    I hope your son appreciates the time you guys spend together. I did not have a dad growing up so I never learned many " guy" things until much later. I would have loved to have a pops do stuff with me. My grandfather did what he could but he was a coal miner and had black lung. So, thanks for making this video, dad, and thanks to your son as well. Yall are good folk.

      Thank you for commenting, I understand what you're talking about as I also didn't have a dad growing up. My grandpa and uncles spent lots of time with me teaching me mechanics. My son's time in the garage was short lived, soon as he turned 16, he found a job. So between school & work he no longer had much free time.
      We do enjoy spending time together hunting though.

    Before tearing the carb out, try some cleaner in the gas. I used Supertech (Walmart) injector cleaner and it worked very fast. Don't use too much!

    I worked with my dad on a few projects when I was a kid. Didn’t think much of it then but now they are the memories I
    treasure. He will too. Great tutorial.

    You showed a lot of patience. A lot of seniors would have given up and missed a great opportunity.

      He doesn't join me often, but when he does I cherish it just as I do when older brother spends time with me also.
      Thanks for the kind words.

    This helped a lot! Got my old Honda roaring back into life after a couple seasons of temperamental starts and frequent stalling. 👍

    I have a Honda push mower. It runs fine if my filter side is on the up side of the hill, but when I have it toward the down slope it shuts off.

    That boy is lucky, getting a very valuable education which will serve him for life.
    Unfortunately my emulsion tube seems to be stuck for life. Even after copious spraying with carb cleaner and a soak in sonic bath, it will not budge even after trying to lever it down with two small screwdrivers inside the carb. No-one seems to have a trick to fix this.

      Have you tried dynamite? Seriously, what about applying a heat gun to get it toasty in there while pushing from the opening? Just a thought.

    WD40 is not strong enough to clean crud in an emulsion tube?

    I have an HRB 215. Do you know where I can find information on how to adjust all the carburetor linkages, arms, and the two spring adjustment screws (located on the bracket) back to their original settings? I know the throttle cable itself needs to be in the correct position to start with. I can either get the choke to work properly or the throttle to open and close, although it does not return far enough to make contact with the low RPM adjustment screw (when set at 3 full turns) on the carburetor. I can not get the throttle and choke working together at the same time. Frustrating.

    How did you keep track of where the idle screw was set?

    • @LazyGrandpasGarage
      @LazyGrandpasGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We always screw it in and keep track of how many turns it was so we know exactly where to put it. At time 20:14 - 20:24 it shows on screen it was three full turns to the original setting we took it from.
