plan, treating multiple sclerosis through HSCT or through diet changes exercise is extremely important and should also be in your toolbox for dealing with your multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Live your live by design and NOT BY DIAGNOSIS.

I'm 62 years old, have had MS for 25 years. I've done my share of time bed ridden, in a wheelchair, with a walker, a cane, in an AFO, and weeks at a time in the hospital with continuos PT. Your videos are a game changer, phrases such as "train your brain", and my favorite "that will make your brain feel safe" I've never had another therapist say those words. Not only do they make me feel better about my ability to take control, they just make me feel better. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🧡

As a physical therapist who has specialized training and works at an MS Center of Excellence, I am not surprised that you haven't heard some of those phrases before. Not many PTs have significant experience in treating MS. Though I appreciate that Trevor has some good exercises and resources, he is NOT a licensed physical therapist, and I wish that was more clearly stated. I also feel strongly that the MS gym does not replace the individualized and specific care that you can get from a trained PT. I will only show my patients some of these videos once I feel they have had proper education on body awareness, fatigue, and temperature control to be able to do these safely. All my patients are given a comprehensive exercise program, and these videos are a supplement if they want to switch it up a little. When you refer to him as a therapist, it is worrisome bc I feel it is important to clarify the difference. And I hope you keep strong and active!

@annac7838 Trevor reaches people that are at home, feeling hopeless. I've received therapy for years and I'm still getting worse. Sometimes hearing it a different way helps me. I also do not have all the equipment that a PT does. Trevor adapts exercises so I can do them at home.

The diagrams really help. I never thought of the whole chain of muscles working together. 💪🏼

Trying all these but the fear of falling is freaking me out and holding me back.

Ok Trevor, 3 years later, your speaking/delivery got a lot better. Still, I want you to breathe more deeply and present in a more gentle voice. This exercise is smart and specific, even for those without MS.
