      Actually at the fall of Communism there was a risk of it coming back so to not let that happen Democrats discredited everything the Communists ever did in Albania. The truth is that the bunkers were not built out of paranoia but as a strategy to prevent a Yugoslavian and a Greek invasion. You see Yugoslavia had gotten green light from Russia to invade Albania because Albania refused to let Russia rule over Albania. When the Albanian government understood what Russia was up to, they cut ties with them, banning Russian military out of Albania so Russia had only one option... invasion! Greece had already attacked Albania's south in battles known as Provokacia and all of this was top secret and the Albanian population never knew of the danger and thought that all of that bunker building was paranoia. This propaganda and disinformation is so strong that to this day Albanians believe it! Communist Albania built it's war capabilities enough that whoever invaded first would be the loser! Meaning if Yugoslavia invaded Albania they would lose and if Albania invaded Yugoslavia, Albania would lose! This way Albania wasn't sparking any doubts to why it was arming itself except for protection and was able to maintain status quo. That is why the war never came during communist times but when Democracy came to Albania, Greece and Serbia nearly invaded Albania in 97 as soon as they saw Albania was in crisis and not as able as before to protect itself! It was thanks to Turkey who threatened total war if Albania was invaded that Albania was saved once again! Albania has been in danger of being completely invaded by it's neighbors since the 1800's and today their strategy to avoid invasion of any kind is EU membership.

    To be honest 6 million people visited Albania in 2019. That's twice the population of the country. After the pandemic situation numbers have fallen but also 2021 was a real good year in terms of tourism for Albania. So it is not true that no one visits Albania 😁. You don't have to compare it to Greece that is one of the world's most famous tourist destination. Other than this correction i must say that you are such a cute and beautiful girl 😍

    15:37 That cosmic object is the Moon, and that is south, the Sun sets 90 degrees to the right and it can't be enjoyed from Tirana because the city is surrounded by hills.

    • @Gerico9008
      @Gerico9008 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re so wrong. The sunset in Tirana can be seen from there and it’s beautiful. Hopefully they’re not going to build more and more higher. That would be a problem.

    • @eneasota
      @eneasota 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Gerico9008 Well, to be honest, you're right that I'm wrong, the sun sets everywhere , but living in Tirana for so long, I've seen the sun rise from behind Dajti mountain near the middle of the day, and the sun going down over the hills, but being born in Fier and living there for a large portion off my life, I've seen the sun rising from the the edge of horizon and sun-set as far as your eyes can without anything blocking the view but the roundness of Earth, my city is almost entirely flat, few hills south and south-east.
      Hahahahahahah, tani e vura re qe qenke shqiptar o Gero, e kam fjalen qe ne Tirane te pengon Dajti dhe kodrat qe ta shohesh lindjen dhe perendimin athere kur vertet ndodh ngjarja, ne dimer ne Tirane Dielli del nga mbrapa Dajtit rreth ores 9:30, por ne fakt Dielli ka lindur rreth dy ore perpara.
      Afersisht para dy vjetesh kam fotografuar eklipsin e Diellit ne Fier ne oren 5:30 te mengjesit ne vere, ne Tirane nuk ka asnje shans qe te shohesh Diellin ne 5:30 te mengjesit pervec se ne maje te Dajtit, e njejta edhe me perendimin, eshte pozicioni gjeografik i Tiranes i tille, mes kodrave dhe maleve.

    That’s great but I always wondered why so many Polish people like Albania. A honest question because I have encountered many Polish people even during my summer job and they really are great people and really told me that they like my country. One of the reasons is that it is cheap, I know that already. But anyways thank you for making a video about Albania. I hope you had a blast here. 😊

    So I can't speak for Tirana but I have spent 60 days in Albania so far. (Durres & Vlore). I think the Albanian Riviera is better suited for older expats. Even at the beaches, there's not much boat services, no surfing scene, It's pretty boring. No real malls or movie theaters, there's over 100 people on the busses, the language is the 4th hardest in the world, and rental prices are much cheaper in Greece. Also, it isn't as cheap as you'd expect. I pay around 10 usd for a basic meal at restaurants. No chain restaurants either btw. If you aren't white, you will get leered at. The people are friendly though- the people are cool. I just hope the infrastructure improves. If you are looking for a variety of cuisine, Albania ain't the place. At least where I was, every single restaurant pretty much had the same menu. Pasta, Fish, Seafood, or Pizza.
