2019-10-19 I 100 anni di un'icona svizzera: il Coccodrillo del Gottardo

  • Per celebrare degnamente i cento anni del Coccodrillo, sabato 19 ottobre 2019 SBB Historic ha organizzato un evento straordinario lungo le rampe del Gottardo, effettuando una tripla trazione da Erstfeld a Bellinzona (andata e ritorno).
    Protagoniste indiscusse le locomotive Ce 6/8'' 14253 del 1919 in livrea marrone, la Be 6/8''' 13302 del 1926 e la Ce 6/8''' 14305 del 1925, quest'ultime in livrea verde scuro.
    Al seguito, un convoglio di ben otto carrozze storiche nella classica livrea verde SBB, costruite tra il 1951 e il 1973, a cui si aggiungono due vetture ristorante in livrea rossa.
    Nel filmato si assiste alla partenza del convoglio dalla stazione di Erstfeld, a cui segue il transito in linea subito dopo Gurtnellen e l'arrivo a Göschenen, ultimo scalo nel canton Uri prima della galleria storica del Gottardo.
    Le riprese poi si spostano nel canton Ticino, con i passaggi a Dazio Grande e alla Biaschina, per poi giungere alla stazione di Bodio, dove il treno viene preso in consegna dalla Re 420 192 SBB.
    Quest'ultima locomotiva accompagnerà il treno fino a Bellinzona, a causa dei nuovi sistemi di sicurezza attivati dopo l'apertura della galleria di base del Gottardo, di cui i Coccodrilli sono sprovvisti.
    Si continua con il viaggio di rientro verso Erstfeld, prima con il transito in velocità a Cresciano a cui segue la partenza dalla stazione di Bodio, dopo aver sganciato la Re 420 192 SBB.
    I Coccodrilli continuano il loro viaggio con le riprese dei transiti alla Biaschina, a Lavorgo, a Piottino e a Dazio Grande, per concludersi poi con il passaggio a Intschi, tra Gurtnellen e Amsteg.

    Che meravigliosa avventura! L'ANTICO, se non ha valore artistico, può essere superato senza rimorsi; se invece ha in sé una forza michelangiolesca, va assolutamente preservato. Brava, Svizzera!

    Bellissimo video. Vi aspettavo al varco, mi sembrava strano che non foste andati ad un evento del genere..e infatti, non avete deluso le attese. Filmato stratosferico. Che tristezza però Erstfeld cosi vuota...era sempre piena di intermodali in sosta , ora tutti via Tunnel di base...

    Ammiro gli svizzeri, che sono riusciti ad infrastrutturare egregiamente un territorio ostile, fatto di alte vette e profonde valli. Sono un esempio veramente brillante di cosa possa essere L'Ingegneria dei Trasporti.

    Nice to know SBB/FFS/CFF have preserved at least three (?) of these classic Electric locos. Possibly it was one of these three locos I and two other British Railways Drivers drove back in the 1980's, when on a visit to Switzerland, along with one of the little RhB Crocodiles, which my then girlfriend (a BR Conductor Guard) also drove !!!

    These locos were used by the Indian railways as well and were in operation under DC electric traction till mid 90s. In their final years there operation was restricted for shunting of trains. They were nicked name as KEKDAA (means Crab) but the drivers who drove them. As a kid I found these locos very frightening due to their appearance and shear size. They often haunted me in my dreams.

    Che bella combinazione dei Disegni Westinghouse Italiana per le E.500 -E550, a Trifase; con la Cabina Centrale, e loco a doppio senso, senza necessita' di girare a fine corso.
    Sarebbero le piu' potential Ellectromotrici del anteguerra? Magari le loco costruite da Ansaldo per l'URSS nei anni 30 sono vicine .

    The Re 420 would be for the 'new' radio signal system. I assume that in their day there would never have been such a combination of 3 Croc's? The load on the first coach coupling would be 'LARGE'. Well done.

    Teveel bewegende delen aan de wielen waarvan de lagering kan stukgaan. Door de ballast in de wielen ook nog eens belemmerd in snelheid. 8 Wielen wellicht nodig voor tractie in de bergen. Antiek om 1 per jaar te gebruiken.

    This looks like a mutant locomotive: runs on electricity but sounds like a steam engine and the pistons and wheels move like a steam engine too!

    Per fare il difficile: le "Coccodrille" sono sempre state locomotive tipicamente per trenimerci. Quindi con convogli con carrozze unitarie I e II e Ls mi sembrano fuori posto!...
