Finally, some gameplay that doesn't make my eyes twitch. Looking forward to the crisp builds and effective solutions to come. Long series on this one, please, and thank you.
Glad you picked this one up, was looking for a decent video about it. I like this first stage, it seems like a good way to go through the tutorial phase, learn as you play kinda thing. Thanks!
I’ve been really interested in this one, I like the more narrative focus for a factory game too, not something we see a ton of. Closest it reminds me of is ixion, but that was really more a colony sim.
IDK if the reference im referring to would be understanded but when i see/hear Nilaus get annoyed at any game's tutorial i think of the exchange between Xe'ra and Illidan Stormrage in World of warcraft, Game - "Shhhh, you must listen to my tutorial" Nilaus - "I AM THE TUTORIAL!!"
15:40 Ugh, that's not how orbits work. Debris could definitely tear up the station but it wouldn't crash! Even if they completely lost all thrust for stationkeeping they'd just end up in some erratic orbit. With no atmosphere it should be practically impossible to deorbit into the moon unless you're really trying.
btw from the dev ... when queing the dig once it is the same colour keep doing your selection as the digging gets close it will step up the colour change as it gets to it ...
This one is on my wishlist! How much I watch of this is probably going to depend on how much of the story you show - factory spoilers I'm all in for, story spoilers I'd rather avoid.
From reviews, it looks like (bugs aside) this game has some of the same basic issues that Ixion had (and maybe still has?). Those were being a nominally sandboxy game embedded in a narrative framework, but with very tight demands that are poorly telegraphed in service of the narrative. The playstyle that you get in response to that is to play ahead, learn what you're gonna need to get done, and then roll back and work towards that, rather than actually playing in direct response to the narrative. I'm curious whether that's actually how it is, or if reviewers are just bad.
seems to be a bit of room for cre8tive financing here as well as factory, it might be worth making a bunch of warehouses to buy low and sell high... so that you can continue on belt and other capital intensive endeavors.
That main rescue quest line has a few issues. I've restarted a few times and it has bugged out. I failed once, because i did the scan thing wrong, so decided to load an old save. Well, the quest was still completely gone as if I failed it from a 30 min old save. It's early access. This game has a lot of potential and has some very good things going for it. It reminds me a lot of Steam World: Build, I think it is? Only because it has an overworld/underground system. We'll see how it evolves!
What happened at 24:24 when building the refineries? There was an edit and I didn’t see how the silicon problem was solved. I suppose delete the extractor on the silicon node, build up silicon until the refinery is built, and then rebuild the extractor?
Imminent asteroid strike? . I guess they changed the definition of imminent…..looks like Robert got hit by that imminent asteroid strike. Can’t say I’m too upset, he kinda sounded like a jerk.
The dialog is freaking annoying.... But the gameplay looks interesting enough. As long as nilaus keeps fast forwarding the annoying voices, I'm looking forward to seeing this as a series.
Over dialog kills games imho. Why do developers think we need such - we can also work things out & we learn while doing it. Give the lore without over dialog acting.
Gonna be a hard pass for me. First red flag is it's an Early Access title and the past few years have shown us the vast majority of EA titles are total scams and usually abandoned or never actually released. I don't spend my money on unfinished and unreleased games that just want you to be a free beta tester for a dev that doesn't care about my input, no matter how good the gameplay and reviews look. Second red flag is when the developer comes into Steam reviews and starts talking down to reviewers and treating them like they're children when the reviewer is clearly someone well educated and very knowledgeable about the game and the subject of VA work which was one of their complaints and is making very clear and concise points and critiques of the unfinished game being sold.
You know that Factorio was "early access" for like a decade? And it was at the quality level of a full game for at least half that time. Similar story with Satisfactory. I don't dispute that there are plenty of abandoned EA games, but that's not enough to swear off all of them forever. The review thing is another matter. I'd want to look myself but it could definitely be a red flag.
I love that Nilaus' niche as a gaming youtuber is "Being competent" XD
Oh finally, someone that READS plays this game yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Oh, I've been *hoping* we'd see a Nilaus series on this game.
Finally, some gameplay that doesn't make my eyes twitch. Looking forward to the crisp builds and effective solutions to come. Long series on this one, please, and thank you.
YES!!! You're playing this game. More please.
Finally, been waiting for you to get your hands on this game.
Oooooooo Let's Go!! Long series, please!!
Yes! Finally some effective layouts!
Nice, looking like Surviving Mars
OOOOOOH yea this game I remember the early access game play I'm glad its released and you are playing it.
Early access is not full release, technically 😅
Glad you picked this one up, was looking for a decent video about it. I like this first stage, it seems like a good way to go through the tutorial phase, learn as you play kinda thing. Thanks!
I'd forgotten about you but watched a lot of your Dyson Sphere content. So glad your going to do The Crust!
Been watching a lot of incompetent builders :)
So glad you're doing this game. I've played games and didn't enjoy then watched you play and then I loved the game!
Man you're a beast with these games master one after another...
The game has expanded significantly (including in research). And I'm really looking forward to your variation of the walkthrough.
nice lets watch nilaus crack this game in no time flat :D well until factorio expansion comes out :p
I’ve been really interested in this one, I like the more narrative focus for a factory game too, not something we see a ton of. Closest it reminds me of is ixion, but that was really more a colony sim.
Ah, such a gorgeous game. This one is gonna help with the wait until October.
so hype to see an epic Nilaus Bus hahaha
STOP SAYING "OVER AND OUT"!
On another note, yay Nilaus playthrough!
Yeah, this peeved me to.... DreamingDodo Out.
Yup yup it's much better when you explain it 👍
Thank you for the gameplay, internet stranger :)

oh this looks like so much fun! i'm looking forward to seeing much, much more!!
oh good the release has the story mode ... the beta and demo were fun ... quite a few changes from old to now too
btw from the dev ... when queing the dig once it is the same colour keep doing your selection as the digging gets close it will step up the colour change as it gets to it ...
excited!
The Crust is out? Heck yeah. Fun game. I paused the video so I can have it downloading while I watch. 👍
This one is on my wishlist! How much I watch of this is probably going to depend on how much of the story you show - factory spoilers I'm all in for, story spoilers I'd rather avoid.
Hate how I have to set notifications to All just to get notification. Thanx Nilaus.
Lets Go. Absolutely Loving the game
I wish I could have backed this, I'm always to late to stuff like this; Looks good and fun!
not gonna lie Nilaus i really hope you will be able to keep up with manufacturing a large amounts of stuff cause things will get crazy as you play
I'm not sure the world will be able to handle another game besides Factorio "grandfather" and Satisfactory "grandmother" of the factory genre!.
Oh man, this reminds me of Outpost (the original, not Outpost 2) especially with the underground.
I'm looking forward to qol with conveyors with filtering which previous builds of game did not have

Of course this is the game you choose😅, love the factorio content, just several more months!
Sweet I was hoping you would play this game. Please play more
seems to be a bit of room for cre8tive financing here as well as factory, it might be worth making a bunch of warehouses to buy low and sell high... so that you can continue on belt and other capital intensive endeavors.
ooh, new autmation game, gonna check it out, thanks for the showcase!
Just waiting for the spreadsheets to come out.

This game seems a bit inspired by the original Outpost game by Sierra published 30 years ago.
A factory game that's not an Early access?? Kind of hard to believe 😅😅
So it's Surviving Mars, but on the Moon...
What happened at 24:24 when building the refineries? There was an edit and I didn’t see how the silicon problem was solved. I suppose delete the extractor on the silicon node, build up silicon until the refinery is built, and then rebuild the extractor?
looks like a bit like "surving Mars"
Is the moon going to become a rogue planetoid like in space 1999?
Yeah finally :D
Imminent asteroid strike? . I guess they changed the definition of imminent…..looks like Robert got hit by that imminent asteroid strike. Can’t say I’m too upset, he kinda sounded like a jerk.
Brother please put your playlist in order. I’m starting this playlist and episode 1 is listed as video 6 of 9.
This game looks great! Quite sad that you can't play it on mac. 😢
Edit: hmm, their website shows that it's also available on mac&linux.
Looks less like a Factory Sim and more of a linear story puzzle like Ixion and Frostpunk...
some crusty lunar burgers yay
They have way too much dialog. This is about the 4th set of videos I’ve seen and the squeaky voices certainly grates
Surprised you didn't just start a sandbox game.
This game reminds me of planetbase but more of a modern take
can you fix the playlist cause it is very out of order. lol starts at 6 then counts down to this, then goes to 7.
The dialog is freaking annoying.... But the gameplay looks interesting enough. As long as nilaus keeps fast forwarding the annoying voices, I'm looking forward to seeing this as a series.
"imminent impact," they say, AFTER it hits. :|
Over dialog kills games imho. Why do developers think we need such - we can also work things out & we learn while doing it. Give the lore without over dialog acting.
Crusty the clown
Yes more, but please just play your own map instead of the story, gonna be another Riftbreaker, them talking over you the whole time
are they using ai generated images and voices?
Some of the voices. Said to "just be placeholders" on the forums.
Too many acronyms in this game, the dialogue gives you a headache after a while
Jeez this what u call being bombarded by so much dialogue and contracts that you cant even get on with playing, major irritating...👎
What is with these new games using words wrong? "Imminent" means _about_ to happen, not _just_ happened. FFS.
Fucking hell the constant bickering of these people will make me rage quit this game.
gah, the constant narration of this game is a real downer.

This game looks cool but there is too much dialogue. Just let me turn it off. No one cares.
The series I've been waiting for! Lest go
