I visited Tirana in 2019, just before the lockdown. I was pleasantly surprised. The locals where friendly and made an Englishman welcome. Even more so when I explained I was not American. Not many people speak English so I accepted the challenge and travelled around town using only the local busses. I made it. great fun.

@@goingtoworld Please don't. Your videos are misleading and full of shit. If you want to talk about religions go to fucking Turkey or Greece or Serbia. These are religious countries and people. Don't come to our land to stir up shit.
Great video... But.... When some one talks about religion they should keep in mind that in Albania religion comes second or not at all...in Albania people identify as Albanians not as Muslims or Catholics or orthodox... We are bound by blood not religion... Religion is used for political purposes by our neighbours... Such as the anatollian Greek gypsies and the serbs...to divide our people... . We are an ancient nation and as I said... We are Albanians and united by the duble headed Eagle....

That was actually a well made travel documentary. I just wanted to add that during in the 70s, during communist albania, things were as fine as they could be. They had a lot of problems, but after the coup most of their services and industry got privatized, with the real estate business currently being a huge problem in Albania trying to constantly raise prices by especulation, etc. It is important to clarify that they had barely no unemployment during the 70s, romani and egyptians were actually part of the society (which now days they clearly aren't anymore), along other things. It is important to show that capitalism, for the Albanian people, promised hope and gave them nothing in return
Please accept our gratitude for your compliment and your interesting insight into Albania. We really much appreciate your time and thoughtfulness. We hope that everything will change for the better for Albania. 👼🏻 We also wish you all the best Julio! Nici & Roberto
Cool video but I must say, it's not nice introducing Albania through the minaret speakers. Religious traditions are leftovers from the middle ages and not something Albanians take pride of. Seeing foreigners put religious stuff as the face of the country is utterly disgusting. Sorry.
Sorry Dren Leka, we didn't mean to offend you! 😔 We love Albania which has so much to offer (we could not show it all, but two more videos will follow). ♥️🇦🇱 Thank you for commenting, we really appreciate it.
@@blackeagle7947 It's pure ignorance of the naive traveler. The ones who think it is cool to capture images which seem exotic without knowing much what those images represent to the locals or the lack of representation. I see this ignorance a lot from Italian tourists and I am so perplexed. I am an Italophone myself. There are half a million Albanians in Italy representing all walks of life there. It has to be a really dumb Italian not to get an understanding of the social norms and behavior of Albanians and in particular their general lack of religious identity. I am glad that the new generations are going away from the Italophone influence by seeing elsewhere, like Germany, Switzerland...
I agree 100% Western Europeans and Americans bending backwards trying to portray Albania as an islamic country is insulting, disgusting and they're being disingenuous. These same cowards wont set foot in Iran, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia but want Albania to be like them.
Besides City sight & activities , In my opinion as a citizen there are a lot of Nature getaways in Tirana & some of them adventurous for example Ibë location and it’s caves and waterfalls
Well where can I start?!!! You are making this video just about religion really based on the video.. the sound of the start of your video , and throw out you your video, and the end of the video..you have only mosk sound..I'm Albanian but I don't really like this when people make videos on religion which in Albania is not an important thing. Because we all live happy together no matter what you are..so not really impressed with your video.
Përshëndetje Johny, faleminderit for your honest feedback as an Albanian! Of course you see your country from different eyes and much deeper than we can ever see it! 💘 As you say, we think it’s fantastic that all religions live happily together in Albania! 🥰 We were not aware that so many Albanians are non-practicing believers and that religion is not important in their lives (we have heard the muezzin a thousand times and have seen so many mosques all over the country). Albania is a magnificent country and we found it impressive - from every perspective. However, as you say, there are many people in Albania who are irreligious and that is also important to say here, as we have learnt. In our second video about Albania we will mention this fact. Thank you for your valued comment and your time! All the best and have a nice evening. ♥️🇦🇱

@@goingtoworld He is from the Middle East. He appears to have taken the decision to visit Albania based on your misrepresentation of the country. The shock he will have once he is here. Many Middle Easterners visit Albania based on Wikipedia religious statistics and somehow develop an immature sympathy, only to visit it and find out that the people are totally irreligious if not anti religion, and get disappointed. They get disappointed because of their ignorance, ignorant media and not really knowing the people and its culture.
Thank you for visiting Albania and for the accurate analysis of the economic situation and corruption. But I want to say that only one sentence you said 10:07 made me understand that you again know very little about Albania and why you made a tour around it. Those words are out of place in a country that has the beginnings of its European civilization as early as the 12th century before Christ, such as the ancient city of Epidamus (Durres today), Shkodra, Bylis, Butrinti, etc. that I cannot mention here that you will spend more than an hour writing. In the German encyclopedia of the 18th century, for example, it is written that the Albanians are the first Christians in Europe. The history and the many conquests in this country with an indigenous people in the Balkans make us have three religions today in modern days. But this has not prevented us from uniting and identifying ourselves in our unique ancient traditions that belong to the beginning of civilization in Europe. Europe had its beginnings and culture from the Balkans in the West and not from the West in the East (Balkans-always within Europe)

I visited Tirana in 2019, just before the lockdown. I was pleasantly surprised. The locals where friendly and made an Englishman welcome. Even more so when I explained I was not American. Not many people speak English so I accepted the challenge and travelled around town using only the local busses. I made it. great fun.

Hi Flutura 🤗, thank you for your comment, we totally agree! 💯😍🇦🇱😘
Dear Tomi, faleminderit shumë for your honest and direct words. 🙏🏻 We are grateful if you help to complete the video with your comments. You are Albanian and of course you can portray your country from a different perspective. Thank you very much for that!
It's always a reason why they're doing this shit. Take a guesssss, They love us to much
@@blackeagle7947 It's pure ignorance of the naive traveler.
I agree 100%
Western Europeans and Americans bending backwards trying to portray Albania as an islamic country is insulting, disgusting and they're being disingenuous.

Truly nice video
Dear Dave! ☺️ Thank you so much for watching! We are happy if you like the video! 🥰🙏🏻😘💕 Have wonderful day! 💖

@@goingtoworld I am a doctor in egypt
My albania trip I will visit shkoder and theth and vlore, berat and kroja
Actually it is a pre planned program with a travel agency here
The reason I chose albania also was that surprisingly it is without a visa for Egyptian citizens this summer and me and my family are very busy nowadays and we want a vacation without the headache of preparing a shcengen visa so I found that albania is a good alternative
By the way I really recommend u to come and visit egypt u will never regret I know that egypt unfortunately has a bad reputation lately but the reality that it is very safe especially if u visited sharm el sheikh or hurgada if u are a sea lover you can stay in a 5 star resort which wont be so expensive as compared with other countries or you can visit luxur and aswan "the land of gold " in pharos days and btw the only thing that may bother u is people trying to sell u things but they will never hurt you they may be insisting but they wont ever hurt you they are only trying to sell anything even for Egyptian themselves by the way
Me and my family live in Alexandria which is not a touristic country and more developed than many cities in egypt when we go to luxur or sharm el sheikh for a vacation we are considered as a tourist and people act the same way as they act with foreigners by trying to sell us things but nothing happen bad and sometimes we actually buy from them to help them as some people in my country are facing difficult situations economically
Last tip I want to say to have a trip of a life time in Egypt is that the best way to see it is only one day at the capital which cairo to visit the pyramids and the Egyptian museum and then dont stay in it and go to luxur if you love history and temples aor sharm el sheikh if u love sea
Egypt will be so exotic and special
And as a traveller I love the feeling of exotic trips even if I love Europe and the us more still I choose to go to Thailand or south Africa once every two three years for a change so u can consider Egypt the same
But the difference in Egypt is that it is one of a kind 🙌❤
@@goingtoworld He is from the Middle East. He appears to have taken the decision to visit Albania based on your misrepresentation of the country. The shock he will have once he is here. Many Middle Easterners visit Albania based on Wikipedia religious statistics and somehow develop an immature sympathy, only to visit it and find out that the people are totally irreligious if not anti religion, and get disappointed. They get disappointed because of their ignorance, ignorant media and not really knowing the people and its culture.
You filmed this in the winter but posted it in the summer? After 6 months?
Dear Endri S, we filmed until March 2022 and always try to publish our videos as soon as we can. 🙏🏻❤️🇦🇱
Faleminderit shumë, thank you Alfons Marku for your frank and detailed comment. Please accept our apologies for using the wrong term "oriental". Your historical explanations are an asset, of course your treasure of knowledge is much broader than ours. We love Albania and wish it all the best, we see it as a European country that we hope will soon join the EU. We did not mean to offend you or wonderful Albania. Sorry for that. ♥️🇦🇱♥️

You got one fact wrong: Mother Theresa is born in Skopje (Shkup), but her family doesnt come from Albania. Instead Skopje used to be an Albanian city. The Othomans together with the Serbs turned it to a "North Macedonian" city.
Përshëndetje PrizrenaliZH! 😊 Faleminderit shumë for your explanation and clarification. 🙏🏻😍 Best wishes from us to you! ✨
North Macedon ☝️!!!! ( MAKEDONIA = GRAECE ,KOSOVA = SERBIA 🇬🇷🔹️🇷🇸) ✔
@@hedonliridon1928 how is Kosova Serbia? It always belonged to Albania. We have 4000 years old foundings of essentials of the Illyrians in Prizren right next to the orthodox church, which was there just for 1000 years. Isnt Kosova then Illyrian?

I would like to visit your country of Albania after my cruise from Rome. Kindly recommend a place to stay for 2-nights in Tirana. Thank you very much!
Hi Captain Cliff, great to hear from you. We are traveling as digital nomads and stayed in an airbnb apartment. There are many possibilities in Tirana. We wish you a happy new week! 🚢🍀💞 P.S. If you are interested in Rome and day trips from Rome we have 2 other videos you could check out for inspiration. 🤗
Albania is not a Muslim country..
In your country, more Muslim live than Albania, you know that!?
Faleminderit for commenting Matti Matti! 🙏🏻
Bravo Azen-Very Nice🕋↔⚖🌈🌼🕊💯🌅👒👠☔❤✔🍞
Mira Ali, we are very thankful for your kind comment! 😍🥰😘

I love how the Nordic girls say sentences like they are asking a question.
Hi Kojiro! I thank you most warmly for this sweet feedback. ☺️
I love your English accent
Hi Shkelqim! ☺️ Faleminderit shumë for this sweet compliment. 🥰 Thanks for watching and liking the video! 😇🙏🏻

Madam also you shoud vist tamara in northern Albania it a uniqe place
Thank you Shkelqim for this recommendation! We wanted to go there, but unfortunately we ran out of time. We only saw Shkodra and some neighboring villages - it was great! 😍 We hope to return! 🤗
Slanderbeg won the physical battle but not the spiritual one which belongs to the Lord
Faleminderit TSIRHC SEVAS for your contribution. 🙏🏻🇦🇱
People are ignorant and racist in Albania, but in the mountain and in the village the people are very kind. If you are not blonde and want to use the bus to go to another city, you must show your passport to the driver and his colleague
Absolutely we aren't ignorant nor racist. I don't know what people you have met, but I can assure you that Albania is not racist and ignorant.
Why advertising the mosques with Skenderbegs statue in the intro part of the video.I and many other albanians find it insulting.
Dear Franc, faleminderit for your open words! We did not want to offend you! 😥 We were in Skanderbeg Square and filmed there, you know, the mosque is also there! We also did not plan that the muezzin sings, it could also have sung Dua Lipa! 🇦🇱😎
@@goingtoworld why are we depicted as muslims all the time I dont understand there churches as old as emperor justinian in Albania..anyhow thank you for visiting the country :)
Dear Franc, that was our experience, we may perceive it differently from our visitor perspective, we also show churches and more … In our second video about Albania you can see more of our impressions. We are looking forward to your honest opinion. 😅🤗🇦🇱
@@goingtoworld I understand very well your way of perceiving things but it is better telling some truth rather than showing things as we think they are. This might help your channel making it more authentic and also showing anyone interested in Albania her forgotten history.
1.Speaking of history Skenderbeg,he fought off the turkish invasion and all its influence which put our country backwards for 450 years not to mention its forceful conversion of religion.
2.We are in the middle of a judicial reform(first of its kind in all western Balkans,Turkey, Ukraine,Moldova,Georgia which all are candidates for EU)and its hitting corruption hard. These mosques, remnants of Turko-Erdoganish autocratic eastern influences are not helping, which bring some undesired mentality right now.Christianity was established since 4rth century AD in Albania by choice of populace! What are these mosques taking all attention I don't understand.
3.Regarding religion by law we are a secular state. Most of us might believe in God but they don't follow specific religion.
You can check all these facts if you want for fun :).
Next time if you come in Albania again or if you are still here and
You want to visit historical sights I suggest:
1.Not Tirana is a concrete disaster
2.Berat
3.Shkoder
4.Korce
5.Gjirakaster
6.Vlore
7.Butrint
8.Apollonia
You want to eat something nice:
1.Restaurant Mrizi i Zanave
2.BioFarm Gramsh(rough Road)
3.Alpeta Agrotourism & Winery (Alpeta Agroturizem)
You want to visit some nature:
1.Theth mountain hiking there are organized tours
2.Valbona mountain hiking again
3.Osumi Canyons
4.Syri i Kalter(Blue Water) of Saranda (its a freshwater source paradise in south of Albania) take a deep there its amazing
5.Llixhat e Benjes in Permet thermal waters
You want to have some nice time in the beach:
For this one just follow the Riviera road from Vlora and go to Ksamil it is breathtaking.Carefully and slowly drive with a rented car and stop in each every beach that you find.
Have a good day.
Hi Franc, thank you very much for your detailed comment and your explanations and travel tips.
We also want only the best for Albania. It's a fascinating country with fantastic people who love their country! Your descriptions as an insider are very good. Thank you very much for that. 🙏🏻
We have been to Berat, Vlora, Llogara, Himarë, Saranda, Gjirokastër, Ersekë, Korça, Pogradec, Elbasan and Shkodra and would love to come back to discover more and try your restaurant tips. 😁 You can easily spend months in Albania, there is so much to explore!

Isn't Albania rather secular?
Hi Barbro, thank you for your question. Albania is a secular parliamentary republic. Secularism is regarded very important in Albanian society and a guarantor of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence. We were impressed by Albania's remarkable religious tolerance! 🥰💖
