With Rocko's boundless energy, you need to train her to retrieve the camera and tripod. 🙂
You can often see that she is concerned about it and sort of wants to remind you to come back and get it. It's neat how dogs will place themselves between two things/people if they seem to be in danger of getting separated.

I think it is a natural instinct, my little dog (Chiwi/CairnTerrier-X) does that often on our walks/hikes. Sometimes I drop a glove, and she is ahead of me. When she stops, she looks behind me and keeps staring at me, so i know there is 'something' that requires my attention. She also waits for me when I'm falling behind for ehatever reason. Like I do for her when she is having a 'sniffing-blast'. Animals are respectful and we are their leader, so.... I love it when we are walking and she is far ahead of me, then stops, looks where I am, and keeps looking at me until I caught up, like "are you ok, mom?", and other people can't believe that she does that by free will, instead of running away like most other dogs would do.

It makes you feel good about humans when you see how people are pitching in to maintain that beautiful cabin. Nice to see you and Rocko getting out into the woods. Man that hotspring is great. It's nice that they made the valve system without going too far and spoiling the natural setting. Ol Rocko the mouse-hunter! My friend is a commercial organic farmer and she has a couple of dogs like Rocko. They are mouse/vole hunting about 95% the time their outside. There is not greater excitement for them.
Can you post directions for the trailhead to that hotspring?
Way to go the extra mile in restocking the wood supply. This video has it all ... solo hot spring, black bear glimpses, really nice cabin, slow-cooked ribs, Rocko and you. Very nice. My rainy holiday weekend is salvaged!

It always amazes me that there are some people who takes their time to build such amazing cabins for others to enjoy.
It was nice to see how clean it was!
And kudos to any volunteer groups or individuals out there who work to maintain these cabins, so that they stay in good condition and do not fall into disrepair.
Yeah so often they fall into rubble. Big thanks to whoever was responsible for the renovations.

i had to open up my cabin for everyone, i had locked everything up and put up 50 no trespassing signs but once a single human being spots your trail, they follow it, when they see the cabin they get excited and when the see the locked door and shutters, they break in, ransack the place, vandalize everything and steal the rest.... when you leave it open, stock some food and firewood, they seem to be much less angry
Seeing a log cabin with a green roof gives this gen-x viewer nostalgia for playing with Lincoln Logs as a kid. Great video as always Foresty.

I loved the sound in this video. I started paying attention to the sound when you were adding in sounds like you speaking into the tree, and that was fun. But the naturally occurring sounds then were also outstanding and enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the fire. All the best to everyone.

I'm sure its been asked before, but do you ever have to worry about Rocko with elevation when climbing? I'm sure she's conditioned , just wonder if she let's you know when she needs to be carried .
I haven't noticed anything, she's been up to 14,000 ft and was just as energetic! If she starts to get cold, she will come to me and ask to ride inside my jacket 🙂

Anytime I go back to Canada it's always in the Kootenays that I linger...and for my rig there is not enough power for a Ninja Foodie but there is for a small crockpot! I'm going to try those ribs as the 1st meal when I truly go full-time!
