I'm surprised you didn't mention that Charles Dance was actually skinning that deer, that wasn't a prop. The dude literally soliloquized while skinning an actual (formerly)live animal in a single take. Charles Dance is a true Lannister.

most people talk about Robb and Catelyn's deaths most often but for me, Talisa's death, the fact that out of all the characters to kill first, they chose the pregnant one, the haunting image of a knife repeatedly thrusted upon a womb with a child stuck with me the most after watching it
That was actually unspoiled for me because I convinced myself they wouldn't show a pregnant woman being murdered, on top of the whole Westerling plot from the books (poor Robb really didn't stand a chance). Seeing her not only murdered but stabbed in the belly on screen repeatedly took my breath away lol. I'll never be surprised like that again.
What's more haunting is seeing rob just give up, he isn't angry he doesn't try anything like his mother he just stands there in disbelief. He was a character that oozed hope and willpower and to see him just stand there was heartbreaking. And then the kicker with his wolf's head being sewed on to his dead body was just heartbreaking

That shook me like I was not ready for that, I loved her character with Robb and it all ended within a blink. George just be killing the people that make the biggest impact and I love it. I wish d&d didn't ruin season 7 and 8

They're both bitter and spiteful about their lives together - but they share that one moment of just genuine connection and acknowledgement of how they both hate their marriage - these moments were what made the characters feel so much like real people
The Red Wedding scene is OWNED by Catelyn Stark. Hats off to Michelle Fairley. Brilliant performance.
Her scream at the end and then the silence after her throat is slit really makes for one of the most chilling moments in tv history.
The face she makes when the Rains of Castamere plays, the acting when telling Walder Frey “ENOUGH!” and pleading for Robb, her first born son, King of the North, who just watched his wife, unborn child and entire army be slaughtered within seconds and is extremely injured, to be able to leave in return for her. “Robb, walk out of here! PLEASE!” And the scream as Robb is stabbed. It’s so insanely accurate to how most mothers scream when they see their child die; it’s chilling. Then the throat cut with just a look of completely loss. She knows she’s dead, she already died watching Robb die, and it was just an instinct of violence for revenge and to spill some Frey blood. Fairley’s acting in the show was always top knotch but the last three minutes in that episode….breathtaking

Not just that, but Charles Dance actually paid someone to teach him how to skin a stag just for this scene, he didnt want to half ass it, he wanted to do it properly and spent his own money to learn

To be honest I even felt like ollenas death was perfect for her because she went out on her own terms while still playing Jamie and Cersei, plus “tell Cersei it was me” was perfect
@@joshuarobinson6011 That was more of a plot element and less of a quote though, this was pretty much a pure quote. But I loved Ollena’s death to. It gave Jaime just a slightest bit of redemption before they gutted it entirely.

Yeah I was so annoyed at all the channels that uploaded GoT scenes and seperated the 2 scenes. They could at least keep the transition. I knew they were not real fan channels.

You gotta give hats off to him since Oberyn is my favorite after Tywin. It's definitely an achievement to make such a huge impression in such a brief time. Actually, I think it's fortunate Oberyn and Tywin perished when they did cuz I'm sure D&D would have butchered them. E.g. Jaime used to be up there as a favorite but watching his earlier scenes now just saddens me knowing the shitty ass payoff. Tyrion too became boring (and a dumbass) whereas he used to be one of the greatest most intelligent characters in the show. D&D Tywin probably would have suddenly stated how he "never really cared much for the legacy" while Oberyn "kinda forgot" about his revenge.
For real - his blind anger right before he died, Jesus. Can really feel for him - I mean, I can’t imagine how much rage I’d be filled with if it were myself and my brother. Such a good actor and character overall.
i actually love the moment in the spoils of war where jaime rushes at daenerys because it’s another callback to his conversation with robert in season 1. “he came running at me, the dumb high-born lad, thinking he could end the rebellion with a single swing of his sword.”
I think it also showed how much Jaime hated himself by that point. He charged at her knowing full well he would be dead before reaching her.
Yeah I think Jaime rushing Daenerys in itself was actually good, but Bronn coming out of nowhere to save him and them both surviving was insanely dumb
One of the great moments for me was Sansa speaking back to Joffrey upon seeing her dad's head on a spike. Firstly, there's the audience catharsis of her honesty, there's the distinct possibility that she might kill Joffrey (and herself), then there's the stoicism to take the hit from Meryn Trant, and finally there's the chivalry of Sandor to wipe the blood and offer some sage advice.
That scene was satisfying in the nost twisted way. She knew she’d get hit and talked back anyway.
The only moment Sansa was had potential to be a good character
One of the most heartbreaking moments imo is during Ned's death, when everything is silent and we're waiting for it to happen, Ned looks at the statue of Baelor, and he sees that Arya's not there anymore. Yeah he asked Yoren to get her out of there so she doesn't watch his death, but I think he also wanted to see his daughter one last time before he was gone, and that makes it so much more sad :(
I think he was relieved to see her gone, he wouldn't want her to see him getting beheaded and he trusted Yoren to get her to safety
In that scene, it goes quiet and when he doesn't see Arya you can hear him breathe in some relief. He didn't want both of his daughters to see it.
Quite on the contrary, if I was in Ned's position I would be absolutely relieved to see how she understands she has to accept this and escape. I would be relieved she doesn't has to see me die and has a chance at survival

The Red Wedding is probably the most emotional scene in the show. I think the thing that gets me the most is when Robb says "Mother" in that really slurred way. Richard Madden, Michelle Fairley and Michael McElhatton all killed that scene. I haven't been able to watch it since
For me actually, how cat pulls walders wife (grandson in the books) through her hair....and the anger and the HUGE adrenaline pain and motherly instinct in her voice when she says that robb is his first son.....its so emotional......i truly cried in that scene

Im so glad somebody actually talked about how silly it was that Dany was in dire need of supplies yet she ends up burning loads of the supplies at Highgarden. I've not heard anyone talk about that before.
Yeah, this made me cringe during the scene. Many characters were talking about winter coming, the need to store food. Looting the Tyrells was crucial and then, Dany, who lives on a barren rock, destroys supplies she would desperately need in her conquest... Destroying the army by fire yes, but shooting yourself int foot by destroying food, facepalm.
Don't worry, you're not alone! Culture Vulture Media mentioned it on their S8 mistakes video, it's not only counterproductive to their war efforts but borderline cruel since a few men might starve but most will turn to banditry and r**e/pillage in the local vicinity if left to their own devices, it's an early sign she only cares about revenge. Pretty messed up
Also military doctrine dictates that in civil wars, it should be key figures targeted and the commonfolk be offered clemency and oportunity to join you if you want the country to be stable, as opposed to fighting a foreign nation where defeating their soldiers leads to war fatigue and victory and leaders are better captured for ransom/more favourable terms when the war ends.
As Dany desires to take the country for herself, her attacking Westeros from Essos/Dragonstone doesn't take away from her wanting to take over a nation she would have otherwise been entitled to rule by succession, and so it is classed as a civil war and decimating the armies and towns she would later lay claim to, not to mention expect to own the loyalty of, is guaranteed to lead to a considerably tenuous and even unstable reign

Another heartbreaking thing about Shae’s death scene is that Tyrion strangled her with the Golden chains we saw him trying to give her earlier in the season so she’d have the money to leave King’s Landing. What a tragic irony. Because those chains could have saved her life

My personal favourite scene was the bath scene with Jammie and Brienne. Jammie's delivery was beautifully done. And Brienne just sitting there and listening was haunting.

oberyn's death infuriated me. Not at the writers, not at the mountain. At Oberyn for not killing him when he had the chance. I know he wanted revenge for his sister but he could've gotten revenge without hearing him say what he wanted him to say. Oberyn was one of my favorite characters and he died because he kept talking. I was shaking with rage when the credits were rolling.
That wine fucked him up 😅

For me, "chaos is a ladder" is in the top 5 for sure. That scene was the first time they showed how many things were actually controlled by varys and baelish
I think a really underrated moment is when Theon revealed the burnt bodies at Winterfel and Maester Aemon shouted out in grief. You can see the moment where Theon knew he had passed the point of no return and became the villian.

Some of Tywin's best scenes were his interactions with Olenna. Two superb actors with great dialogue.
Both Robb and Jon's respective scenes of being crowned King in the North were fairly epic. Especially Jon's hits hard when it come right after the canon reveal of him being a Targaryen.
Surprised Shireen Baratheon's death isn't on here. I just finished GOT for the first time and I think that's one of the character deaths that stood out most to me. Stannis' slow downfall because of Melisandre's manipulation is so haunting to watch, and you could tell that he was going to do something unforgiveable eventually. And then when he specifically sends Davos to Castle Black because he wants him out of the way, knowing he'd protect Shireen if he knew about their plan. The tone of those scenes was just so ominous, like the audience knew what was coming and still wasn't prepared to see a father burn his own young daughter at the stake. AND the cherry on top is Selyse, who has never showed any sort of affection to Shireen and has consistently stayed loyal to Mel and the Lord of Light, BEGGING on her KNEES to spare her daughter. Ugh, I get chills just thinking about how brilliant that scene was.
And Davos' reaction to it all a few episodes later is so well done
Because that's a perfect example of D&D absolutely ruining a character, who in the case of Stannis they have some weird personal vendetta against for some reason
If you take the scene in a vacuum it's pretty good. It's downfall, like much of the latter half of GOT is the context (or lack there of). If you take the book context, then it's impossible because Shireen is in castle black when he goes south, but even in the show there is no real, tangible set up for it until literally a couple of episodes before hand. Yes he wants to press his claim to the throne, but it's not for personal pleasure or pride, it's because it's a duty to his house and his older brother and the line of succession. He killed Renly because he broke with this and opposed his older brother thus breaking the line of succession. Shireen is his only child and in his eyes the lone heir to the throne which he by right occupies. Whether he loves her or not (which he is shown to do both in the show and books) is irrelevant to his thought process, which by any metric should lead him to any conclusion but to kill her. In the books he even orders his most trusted guards to stay with her and use the iron banks loan to buy the golden company and press her claim if he dies at Winterfell. Yes in the latter part of the show he does become more devoted to R'hllor because he has observed Melisandre at work but he used it to his military and political advantage. He killed Renly to claim the Stormlands because he had his heir and Renly was in his way. He went to kill Gendry because he wanted to be rid of the other claimants and Gendry was nothing more than another of Roberts bastards and he went to the wall because he needed to prove his commitment to good of the realm as well as gaining the support of the shattered northerners by defeating the Bolton's and Greyjoy's who were usurpers and raiders, while securing a base of operations, supplies and manpower that didn't exist on Dragonstone. Although killing Shireen may have theoretically allowed the weather to improve (at least in Stannis' mind) allowing him to reach Winterfell, it basically ends the Baratheon bloodline and by extension any future for the house and dynasty (considering the absence of any other legitimate Baratheon's) thus defeating the entire purpose of his cause. And it's even less logical when you understand he and Selyse had multiple miscarriages before Shireen.
So basically the entire character of Stannis revolves around the principle that the throne is legally his right because Robert was king before him and Joffrey and the rest aren't legitimate. So by extension if the throne is his as Roberts legitimate heir then why would he ever feel that killing HIS only legitimate heir would be acceptable. It goes against any and all of his convictions as a character. It's like taking a wheel off your car in order to use it as a steering wheel, it's entirely self defeating. It can't even be argued that this is down to stress related delusion considering he held storm's end for a year to the point of eating shoe leather before even considering surrendering, as well as pressing the attack at blackwater despite the wildfire (essentially the closest thing to a nuke outside of dragons in GOT). If other characters could survive beyond the wall or though the horrendous scourging of the Riverlands then Stannis could easily refrain from burning his daughter alive while marching to Winterfell.
@@kingstannisbaratheon7974 Damn, this was so insightful to read. I haven't gotten around to reading the books yet, so my perspective on that scene might change after I do read them. While watching the show, I liked that scene a lot but I never analyzed Stannis' character that deeply (maybe because I was more entertained by other characters idk). Everything you said makes total sense, and I'll definitely need to look deeper into his motivations as a whole either while reading the books or on a rewatch of the show. It's awesome that you know so much about his character!
@@joannamcconnell8057 Thanks for the compliment. He's my favourite character (surprise, surprise) so I've spent probably too much time analysing his motives. If it wasn't for that I expect I'd have enjoyed the scene, the acting and scene set up was great, much like the rest of the series, so I can easily understand why you like it. I'm also glad you took the comment in good faith, which is how I intended it.
Also it's well worth reading the books but they are very long, it took me like a year to read them because I'm quite a casual reader.
This is the ONLY scene I refuse to rewatch. (Not including most of season 8 because that’s not even canon to me😂)

I very much enjoyed the fight scene between Brienne and The Hound. You really don't know who to root for, or how the story will progress when one of them dies.
Both had the right idea protecting arya. But the hound got destroyed 😂

I think the best scene from the red wedding is usually overlooked and that is the look on Roose Boltons face when he allows Lady Caitlyn to lift up his sleeve so she can see he was wearing chain mail armor. that look of his was so epic, he had the look of someone who just took a shit in your cornflakes and doesn't feel bad one bit

Tywin sending Joffrey to bed is a great scene. Solidifies Tywin's true power at King's landing. The whole scene is just acted/filmed so film perfect.
I think another great aspect of Tywin being introduced skinning a deer, a stag specifically, shows exactly how “hands on” Tywin is. He isn’t detached from conflict like his father, or like Robert Baratheon, he directly drives a lot of it and that shows a certain decisiveness that others do not have and is a trait he wants Jamie to embody by being “the man he needs now.”
Robert? Is is the embodiement of getting hands dirty. He literally won a rebellion and fought in vanguard to crush another while being king because he wanted to fight.
@@Ntnt11 You're talking about Robert the rebellion leader, I am talking about Robert the king. They may be the same character but they are VERY DIFFERENT people all around. There are other ways to get one's hands dirty, Robert is totally detached politically while Tywin can't keep his hands off politics for the sake of his family image.
Also symbolic that he was skinning a dead stag, a stag is the Baratheon symbol, and may have been alluding to the death of Robert.
Perhaps the skinning scene could also be a nod to house Bolton, the flayers, and what would soon be a red wedding.
Bran's power was so excruciatingly underused. After the reveal of Hodor, I saw a fan theory that Bran was the one that drove the Mad King insane by trying to warg into his mind to make him bring the wildfire North to use against the White Watchers (think that was the period with the greatest amount of wildfire?). And I saw another theory in which Bran sort of became the Night King himself because he accidentally warged into the man when the Children were creating him. So many awesome theories just completely wasted!!!!
Bran wasn't born until the Mad King was dead right?
An underrated moment is when we learn who Jon actually is. The scene still gives me chills when I watch it now... if only it meant anything.

It would have been more if Dumb and Dumber weren't so obsessed with making the Starks more important and the all time winners. They also didn't want Jon or Daenerys to be the one to kill the Night King just because they believed it too cliche, even though it was literally a huge part of Jon's story.

Honestly for me the best scene was between Oberon and Tyreon. The retelling if his birth and everyone's reaction. It makes it seem as if he was making Tyreon out to be a monster like Cersei and everyone thinks he is to Oberon's reveal to him being a normal baby. Very emotional
Something to mention about the Purple Wedding is the attention to detail. You can actually see Olena get the poison off of Sansa's necklace, which is then missing a stone.
Which lets me know they PURPOSELY made this series imperative for you to watch twice because you’re not gonna catch it + tie in what it means.

I liked this moment, first time Sansa stood up for herself in very impressive way. It also set her resolve, that she was going to to survive, despite being in the lion's den.
Sansa's useless ass doesn't deserve to be on any list. Unless it's a list of people who accomplished nothing on their own and constantly needed to be rescued, where she'd rank #1.
I think my favourite moment might be Catelyn and Robb's reaction to Ned's death. The music and the acting, it's such a tender scene. Made me like Catelyn a lot more too.
Hell yeah, I love that scene. I also love some scenes with Renly as he was a really good candidate for a king. There's so many great scenes in this show that it gets really hard picking one.

I disagree on the Arya killing the Freys point. Killing Walder is infinitely more important than killing his children. So watching him die while she delivered that cold line was much much needed! The second scene was fantastic, cause we all thought it was a flashback, it wasn’t lazy it was done brilliantly unlike the rest of the season.

I watched the end of S6 and beginning of S7 in one day. So I didn’t even think of a flashback because the scenes happen back to back for me.
Tbh killing Frey barely did anything for the show except for some satisfaction that fans wanted and to show arya in badassery light. It has no consequence nor does it have any mention of that after that. it barely affected the story at all like people just forget Frey existed. Even some meaningless scene from earlier season has more importance than that scene.
I'm surprised the Jon and Sansa reunion didn't make the list. One of the most wholesome moments on the show, and one of the first happy Stark moments since season 1. I couldn't stop smiling and tearing up during that scene.
Id say jon and arya was more heart warming since they were closer.

I literally stood outside in the rain for 20 minutes after watching it even thought it was January and 12pm lol and I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I was too shocked to cope.
The best scene has got to be Jamie telling Brienne about killing the Mad King. Nikolaj was perfect in that scene, especially with how bitter he sounds. And Gwendolyn did her part very well. They could have ruined it by having her interject too much, but the way it plays out, you can really tell that she’s really conflicted about what she’s hearing.

I agree. Good scene, but actually makes you think about real life. From our own perspective, something can appear evil. But from that evil’s perspective, that same subject can appear heroic or needed. So it makes you reflect on the idea of good versus bad. Somebody could kill a rapist. But that rapists mother could say that killing was evil. So many different examples, but it really puts things into perspective

Really good list. The Red Wedding and Cersei blowing up the sept are hands down my favorite scenes. I would have included Sansa feeding Ramsay to his dogs and Littlefinger pushing Lysa out the moon door.
One of my absolute favourite moments is when Arya's returning to King's Landing and stops to share a fire with those soldier lads who bust up laughing when she says she's going to kill thr queen. It's such a low key, humble moment but i love it for that, it's so truly human in the midst of seasons of unrelenting mayhem and chaos. Arya lets her guard down for a moment and see her as the teenage girl we only ever briefly got to see in S1. Was nice to see her laugh again.

Shoutout to the scene where Sam met the army of the dead, the horns slowly letting the audience know it’s the white walkers, the anticipation of meeting the night king in full and the realisation that they really are coming for Westeros
“chaos is a ladder” to me is number 1, indisputably….absolute masterpiece. and the editing with music while the speech goes…oh, i’d show it to students in the screen writing class as an example of perfection.
It's kind of funny that my overall favourite scene of the show isn't even mentioned.
It's the epic dialogue between Brienne, Arya and the Hound (plus some words from Podrick) that leads into the Hound vs Brienne fight. And the conversation between the Hound and Tormund, when the Hound says "We've met" as the response about knowing Brienne is just the cherry on top of the plot and it's so hilarious.
oh i love brienne vs the hound, from the dialogue at the beginning until the end when arya takes his money and leaves him to die, absolutely brilliant. i also like the relatively short scene early in brienne and jaime's journey where she kills the three stark bannermen in quick succession after they find out who jaime is. wouldn't put it on my list of top scenes, but i rewatch it for satisfaction from time to time.

This may be my topic for the next one, however it's really hard to rank characters that had a perfect run through seasons 1-4 like Tywin and comparing them to say Tyrion who had a great first 4 seasons, but become intolerable later on.

I got Robbs death spoiled for me, but I wasn't told how it happened, so the red wedding was still a complete left turn
Also, seeing Greywinds head on Robb's body made me feel very angry. Not only did they kill him at a wedding, stabbed his wife and future child, killed his mother, and imprisoned his uncle, but they also defiled his body and killed his wife right in front of him. This show has made me the angriest than any other show I've watched
There is nothing weird at all about including that Robert and Cersei conversation. Unquestionably some of the best dialogue and acting in the entire show. One thing I really missed in the later seasons was this more complex and emotional version of Cersei, which later disappears completely when she becomes basically a one-note villain who over-pronounces most of her consonants
It’s so weird, when you consider that this scene and other great scenes were completely original, written by D&D. The writers were so damn good in the earlier seasons, even when not working with GRRM’s source material. That makes me even more baffled and mad about the change in last seasons.

The logic behind that move, is so questionable.... ending GoT perfectly, with patience and finesse secures a fanbase for anything that comes after, yet, what they did, i cant even think of the amount of people that were so irritated by it, that they swore off any future material losing D&D an enormous sector of the fanbase and already sets a standard of quality no matter whether the show is top notch. We didnt know where the bottom of the barrel was for D&D, we were blissfully ignorant, until they showed us, now the height of their writing has been tarnished.

Oberyn v the Mountain is still my favourite. Oberyn shows himself to be one of the best fighters, agile enough to avoid anything the mountain can throw at him, while slowly whittling him down. If he hadnt gotten too cocky and gotten to close to the Mountain, Oberyn would have won easily. I loved the fight, loved the twist.
After the Red Wedding when they were parading around Robb’s body with the wolf head sown on. Bruh… I got a little emotional.

I remember almost a decade ago... how traumatized i was after Ned Stark's death. He was and will always be my favourite character.
I am simultaneously incredibly happy that we got some of the best writing / unique shows and characters for 5.5 seasons (give or take, especially Arya once she reaches Vala Morgulis) and sad that production, impatience, hubris, and greed robbed us of a true masterpiece thru and thru
also one of my favorites is any of the scenes in which arya is cupbearer for tywin. its a really cool use of whatever thats called where the reader knows something one of the characters does not. its honestly tywin's only warm side we see, largely speaking. you get the impression he could be a cool guy, as long as you meet or exceed his expectations. which is awesomely within his characters framework. and arya trying to find any way to kill him just really amps up the tension. it doesnt feel cheap or contrived even tho it really has the potential for just that.

It could have gone down in television history as a freaking masterpiece and set an example for other tv shows to come.
Overall it was wonderful and will go down in history for sure. The last season was trash for sure its kinda like a cat turd in the middle of an awesome pizza.

I think GoT is one of those shows which will be even more highly regarded in the future. Right now people are still in shock, and disappointed about the ending, but I think newer generations will have a completely different perspective on it when they watch it for the first time in the future. I remember after it happened i was as many of you speechless. You really had no idea where show would go on, as from the very beginning, the Starks are shown as good guys, protagonists..
Not only do they lose the main character Ned, who brought most of audience in the first place after legendary role of Boromir, but they basically after the Red Wedding almost wipe out the Starks as a house.. Being left only with a cripple, Rickon, 2 little girls & a bastard on the wall, who already declined joining Rob in a war.
Actual masterpiece.. Best piece of content i've ever witnessed.

Another one from around then that I love and goes a bit under the radar is Ned sentencing Gregor to death and demand Tywin Lannister come to King's Landing. Such a brilliant escalation of conflict. Actually season 1 does this conflict escalation perfectly throughout and doesn't get enough credit for it.
Episode 1: Bran pushed out window
Episode 2: Joffre attacked by Nymeria, Ned kills Lady
Episode 3: Petyr implicates Tyrion in the attack on Bran.
Episode 4: Catelyn seizes Tyrion
Episode 5: Because of this, Jaime attacks Ned in the city and leaves him wounded and his men dead
Episode 6: Ned raises the stakes by going after Tywin and the Mountain, and discovers that Joffre is a bastard
Then finally in episode 7 all hell breaks loose with Robert's death and the showdown between Ned and Cersei/Joffre.
The writing of season 1 is pretty much flawless in my opinion, and while it doesn't necessarily have moments that top those from seasons 3 and 4, it is so consistently great I could watch it any time.

The scene where Ned fully acts as hand is brilliant, because we get to see his character in action for really the first time, acting as he’s been hyped up to be by everybody. I also think I great scene is when Olenna and Varys are talking about Sansa. Varys states that he admires Ned, and Olenna replies with “How many came forward when he was executed.” Also another good one is when Jaime tells Ned that “500 men stood there and watched.” The whole exchange between Ned and Jaime in this scene shows the deep contrast in the show and really in the world between being honorable and accepting grim reality.

When I first watched Tyrion’s trial: the verbal jousting between Tyrion and his father, Shae’s betrayal, I felt this was one of the most powerful scenes, possibly, in TV history, downright Shakespearean.

Both of Tirion’s trials are outstanding. But the one in s4 has some of the best dialogue in all of GOT.
Yeah he's a total idiot for the Kingslayer's sword hand being chopped off not even in the Top 25. That one incident had a major effect on the story arc of Jaime, Cersei, Tywin, Tyrion, Brienne, Qyburn, Bronn, and Captain Euron Sparrow, among others. That moment should be at least Top 10 on anyone's list.
Yorens death in season 2 is up there for me, he was such a likeable and realistic character and he went out like a badass.
And he does it literally for what? He’s a man of the Night’s Watch who recruits. He knows the boys he’s taken probably aren’t running to the wall without him escorting them.
He does it to be the shield he swore to be. He does it because Ned trusted him to protect his daughter, and Ned’s brother’s “blood runs black, which makes him my brother too.” He does it to protect one bastard boy- the bastard boy who Stannis will ask what is saving the realm at the cost of sacrificing one bastard boy and Davos responds “everything”
And frankly, I think he did it because he just didn’t like the Lannister/Gold Cloaks acting like they could order him around. Maybe the prick looked like Willis.

He betrayed ned, he helped joffrey orchestrate the assassination of bran and blamed it on tyrion and he organised the tyrell lannister alliance in exchange for harrenhal and he assassinated Joffrey. The reason you didn't see him do anything for power, was because he was so good at hiding it from other characters.

Good point. Littlefinger was behind the scenes pulling the strings and making all kinds of things happen but we'd never seen him actually get HIS hands dirty. HE murdered Lysa rather than orchestrating it which was very different from the way he usually operated.

I like how people are still making videos and discussing GOT long after it was finished. I hope george RR martin finishes his books sooner than later so I can read them and hopefully enjoy the ending compared to the shitstorm that was season 8. When George left the show, and when D&D ran out of books, the drop in quality was apparent. Because of this I’ve decided to just read the books and get the true ending when it releases.
That's what I'm hoping for too. I just hope he doesn't "check out" before he finishes it 😬. More than ever, the fans need to know really happens. The ending was rushed and just didn't add up. Too much that was made to be important throughout the show or during the lead up to the season was glanced over, ignored or completely omitted. Hopefully GRRM will be able to flesh everything out and give a better explanation/outcome for all of the plot holes the show created.

@@capedcrusader16 He didn't, it's just that the source material he created (the books) only go up to a certain point because he's not done writing the series. Once they reached that point in the show the show runners/writers had to "take liberties" with the story and finish it out. It may end the same way (I hope not) or it may be different. Until GRRM releases the final book(s) we won't know.

The Dothraki making it to Westeros is probably my favorite scene in the series. It was such a good callback with the pacing allowing us to feel a sense of dread as you hear the “screamers” Robert talked about before the Lannisters can see them. It really felt like the whole series was leading up to that moment and it was majestic.
Don’t forget that Tywin skinning a stag is symbolic of the fall of house Baratheon or more specifically Robert Baratheon

Jon Snow’s resurrection wasn’t without purpose.
Despite not killing the Night King himself, he did gather the necessary resources and forge the necessary alliances to achieve that.
but if he hadn't met daenerys, the night king won't get her dragon therefore won't cross the wall, unless he can freeze water
