2:31 That has to be one of the most amazing sounding bells I have ever heard on an elevator!!! If they end up modding these elevators... they better tastefully mod it because I love seeing new tech being integrated into old stuff!!!
Was very glad to make the 1 hour 45 minute drive from nearby Toronto, Canada to check this building out! Not to mention that it was also my very first time in the United States!
@@DieselDucy Yeah, so many places were shut during COVID. However it’s good to know many places are open again, maybe with the exception of some hospitals and schools
@@DieselDucy I want saw an elevator at Dupont Children’s Hospital in Delaware that must’ve been at least from the 40s. It had the N used light above the up button and there was a small window in the door where you could see the elevator arriving. The inner door open by itself but you had to open the outer door by hand. Once you’ve got an enclosed the outer door, he would press web for he wanted to go to and the inner door would automatically close. I have a video of it somewhere, but not sure if I’ll post it as it’s from like 2015 or something.
Also, there are 2 sets of rare Otis Escal-Aire escalators at the Macy’s in Great Northern Mall. The elevator in there was Montgomery with square fixtures and in 2005 it received a slap on mod; most of that elevator is still original except for the fixtures. That building was built in 1965, a decade before that mall opened. When it opened, they connected it to that store; it was originally called May Company Cleveland.

Amazing and Epic! I must ride those! Rand Building, DO NOT MODERNIZE THOSE AMAZING AND EPIC ELEVATORS I REPEAT DO NOT MODERNIZE THOSE AMAZING AND EPIC ELEVATORS OKAY. I want a chance to ride those and I also wanna bring my best friend to ride those with me
Most of the time they are modded because they are in poor condition and unreliable because of that. These are maintained we'll and it is very easy to notice.
According to the building engineer and security guard I talked to, they plan on keeping these original and I was told that these are actually pretty reliable.
I love seeing these so much. There were a lot of these around when I was a kid and I took them for granted.
I miss them too

It was amazing!
When the web site Buffalo Rising featured this, they showed off the floor 26 "Loo With a View" as well
Yes, I've gone to I-90 in Buffalo NY. but, I like how the elevator serves 13 floors and the others serves further than 13.
This was amazing!

Absolutely love these elevators. That view is also one of a kind too.
They were EPIC.
So glad you got to see them :)
Yeah finally. I found these during COVID but they would not let me in back then.
@@DieselDucy Yeah, so many places were shut during COVID. However it’s good to know many places are open again, maybe with the exception of some hospitals and schools
Immaculate elevators! Otis Autotronics are so amazing, especially when they are maintained so well. Sad that barely any are left anymore.
Yep. When elevators are maintained well they last for a very long time, while running well to this day.
I know. These are amazing.

@@DieselDucy do they plan on modernizing those? I really hope they won't forever
No plans to at all.
@@mariokart8715 yes! Let's go!
Very nice. I liked those old style Otis hall lanterns similar to the ones that were in a number of buildings in Cleveland.
Very cool

The wall mounted cast iron sink is original but the toilet is replaced. Exposed plumbing. Still nice bathroom.

Thank you! Cheers!
Are these going to be modernized?
I hope not.
I love these
They are epic.
hmm…why is there an express zone dash on the floor indicator between floors 17 and 18 in the first elevator?
I find it strange.
@@DieselDucy definitely a little odd, especially considering the other elevator (after the restroom) didn’t have it
There is a secret service floor in between 17 and 18.
It’s a nice elevator
I love it.
Those are very nice elevators and are much better than the junk they make today.
They are EPIC>
Great seeing them they are extremely vinage.
These are awesome!
The first elevator you rode in the video serves a "Secret" floor in between 17 and 18
Floor 17,5
How is it accessed? I did not see the button for it.
@@DieselDucy There's a button inside the service cabinet that someone with a key to the cabinet needs to press
Nice thumbnail
Thanks :)
What is the tallest existing Otis Touch Sensitive?
im not sure!
That's a very good question dude
i have never ridden an autotronic elevator.

yes they were!
Will these ever get modernized I hope they not 🤞

Are round touch sensitive fixtures that look like Lexan sensitive to heat also?
