As a UI Designer, I'm in love with the look, feel, animations, color choices. I'm definitely adding this game to my library and following you for guidance. Thank you!
The interface is so beautiful. Everything is so easy to access from the keyboard and so amazingly smooth to work with. I don't know how they did it, but they did it damn near perfectly.
for me this Grayish, purpleish color on the world Is a little offputing, I would have like a more clean White "Iphone world" Palette. But the Icons and Ui is 10/10
I wholeheartedly agree. Side topic. Any good books on UI/UX design you can recommend?
Honestly, I played original shapes, but if I ever get shapes2 I’m following you for guidance. I do not care if this is super outdated. This is what I’m watching.
@@robbiesmith79 ahh here we go, I tagged you. Any good books on UI or UX you can recommend?
That belt laying is so amazing! As a long-time Factorio player, watching those belts being constructed is pure heaven! Thanks for the amazing content!
Didn’t know this game existed until Satisfactory tweeted about it - so cool of them to do that. Then I loaded the game on Steam and was pleasantly surprised to find a Nilaus livestream featured on the Steam store page - with endorsement like that, it was an instant buy. Loving it so far, and looking forward to following your gameplay and your designs!
Sounds to me like these factory games should pay you tubers to play the game. Only reason why I would buy a game, seeing it played like this gives me a chance to see if I like it , without their ridiculous intro videos
This game scratches the exact same itch as Satisfactory for me. The animations and the feel of it all, plus an effortless and consequence free system of editing lines? Yes.
The new stacker is really nice, it makes it really clear how the shapes stack vertically. I can't recall how many times I set up a stacker in Shapez 1 and ended up stacking the inputs in reverse.
i still stack shapes in reverse in shapez 2 but that's 100% a me problem xd
I am deferring watching this. Played the first 3 milestones (adore the game so far) and watching nilaus do beautiful symmetrical factories is something i want to save until after ive built my own monstrosity
In regards to deleting belts on the lower level when the higher one is in the way - there is a very nice V key which hides above layers so you can see and focus only on your current layer
This is my first factory-game I'm playing. It's easy to understand this game, but it is night and day the way I have stuff setup compared to how you've set everything up.
Even just seeing the way you've set it up here 4:50, like wow. I am too stupid to think of doing it 'efficiently'. You have everything so neat and compact. I am learning a lot!
I love the little lifts for the shapes, it’s so cool and it really is the little parts that make good games.
"I promised to make no Spaghetti...and here we are" I laughed so hard 😂😂😂
He forgets to say "I am the tutorial" and proceeds to do spaghetti, someone is out of shape. :D
It's funny Nilaus says that as their are multiple occasions where it's definitely not the case.
Can't be an expert of a game on the day of the release. Early game is a mess in most factory games; tools are limited and it is temporary. As we get more tools available you will see more structure emerge
@@Nilaus my comment was meant as a friendly jibe and a pun on the game in question.
Spaghetti or bust
@@Nilaus pfft. your skill at these games is why i can't watch anyone else play them :)
I knew this was the correct place to decide if I wanted to buy EA vs wait till full release.
The game looks awesome and the QoL features are on point from this video. Thanks for another fun video nilaus
The ability to undo is so amazing, saved me couple times when I accidentally deleted my spaghetti mess.
Just spent an evening playing Shapez 2. Wow. There is so much to do. And the new space belts are mesmerising. Can't wait to play tomorrow.
Oh wow, building the belts seems just so effortless in this game! I'm very much looking forward to more of this!
Lovely video! This is the first video (ever) that I watch of you. Was searching for a channel that had has made more than just one “review” video of Shapez 2 and came across your channel. Amazing explanations of all the mechanics of this game. Am looking forward to watching and catching up with the rest of this series!!!
Oh wow, this is right up my alley. This perfectly scratches that factorio itch while being different from factorio itself. I know you're a bit worn out with that game.
Looking forward to seeing a great series from an excited nilaus!
If you ever have spaghetti belts, just delete everything other than the last shape you're doing(a.k.a. cleaning up after yourself)
With satisfactory 1.0 and facotrio 2.0 so close I am not going to start a new early access game :) But go for it guys, report all the bugs, I will jump on the shapez train later. The UI/controls look smooth.
Try Foundry
How have I slept on this game series? What an amazing UI and overall smooth and relaxing experience to ply. Even if I can predict the sphagetti and OCD madness that will consume me.
Been a while since I poked my head in to your channel, Nilaus. Still wonderful to listen to your smooth Teutonic intonations. :)
Excellent Video Nilaus.
I have watched your YT vids for years (Factorio plus some of your other stuff) but I am still amazed at how good you are at these games.
I have over 6000 hours in Factorio ( I am hanging out for Factorio 2.0 and Factorio Space Age on October 21st ! ) and figured Shapez might be worth a look.
I purchased Shapez 2 today and played for a couple of hours this afternoon.
Then I watched this the first vid in your series.. damn you make it look easy.
Well done fella. Thank you.
Been really excited for this, Shapez is what led me to finally try Factorio. I got so tired of reading the "well, in Factorio..." comments on Shapez videos, that I finally broke down and tried it.
Same although I feel that even Shapez was more straight-forward. I'll need hours of learning the basics for Factorio I think.
Woohoo can’t wait for a new Nilaus series
This is a great game. My factory setup is hilariously inefficient, but I do enjoy seeing my needlessly complicated trains and spaghetti belts.
I look at my factory and don't even know where stuff comes or goes from right away with belts and trains going way out on the map.
Shapez 1 is the game that got me into factory automation games. I've been meaning to pick this one up, it looks so good!
I realized I had gotten Shapez from the Epic store for free. Seeing these videos inspired me to try it out and I love it.
Can't wait for Shapez 2 to go on sale.
It took you only 19 minutes to convince me to buy it. I'm really enjoying it.
Anxiously keep waiting to see if Nilaus discovers the ramps to jump over belts
Great gameplay! I can tell you're a veteran, I learned so many small tricks and improvements from your builds!
Man and here i am about to start my next semester of college D: no free time for my gaming life
I've been waiting all year for this
I bought it like 2 minutes after launch 😅
One cool feature I like is that you can build shapes for the future tasks and it counts toward them, even if the task before it isn't complete yet.
Nice start! Can Not wait for more to come 👍
Have loved Shapez since the first game, and I'm loving the extra scale and mechanics that the new version has brought. I can usually manage to work things out on my own, but it's really nice to see how to keep things neat and orderly, since that is definitely not one of my strengths. Keep up the good work :)
Looks so fun, can't wait for more in the series!
Can't wait to play this game this weekend. I'll be missing the streams as I demonstrate the true meaning of spaghetti on my own. Thank you for covering this game.
Oh man Im so getting this game! Just the ease of building things -and UNBUILDING - is really appealing. The grindiness of *Just Building A Big Thing* (Or tearing it down because you messed up) in Factorio always leaves me feeling bored and dissatisfied, which I really hope their big update here in October fixes, I mean, Factorio is still an amazing game (I've got over 1K hours on it) but I have to be in a certain mood to endure the grind to a personal roboport / copypaste.
DSP is also similar like that, you can just paste down a huge blueprint and watch your assemblers build the whole thing, very satisfying. I had a great time with that game but I got bored after I had to transport things across star systems, I didnt like having to rebuild everything from scratch on a new planet.
Haven't been able to watch a lot lately, but I'm definitely looking forward to this one. Thanks, Nilaus!
i love the compass at the bottom left
I've been playing as well! It's so interesting how many ways you can solve some of these shapes!
I appreciate you showing off new games and making it fun. If it weren’t for you doing this, I wouldn’t have purchased this one plus the extra content. Looking forward to more great examples on keeping it fun and efficient.🎉
Yes! saw your earlier show case video and bought the game emidiately today when it was released. Thanks for sharing and look forward to see your blue prints
Such a wonderful and just pure enjoyment to play. This was an instant buy for me.
Nice early play through. Thanks. I just bought this game.
Love it, i just delete everything once a task is compelte and build it back from scratch to make the constructs as efficient as possible and at the same time learn the mechanics :) But i also like how you play :D i definitly took more time figuring out how i can play at 100% efficiency xD
the belting is the best i have ever seen :)
I agree
so excited to play this!
Bought it a couple hours ago, feel really good to play
I watched half of the video and I thought Man you seem very excited about the game and I had problems following then I noticed that I’m watching in 1,25x speed
Hurray lets go, looking forward to it
I'd really like a playthrough where you're actually figuring things out instead of already knowing what to do before the whole thing starts.
Wow! I had no idea Shapez 2 would look so promising 😮 Good choice!
looking forward with what is to come lets go!
I have so many hours in Shapez 1... I've been waiting for this.
I‘m so ready for this game!
Everything looks so easy when you do it.
I took off to play tomorrow😭🤣
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THE NILMASTER HAS ARRRIIIVED, get shaped
Oh, Shapez 2 dropped! Thanks Nilaus!
starting at 15:05, there are good hints, but a bit unclear or misleading ...
When Nilaus says _"you can do _*_this"_* and something happens after he did _*that*,_ what did he really do ?
Answer : although he said "to delete something, press >I
yeah .. also convinced i might be in the mood for this at some point. adding it to the lib.
Long time fan of the first version and have played the demo of the sequel with it wishlisted for sooo long. Saw title of this and instantly went to buy it. Hell YEAH!
The UI is so clean 😮
Well, i'm buying this game immediately
52:50 bro had to edge us, he knows how to get viewership :)
Finally! Waiting for this for a while now!
Rotation is later important when you have multiple layers
There's a rumor going around that you like the belt mechanics of this game 😏
I can see this game getting big with speed runners
This game is a masterclass in UI/UX
Part of me wished the buildings cost the recourse we sink into the vortex.
Also. It looks incredibly godly compared to prev game
The Factory must grow!
Going out on a limb here @3:33. SPAGHETTI!
called it...
shapez 1 is great
This game is gorgeous 💜
During your pre-launch stream earlier tbspr games subbed to your channel and you said “thanks pspsps games.”
Bro that’s Tobias Springer Games. The creator of Shapez. 😅 Was very awkward
I know him well, but teasing him that he chose an unpronounceable name for his company. Try pronouncing 'tobspr'
@@Nilaus Oh okay! I was like man oh no!! He doesn’t know hahaha. Glad to hear it. Hope you’re enjoying the game sir
It shows you what happens if you try to stack more than 4. The demo thing made the blue one on top disappear and you were left with only green. I wondered what would happen as well and I tried it, but i noticed the helper shows it when I watched your video.
this game is incredible
The belts are literally so easy now that I find myself lost and looking for the mergers 😅 It's going to take me a while to unlearn Shapez 1
awesome looks great. thanks for the content love it
More!!! Love it!🎉
buyed the game before 3 seconds of the video i loved the first one so much
Sweet, thanks for your effort!
Dear God i didnt realize i could put machines on the higher floors 😂😂
I played Shapez 1 (badly) and I've just started the tutorial - I'm on the 3rd Milestone and it did not occur to me to split 1 belt into 3 and then merge when cutting. Looks so much better than what I did XD EDIT: I forgot that they were called Milestones -.-
Game look great and fun . Just one thing , it seems to me that a task sub steps shapes are mostly the same shape but with either a change in one machine or the addition of one . Hence adding or modifying that one step seems "easier" than rebuilding the whole chain.
Anyways thanks for the content :)
Yes, this is the intention of the progression within each task. To teach modularity instead of redesigning from scratch
Spaghetti is inevitable. Embrace the spaghetti.
Hope it would be long series
i wonder if its possible to create a "Make Anything Machine" like in the original shapez.
11:16 this means no stupidly hard shapes like the rocket or logo in shapez 1! Though im sure it'll be even harder. Like what the heck is Hexaganol shapes! Imagine making a MAM in this game! I don't even know how to make a MAM in shapez! Still playin tho ✔
wait is that a link to Shapez 2's _Wikipedia article_ on the title screen? Huh???
Hello Nilaus, I like your Videos and your approach to theese Games very much and thats why I'm a Patreon Supporter 🙂 I like games like ONI and DSP. Lets see if I like Shapez2 also. Thank you for your Inspirations!!
@47:33 you can toggle visibility of the top layer
He clearly didn't read the shortcuts / key binds before playing 🤣
He did say "there are a lot of keybinds, I'm probably going to forget"
I am using that shortcut s lot later on when building more on both levels
This looks really nice! How awesome is the belt tool..? Have to check if it runs well on my m1 max macbook.
This is objective programing.... you can program simple stuff like this. Like in S-700 simmens PLC.
Not even 24 hours and there's content
I couldn't really get into the first game. Is this one mechanically different in a significant way?
Hes doing the TUTORIAL
I just wanted to watch a clean basic one
S P A G H E T T I 😂😂
