      The variety is the spice. Most foreigners think Copenhagen is all there is thus the country (because of its size) must be like this everywhere, only that's really just one small part of the culture... For its size, it's still as different within as say Texas is to New York or L.A.

    I have not seen the mermaid in Denmark, but I have seen a copy in a place very far away. There is a resort called Danish Lagoon in Siquijor, Philippines that is designed like a theme park of HC Andersen and on the beach you will find the mermaid. The place is owned by a Danish couple.

    • @shaving_ryans_privates_4408
      @shaving_ryans_privates_4408 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pgpc6448 Yeah, we Danes really appreciate when someone of a higher rank or authority is on the same level as everyone else. If a teacher walks in and expects to be referred to by their last name, the students won't respect them, and will most likely refer to the teacher as their first name regardless of the teacher's authority. The same thing applies to other people of authority like police, your boss etc. I don't know how people would talk to the judge in court tho, as almost all courts are behind closed doors and almost never filmed.

      I think it would be awkward using my teachers first name.
      I mean when you speak to a police officer or the president you don’t use their first name.

    • @shaving_ryans_privates_4408
      @shaving_ryans_privates_4408 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@freewithnature When police officers speak to me, after looking at my ID or something, they refer to me by the first name. I haven't spoken to a police officer where I knew their name, but I'd think it's quite natural here in Denmark for citizens to refer to police officers as well by their first name. We're just not that formal here.

I think that apart from really old people we all understand English that's why on our public transport in Copenhagen is also in English so that people from other countries also understand the announcements on the speakers.🎉

    Wow!! I am an older American and I was in Copenhagen a few years back with one of my kids who was working there for a short time. I learned more about the city and country from your video than I did when I was there. I enjoyed my visit a lot but I was struck by several things which over time I have come to a better perspective about. One, it did seem that most people out and about were young people 25-35 years old or so. It also seemed that everyone had money. I didn't see anyone who looked strapped for cash at least in appearance. It was very neat and clean and I found the people to be friendly and welcoming and I never met anyone who couldn't speak English. It had a bit of the same vibe as you get in a upscale planned community in the US where everyone appears to be similar. That alone can make you feel comfortable if you too fit that demographic which I did. It did feel crowed and the Airbnb we had was very nice but very small especially the bathroom. Last but not least I was blown away by the number of bikes. Bikes were literally everywhere by the hundreds or thousands. Anyway thanks for the tour and facts about your home country. You have a talent for doing this. I wish you well!!

    Nice! What a place! I’m sure the “happiness” thing has a lot to do with feeling safe, tho, having all you need to live at such easy ways, might create some voids or emptiness… anyway, I’m planing on moving there soon, and your video helped me a lot!

    Hi, thank you kindly for your video. Basically I’ve just watched the Danish trilogy of Pusher and was absolutely blown away with it. I’ve started to get into Mads Mikkelsen and Kim Bodnia movies/TV Shows. Your country looks absolutely beautiful. How far is the Copenhagen FC. Denmark is certainly on my wish list. 55% Tax? Wow! That’s robbery. That’s really bad. No wonder the population is not that much. Thank you kindly for making this video. May God bless Denmark.

    I love Denmark. I was born in Europe (-no country name-), however, I have been living for years of more than half of my life in countries like Mexico, Panama, The Philipines, MEXICO (Resident), China (to become a resident next year), and Vietnam which is on my TOP # 1 Gorgeous and Happiest people in the world. Now, Denmark Is actually the ONLY ONE country I consider the best among all European countries in Any Aspect of social, environmental, economic, business, life, and so on. I love Denmark and surprisingly I'll go back to DK by January and I'll be living and working for one year in Aarhus. Stay Blessed DK Stay Blessed World!

    I am a Filipina living in Sweden, I went to Denmark 2 days ago to do some important thing. I found people in Denmark are very friendly, everyone I crossed path with smile on me, very different to Sweden, no offense to the Swede. Your train system is a bit confusing though but I get familiar when getting around.

    One thing about income tax, if you're paying 55% income tax, you're not paying 55% on all of your income as its a tiered system. The first tier is tax free!
    As for what the tax pays for? One thing was mentioned here - student grants (or the "wage" as it was called). Others are subsidised childcare, free schooling, free healthcare, subsidised dentists, basic unemployment benefit, no university/ college fees, statutory sick pay etc.
