Many people have asked me why the falling elevator caused all that damage. I think it's time to reply :)
While I was filming those last scenes, I thought that the elevator will just fall to the bottom of the elevator shaft and not cause any harm.
Then I thought that would be too boring. So the answer is action. The end needed something.
I decided to blow up the damn thing when it hit the ground-floor.

Thats the first thing I thought also. Thank the inventors for thinking of this before elevators were mass produced. The cable, the hatch and not using legos to make elevators.
Actually, elevators have extensive safety features. The usually have 4 cables and the chance of them breaking is super slim. And even if they all broke the elevator would not plummet. It has brakes on the elevator. And If all else fails there is a buffer on the bottom. Yes, you will get seriously injured but you won't die. They are the safest motive for transportation. And NEVER go through the hatch. EVER. The elevator will stop working if you open the hatch. And it's safer to be in the car rather than on top. It is super dangerous up there. Most deaths and injuries occur to technicians on top of the elevator. It's so dangerous they give you complete control of the elevator up there. But it is still a good lego animation cheers mate.

I like how these videos start out as just normal everyday things, and then become destructive disasters, some of which can be caused by the simplest of things.

So glad I don't work in a tall office building. Elevators terrify me. Animation aside love that this is entirely dependent on sound design to tell the story without any unnecessary dialogue. Top notch work as always.

Fun fact: Elevator moved down to floor 4 then the man was stucked in the floor 4 elevator so he opened the top of the elevator then the elevator moved down to floor 3 he went near the door then the elevator collapsed to floor lobby then everyone died while the elevator hits the people and then the man sees the elevator on fire then he opens the floor 3 elevator door then he walked down the stairs to see what happened to the elevator crash at floor lobby

The music ambiance for when the guy gets stuck in the elevator is scary, but perfect.
Wow, that was pretty cool. One thing I think you could improve upon: the walk cycle for all the lego people looked really awkward. Instead of one foot forward, other foot catches up, move the second foot past the first foot. That would probably make it look much better.

Irl, the lift actually has brakes that activate in an emergency. They also have a "call" button that basically tells people "hey, the lift is stuck." They won't fall down.
