Thanks for reviewing this kind of thing. I'm looking for racing wheels for my OG Xbox / PSX / PS2 setup, I like the Madcatz MCX 2.
My dad bought me the Yellow Version ~20 years ago and I found it well preserved in a closet, I didn't expect it to have any driver support anymore, and yeah the latest drivers are quite ancient and were quite buggy, the brake pedal was always maxed out on plug and play, although after messing around I found that with x360ce, you can virtualize it and map it into xbox 360 controller, and I was insanely surprised at how good this thing still is. Very responsive, the pedals too, the only thing I kinda always disliked about it are the buttons, they are kinda hard to reach with your hands positioned for the butterfly gears, but if you play just Wheel -> Gears -> Pedals, it's actually a very good $15 option.

i bought one second handed but without the power supply do you think thats an big issue?
That racing wheel didn't seem bad but it looked like with that steering wheel it is easy to oversteer in racing games. It would be great if that games would have a steering wheel learning so it could learn how far the wheel goes from side to side so it makes it easier for you not to oversteer in the racing games.
What is the best racing wheel and game? I think the switch could use a racing wheel.
Had one of these bad boys as a kid, somehow my parents ended up with a couple, story I need to find for another day. It wasn't exactly fancy but it was all a kid needed to play Need for Speed 3, Midtown Madness.
Word of warning. The pedals worked fine but the plastic was brittle so you really couldn't put any weight on the top half. Remember the 2 sets of wheels? One wheel lasted, 2 sets of pedals with snapped pedals.

Man I had this one and the yellow one that's on a spring without any ffb. Currently waiting on a simagic alpha mini, p1000 and gt pro wheeel. Watching this gives me such flashbacks to my childhood using this wheel feeling like I was really driving a car. I can imagine today it feels awful :D
I have one laying around and still i use it sometimes fo multiplayer home matches (most of all when there ‘s more than one friend at home and the g29 and g27 are already taken by someone else). IT HAS THE SEQUENTIAL SHIFTER beghine the wheel. And it is still a great wheel (i paid 12 euros for it some years ago)

Force feedback with this one is a bit disappointing indeed in Project Cars but in F1 2017 (and probably the other F1 games) it's much much better.
Used to have this and the FFB is excellent

I have a yellow one a friend gave me just like this one but I tried it on snowrunner and all I can get is the wheel to turn but no gas or breaks

This is the first wheel I ever had, for $50
I literally randomly saw this in a garage sell and got it for 5 bucks, didn't had PSU so I bought one for 5 more bucks, so 10 total. Has been fun but just bought a G920 and I don't think there is a way to really compare them apart from one costing me 20x the other one.

Wicked, or anyone in the know, can you recommend a decent wheel that does not come covered in leather? I keep seeing ones I like and then reading it's covered in leather and I really don't want that! Doesn't have to be Earth shatteringly good, something like this here but newer. Much appreciated and keep up the good work mate!

Highly doubt it, PS2 for sure, PS3 maybe but PS4 or PS5 very unlikely. Unless you use an adapter.
