  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory and degenerative disease but what exactly is inflammation? In this video I share about how our bodies experience inflammation, the types of inflammation, and how inflammation is associated with MS. I also share tips on how to reduce inflammation that may help us to reduce MS symptoms and possibly decrease the progression of our disease.

The best change in diet I made when trying to eat antiinflammatory was utilizing olive oil instead of other fats. It does have the same amount of calories, but because I don't really have an issue with calories, I'm able to saute everything in olive oil, meat, vegetables etc. Use as a base for salad dressings, and extra virgin is really good for bread dipping!

Thanks for watching. Yes, olive oil is definitely less damaging than many of the other fats. The body may be able to handle small amounts of oil, but please use caution when purchasing it as many are not pure and heating it can degrade it.

It’s really “connected the dots” for me - or some of them, I should say….there always seem to be more!!
Very interesting to hear of the sleep, blood pressure, myelin connection. “We are fearfully & wonderfully made” 😃🙏
That’s remotivated me to reduce my weight!!
The only specific thing I do for inflammation reduction is take high dose turmeric with black pepper & ginger 🙂

I started an exercise regime last week beyond my PT. I just realized my right leg and hand has been burning today, but my left is not.
The burning has been pretty consistent in both sides for quite a while. I can't say it's gone in the left, but it sure is nice to have some relief right now and I'm headed to the Y to work out a little more for the day.
I'm only doing as much in a day on my own as I do in an hour work my PT, except staying tomorrow I will be adding aqua therapy too.

“Healthy” bodies have inflammation. If you don’t have a functional medicine doctor looking for MCAS, EMF toxicity, water impurities , mold, poor sleep hygiene, and a multitude of other inflammatory causes, you’re only addressing the tip of the iceberg. Discipline and diligence to our emotional well being, amount and what food we intake, proper sunlight exposure, quality sleep, at least 12 hours of no eating so the body can regulate, repair and rejuvenate are just a start. There is no simple answer, only continuous work- because your life depends on it and you want to live a happy life. Find your joy, live in peace and the Universe will show up for you.

There is no diet proven to stop MS but there are things we can do to help with symptoms and possibly prevent progression. Eating a more whole food plant based diet, exercising regularly, getting good sleep, practicing mindfulness/kindness, and taking supplements under the direction of your doctor. Two supplements to ask about and have your levels checked are vitamin D and B12.
