Hey folks! Some video resolution issues this time that I couldn't fix, so apologies and we'll do better next time!

I read the other viewers' comments - yes, a very good presentation.
My concern is a $225 single record with additional non-artist tracks. If the two records were offered, what would be the price, I doubt $75.

Another great and wonderful review, thank you very much much for your work! I’m very anxious for the weekend to come so I can open and listen to my box.

thanks! I can relate, I didn't start buying vinyl until after I was out of school and working for that very reason

Great overview and perspective. Too bad the Tone Poet Society coupon doesn’t work for it. Sad to hear about the live club quality. Probably a single listen. I did love the double disc comp they did for volume 2 so happy to hear the comp here is outstanding as well. Cheers.

As I commented elsewhere, the Top Tier / Most Expensive BNTPS level & provided benefit "coupon" isn't even valid for any of their BN artwork either! Come on Don - take off the gloves & restrictions for your elite level subscribers!

I am 100% in agreement about the compilation in the set. I was also blown away by how great it is. I ripped the CD to my Plex server and I've been listening to it at work and in my car during my commute. Having all of those versions of songs off of The Procrastinator makes me want to have that in the collection, so I hope that maybe we'll eventually get a reissue, even though there was a Music Matters version which is currently out of print.
The Bill Frisell track makes me excited to get Have A Little Faith from VMP.
The one bummer about the box itself isn't that it is narrower than the previous two boxes, it's the fact that it isn't as tall as the other two, so it messes with the esthetic of having a row of these boxes. A minor gripe to be certain, but seems like an oversight.

Too bad this boxset isn‘t available in Europe. Here‘s to hoping they‘ll release Sonic Boom as a standalone one day!

Just got the box a couple of days ago. Found it very enjoyable. Have Vol 1 and 2.

I kinda skipped this one and your previous video on this Box Set kinda reinforced that decision. $225 is not a small sum and as much as I would now love to hear the reinterpretations, I am going to stand firm on my decision, especially as I have committed to the full TP subscription. I hope I don’t regret this decision down the road. Great video!

I’m sure they could have added something better than the 10 inch.
It was marketed as first ever, and for good reason

Thanks for the video, appreciate your perspective as always.
But for me, this is a hard pass.
Each of these BN Review boxes contains great music, but the price is too high if you only care about the records and not the collectible pack-ins or the boxes.
We are fortunate to live in a time of abundant, high-quality jazz reissues, and even audiophile versions of many of our favorite classic records. There are so many other sets to buy that give me more value for my money.
Example: the recent Chick Corea Trilogy box set. Same price as the BN Review Vol 3, but includes 8 LPs, a 32-page booklet with rare photos and insightful essays, and a box that's nicer than the BN Review boxes IMHO (I own the first two BN Reviews). The music alone is worth the price, everything else is icing on the cake.
Lee Morgan's sonic boom can be found on discogs & ebay for not crazy prices. I just ordered from discogs a NM copy for around $40 including s/h, which gets me half of what I want from the BN Review Vol 3 set for way less than half the cost.
I know the BN Review Vol 3 will be a good purchase for some folks, and for them I'm grateful it exists.

I’m not so concerned about the price but starting with box number three. As completist this would bug me. Let’s hope they make it a tone poet. They’ll sell a ton.

Thanks for the quality video as well, but hard pass with no reservations. Grabbing the CD. I see it as a cash grab, and pricey for one desired LP, and a bunch of stuff I don't want or need. One man's opinion.

Glad you liked it but you’re just giving in to their efforts to monetize the label in any way possible and by publicizing it you’re helping them do that.

@@bradlewin8 give in to their efforts? Not sure what you’re talking about. I discussed the bad and the good parts about this box that I purchased with my own money. To the extent I’ve ever had any interaction with the label, it’s been limited to Joe Harley leaving a comment every so often on my videos correcting things I get wrong

@ By publicizing what they are doing through your video, you are, in effect, helping them to sell product and furthering their efforts (unintentionally) to monetize the brand as what you say does carry some influence.
