In Erstfeld wurde dann rangiert;
That little guy at the end is really working his ass off. he is the real power behind them all.
Love the vintage locos.
Full of character
I remember very well the green one and the first one from my childhood when I was in Switzerland around 60 years ago

The little engine at the rear must be dizzy . It's side rods were whirring !
Excellent video, very nice. Congratulations. Greetings from Spain. Saludos cordiales desde España.
Beautiful old lelectric ocomotives! I like it.
Greetings from Hungary. :-)
Love the whistles on the classic electric motor units!
The old electric loco whistle takes me back to my childhood (early 70s) in India. Such loco designs existed in India then. Thanks for uploading the video.
Vielen dank fuhr diese video.
Very interesting. Thank you for posting
So beautiful ❤️
Nice video!
Super film widoki i historyczne lokomotywy
Great video! I felt bad for the little shunted trying to keep up. What are the pipes on the sides of the locos for?
The pipes on the side of the locomotive served to cool the transformer oil ... In 1920, this was a very efficient solution for using the airstream.
Thanks!!
haha I had the same thought the poor little one 😅

Thanks for this question and amswer too.
I saw that pipes on the side, and I didn't know what is that.
Those locos where in a class of one except the Ae4/7. When working together as shown did each loco have a crew or have they been modified to work as a multiple unit, (one driver for the set)? I think they forgot about the TM2/2 at the back I don't thing the go that fast. I would check the connecting rod bearings before using it again.
My book says TM2/2 max speed 65kmh!!
Well I'm in America Indiana to be exact home of the indy 500 🤗 love those electric trains
Horn is incredible
How do they have such high pitched whistles. Is it air-pressured or is there some kind of mechanism that powers it?
Yes, the locomotive whistles are operated with compressed air.
If anyone knows the name of this place 2:50 a reply would be most appreciated. Thank you!

A word from a train videographer’s perspective... When possible, you should be pointing the camera upstream, not downstream. It’s much easier, for the viewer, to watch a train coming at you than it is to watch a train going away from you.
What are the heat exchangers for on the side walls of the loco??
he pipes on the side of the locomotive served to cool the transformer oil ... In 1920, this was a very efficient solution for using the airstream.
Interesting, thank you for the information.
Super.... Slovakia
When my country has?
looks like the PRR DD-1
3:57 : 3 locos to pull one car..It must be very heavy :)
They're taking Rosie O'Donnell to lunch.
what is the vintage of all of these side rod electrics?
The two brown locomotives with rod drive (Ce 6/8 I and Be 4/6) were built in 1919 and 1920. The green locomotive (Ae 4/7) was built in 1931.
@@Ae-sh6bc thanks. What voltage an what cycles is the power? What are the horsepower ratings? Are these used strictly for tourist rail travel?
@@Ae-sh6bc do the two brown units have two traction motors per wheel set with the two traction motors running a spur gear and then the crank eccentric? Or in other words, 4 traction motors per locomotive
@@3RTracing The SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) use single-phase alternating current of 15 kV voltage and a frequency of 16.7 Hz.
The Be 4/6 (1920) has an output of 2040 hp.
The Ce 6/8 I (1919) would have an output of 2370 hp, but unfortunately it can only be rolled and cannot be used on its own.
The Ae 4/7 (1932) has an output of 3120 hp.
All three locomotives belong to the SBB Historic Foundation and will be used for special trips if possible
@@3RTracingIt is exactly like that;)

Our well-loved and esteemed King of Austria wonders how do steam locomotives work without steam? Do these brown locomotives have a closed steam recirculation system with electrical heating?
Where do you see a steam locomotive in this video?
@@fabianschelbert5980 The machines with the coupling rods! Steam locomotives have a power source (cylinder) and transmit power to the driving wheels by means of coupling rods.
@@resitupfer7950 These are electric locomotives. With the first electric locomotives, the power was also transmitted via connecting rods, since this type of power transmission has proven itself in steam locomotives.
@@fabianschelbert5980 thank you! Merry christmas to you!
I like train , locomotive
Good
That little shunter is going so fast it’s pushrods look like they are gonna break off
yeah, kinda lame, dangerous, and really bad for that locomotive to be towed at such a high speed. Careless, reckless and not smart at all
@@3RTracing it doesn't hurt the loco it can be towed at that speed. However it can not operate at that speed.
480p in 2017
🙁
These locos were used by the Indian railways in the 1940s and 50s era. Now they are on display in railway museums.
Just wonder why have they converted the steam locomotives to electric locomotives.
Electrics were models of their own, no conversions. There has been two steamers with electric heaters though, hybrids in a way, see de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elektrische_Dampflokomotive.
This loco kept in new dilhi rail musiciam
Isn't that made in UK?
Cool vids but damn those freakin girly whistles!!! That's a noise fat girls make when they run...😂
